My wife and I didn't quite camp here - rather, we wanted to capture the eclipse from a location away from (most) other people, that had a wide open view. We visited the site the day before the eclipse - it is WAY bigger than I expected it to be. We met some of the other campers and hiked down to the Wabash River, which was pretty high that day but still fun to see.
Haleigh had ensured that there were plenty of tent sites - we could see lots of mowed spots not only for tent campers, but also a lot of mowed areas for the eclipse, a bit north of the house area, and along the northern edge of the property. So everyone had plenty of space to enjoy the celestial event. And we were able to capture WONDERFUL photos and video from here. Haleigh and her family were all very kind before and after.
A few minor notes: The gravel road leading to the sites is rather large gravel and a bit bumpy in spots. A higher clearance vehicle will help a lot (think Subaru or a bit higher clearance). Also, there were a LOT of ticks even in April - we did have to pick three off our sheltie - but it's a field, so, I mean - nature is gonna nature, right? It is what it is. Just be aware, wear proper clothing and check yourself / kids / pets afterwards.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience and a beautiful site.
