Old Growth Redwood Grove of 1.5 acres, small campground area, with creek running beside sites. Campground is located on three acre rural residential housing parcel. Showers and bathroom available on-site. Walking distance of State Park which has trails for hiking, picnic area, day use with fee. Walking distance to swimming on the Navarro River. Located in the wine country of the Navarro River watershed. One hour drive from the seaside town of Mendocino. Five tent sites available under the redwood trees in the grove or beside wishing well and willow tree. Drive way is dirt, and one lane bridge 8 foot span to access sites. Or parking available on one side and packing gear, short walk to site.

Redwood Grove is shady and cool, with a nearby creek and hillside, covered in fauna. Short walk, only 500 feet to the nearby river, with a swimming hole. Only 500 more feet to the State Parks' day-use hiking trails. Campers will be able to swim in the Navarro River from May through August, and hike the surrounding area. Taste wines from 28 different tasting rooms in a 10 mile radius, on the CA-128 corridor, eat at fine restaurants in the valley. Or drive the 35 miles, one hour to the seashore, where the many activities abound.

Creekside West Corner
Well, the owner was very friendly, I received no pre-communication even after multiple attempts and when we arrived, the area was both dirty and much more surrounded by housing than indicated. Also indicated multiple loose dogs on the property. The most challenging part for us though was, they have an extremely narrow un railed bridge that one person in our party was unwilling to drive across because of the danger. Hopefully this will be more clearly shared with people for the future.

Overall the host was really friendly and helped us pick out a spot since we arrived in after dark. The campsites are along a creek that was dry season behind the owners house. To access we had to drive over a pretty narrow bridge which was just wide enough for our car. We stayed under a lovely willow tree close to the main house so it's not that private if you're looking for a spot out in the woods. Lots of firewood though and make shift fire pits. Downside was a rooster on the property started up at 4:30am and kept on into the morning until we got up. As someone not used to this, it didn't make for a restful sleep.
