Great host and a beautiful property. He let us use the hunters cabin for hotshowers.

We failed to text him with our ETA early enough on our day of arrival so he didn’t have enough warning to meet us or explain where to go. Not really the hosts problem- it was our error. We weren’t sure we were on the right property- would have been nice to have a sign there to identify the area as a Hipcamp property. Luckily an employee showed up to assist us - not sure what would have happened if we hadn’t met him. We never really saw the camping spots- just chose to stay near the barns since we were going to be returning after dark.

Super cool spot, was greeted by a red heffer,
Also saw deer, river otters,and others. Stayed by the creek had a nice spot for my hammock. I did not see a human being. Only the occasional work truck. Super laid back.

I stayed at campsite 4 and it felt so secluded and private. Plenty of firewood provided for a fire in a big beautiful fire pit. A stream nearby. Closed in by a ring of trees. A perfect getaway to be immersed in nature.

Exactly the weekend we were looking for. The campsite was beautiful, we slept with the sound of the creek running behind us, and it was private but close enough to civilization. Our host was extremely helpful and super nice. The only time we even saw him was when we asked to see him. Aside from that...pure privacy, relaxation, and just a good, wholesome weekend. DEFINITELY GOING BACK AND WOULD 10/10 RECOMMEND!!!!!!

Horseshoe Creek camping site.
Amazing primitive camping. Had fun pretending like we were on naked and afraid with our dogs. Beautiful spring running through our campsite. We intended to stay for one day we stayed for three. I would recommend this camping area to anyone who is sick of being around the population and really wants to go have a camping experience in Florida. Best place I have camped in years!! Must enjoy real camping! Wildlife! Campfires! And all the wonderful things that nature has to offer!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Horseshoe Creek. Our campsite was secluded, the host was very hospitable, and it was so refreshing to be able to cool off in the creek. Highly recommend!

Horseshoe Creek camping site.
We made a last minute reservation later in the evening and the host was responsive very quickly both to a phone call and to helping us sort out where to go person. We didn’t end up at the site in the evening but stayed in the field above the site due to our own preference to be near our van and our stuff with our kids, and the host was clear that we were welcome to camp wherever we pleased in the vicinity. We had a 40 acre field to ourselves. The site itself was like a beautiful, tropical jungle.
We were shocked that we could get to such a remote and alone kind of place just ten minutes off the Florida strip mall, during busy camping season. We had the space to ourselves and it was very convienent.

Horseshoe Creek camping site.
Nice private campsite on the heavily wooded edge of a cow pasture. Trees everywhere definitely gave you the feel of privacy and escape. Beautiful little clear water creek right at the campsite offering tricke sounds the whole stay. We had a lot of fun here.

Large area with plenty of space to set up camp. It was very private and primitive. There was plenty of wood around to use for the fire. If you are looking for a place to get away, this is a good place! We brought our dogs and they are able to run off leash. They loved it! There are lots of hitchhilers, so if your dog has long hair come prepared. Otherwise, we had a great time!
