The Grove (5 total) campsites are located near the historic Narrow Gauge Railroad bed on a family owned working ranch in coastal Northern California. The camp sites are nestled in a pasture and grove of mixed Eucalyptus, willow and cypress trees. The sites are perfect for tents or camper vans, or small trailers. There are no hook-ups for RVs (the access to the camp sites also prohibits long vehicles). There is access to a composting camp toilet. The ranch itself is 300 acres of rolling hills pasture, with hilltop views of the Estero Americano valley. The Grove is home to many varieties of raptors and other birds-providing excellent bird watching. Seasonally there are blackberries to fill your containers, and some hiking. The sites are subject to some road noise, as we are right on Hwy 1. We are mere minutes from the quaint towns of Valley Ford, Tomales, and Dillon Beach, and a short drive from Bodega, Bodega Bay or Marshall, Pt. Reyes Station and Inverness. Nearby attractions include: Sonoma Coast beaches, Pt. Reyes National Seashore, coastal hiking trails, local farm-to-table eateries. Inland attractions include: redwoods, wine tasting, Russian River activities and so much more. Specifics about these campsites are: They each come with a picnic table (#1,#2, has a checkerboard painted on it-bring checkers or chess!)The grounds are a working ranch, so there is variations of the soil- some lumps and bumps and general natural state of a pasture v. a groomed lawn. There are certainly level places for tents and camper vans or trailers. The ranch borders Hwy 1, so there is some degree of road noise. Traffic usually dies down mid afternoon, and isn't too much of a disturbance. There can be however, some heavy weekend traffic during the day with car clubs and motorcycle riders enjoying the coastal highway. Site 1 - The Meadow Grove

Really enjoyed this spot. There was no one else when we camped there so we had the place to ourselves. The outhouse was nice, my 16 month old kid loved the tractor and the camp cat Boots, and there was a lovely chorus of birdsong in the day and owls at night. We took a short walk around the property and loved seeing all the cows and sheep. It was a nice open meadow for a kid to wander.

Mooo, kids friendly farmlands

Beautiful site in a great location. The privacy of other sites is lacking but Site 4 is behind a small bluff (relatively steep dirt entrance and under the tree so no big vehicles!) Weather was coastal chilly but bundled up and we had a great weekend! Boots is an awesome host and joined us a walk up the hills. Check-in was easy, communication perfect, and the compost toilet impeccable. Would stay again!

Great location to explore Sonoma

This is our 2nd time here and it’s a great spot to explore Sonoma. You are very close to bodega bay, point Reyes, occidental and Sebastopol. It’s relatively quiet and my toddler son loved waking up to the sounds of owls, cows, sheep, and pigs near by. We love that the site is dog friendly and enclosed!

Site 1 - The Meadow Grove

For the Ladies and the Fellas I’ve been here several times now and it’s a beautiful camping spot. It feels wide open and spacious, room to spread out. The owls serenade you to sleep calling each other from tree to tree. The LADIES AND FELLAS potties are entertaining and clean. There are sightings of farm animals and so much birdsong. Love it

Camping on the Farm

Gated area felt safe for Kids and Pets. Tractor to play on! Wild boars frightened us a little late at night but the cows were a joy. Sites 2,1,5 are about 50feet from Rte 1 so you get the occasional motorcycle and car noise. Sites 3-4 are quieter. great place for Group Camping!

We loved camping on Anna’s land! The place is nice and directions were clear. There were others sites nearby but it wasn't too loud. My kids and dog loved hiking to the top of the hill and see the great views!

Great spot and great location

Great campsite! Beautiful trees and surroundings. I stayed at campsite 3 since it was the furthest away from the road. Location is great, valleyford which is a few minutes drive has one of my favorite restaurants - Estero that I’d definitely recommend you go for breakfast. Bodega bay was also very near by and Petaluma only 30 minutes! Just as described in the post with minimal facilities. There is a bit of car noise in the morning but tends to mellow out into the evening, although it wasn’t that bad. Overall would recommend !

Lovely pastoral campsite.

This was just a one night midway point for me, and there were other spots, but we’ll spaces apart which was nice because it was an open setting. I liked hearing and seeing the cows munch and play around just across the way. Great toilet here! Nice and roomy and was a well taken care of composting system. It is set right on the highway, but once night came traffic died down and it wasn’t an issue for me.

Great Place to Stay and Explore

We stayed 2 nights in our class B and loved the setup. The spaces are nicely spread out, very peaceful surroundings and easy to get to from the Bay Area. We explored Dillon Beach and had a great dinner in Valley Forge. Bodega Bay is just quick ride away as well. We will stay here again when escaping to this part of the North Bay.

Very peaceful, loved pitching our tent under the giant Cypress in site #2, looking at the stairs & hearing the birds… also thumbs up for the composting toilets! My only constructive feedback would be that for a “dog-friendly” site, that field definitely had an unfriendly number of dry foxtails. Nothing a more regular mow or grazing rotation couldn’t fix though!

Love this little space. I was alone at the campsite and my dogs just loved running around!! The car noise isn't as big of a deal as some other comments made it seem. Can't wait to come back

Site 5 of The Meadow Grove

Beautiful land! You can tell they put a lot of work into making sure you have all you need there. And there’s nothing like watching the sun set and rise over some golden hills. Beautiful cherry tree. I think my favorite part was Boots the campground cat. He’s very friendly and I even got some morning snuggles. Will stay here again if I need a place to stay while on the road!

Nice spot, directly on the 1 so easy access to Petaluma, Bodega Bay, etc. Because it is directly on the 1, there is more traffic day & night that passes than a typical campground.

Private campsite, perfect location.

Very large and private field all to ourselves. Location is great, right off of US1 but was quiet and felt secluded. Huge mature trees abound on the property including 1 giant one right at the campsite. Valley Ford (N) and Tomales (S) are about 5 minutes away and have restaurants, general stores, and more. Will come back.

Site #4 truly provides for privacy. It was nice to enjoy some hammock time in the shade underneath the willow trees. And each day would not have been complete without being visited by the resident cat on the property.
