James cottage was better than I expected! We needed a break from the beach and for my parents and it was the perfect place for us to get away. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a more peaceful environment. The thing that looks like a pond is actually pool which was awesome. We bought groceries including steak and fish before we went and then grilled it all on the porch. The bed is extremely comfortable and everything was clean including towels and beach towels. The bathroom was to die for and some thing I will miss so much. The hot tub was amazing for gazing at the stars.

The James Cottage sits privately on a 33 acre ranch with chickens, horses and an adorable goat named Romeo (feed him bananas with the peel on). The whole property is special and everyone there is super sweet, responsive and an all around great host. The place comes with fresh eggs from the farm which you can refill every morning, a hot tub with beautiful views of the stars at night, and a secluded shallow man-made pond for swimming a short walk from the cottage. We had an incredible time here, and I would highly recommend this experience to anyone coming to the Big Island. Will definitely be returning in the future. Thanks, Christie!

Absolutely amazing! The hosts are extremely nice and so are the farm animals :) James Cottage was perfect with a kitchen and bed in one section, awesome bathroom separate from that building and your own private hot tub in between the two! There is a wonderful pool for all guests to enjoy and a play room for children! It's a great location about an hour from Kona Airport and right down the street from the cute town of Hawi :)

This ranch is MAGIC. The James Cottage is a beautiful place to stay, and the sky is super dark making star gazing from your private hot tub a total dream. The bed is super comfy and the kitchen is nicely set up, it's really everything you need (even laundry!) I love wandering around the ranch in the morning too, I got to meet baby piglets and watch horses wandering amongst the trees with the ocean behind them. My only wish is that I could have stayed longer!! Christie is an amazing host and I look forward to returning sometime soon. Aloha :)
