Generated from real Hipcamper reviews
The Hideout in San Ysabel offers a peaceful camping experience with stunning views, especially from sites like "The Perch" and "The Cove." Many campers appreciated the privacy, clean facilities, and the ability to enjoy campfires. While most reviews are positive, some guests noted a lack of cooking amenities, minimal shade, and noise from nearby activities as drawbacks. Despite these concerns, the overall impression is that this site is a reliable and well-maintained option for a family getaway or a quick escape into nature.

Mike, our camp host was amazing. He was very responsive and took care of us. Mike, thank you so much for everything.

It was okay
It's a good solution for what it is - very close to downtown Julian, easy last-minute availability (in my experience at least). It's missing key amenities to justify the price to me, but I've come back twice because it's a reliable place to stay during peak season. I wish they would add a cooking grate to the fire pits, and I think more could be done to screen the campsites from the nearby cabin floodlights. It's definitely not a nature getaway, it's just a safe, mostly comfortable place to sleep outside.
