Dave is a friendly guy. Spot was flat and level for our campervan and we had all the privacy we wanted. We aren't dog people, but his dog was very well behaved and didn't bark or disturb at all.

We really enjoyed meeting the Host David and his Co-Host ( Homer the dog). We texted David and he responded quickly and allowed us to come in a little early and we were grateful. He invited us to a campfire with some of his friends that evening and if we wanted our own fire we could use his firewood. Very nice host and will definitely visit again. Very close to I 10 and I 85. The description of site is accurate.

It was quiet and peaceful and the stars were real bright. Enjoyed seeing all the farm animals but our favorite was Homer the dog. We also enjoyed hiking. We hope to go there again soon.

Dave was extremely helpful and welcoming. We parked on a beautiful location amongst the tall evergreens just off his long driveway overlooking a valley. Super clean outdoor outhouse (no smell!👍). And super friendly dogs to greet us as well. Unfortunately we had to leave early the next morning so unable to explore the trails on his property.

Heart Of The Country was very accommodating. The animals were fun to visit also. It was peaceful and quiet with no road noise. We would definitely stay here again!

Dave was very polite and friendly. The price for a site with electric was fantastic! We were there to visit the USS Alabama and the surrounding areas. The location for that was perfect.

Great spot for a quick one nighter. There was firewood present, but it wasn't corded up, so we weren't able to have a fire for dinner. Luckily I had a stove as backup. Also there was a bit of trash around the property which was a bit off putting.
All in all, I would definitely stop here again as it was very private and peaceful. Much much better than the KOA refugee camps that are big right now. This is the way camping sites SHOULD be! Great spot.

It's a very nice place. I don't even know if there were other campers there, because I felt like I was all alone, which I what I wanted. Dave was very accommodating, and friendly, as was the woman who greeted me when I arrived (along with Homer).
The driveway was not very obvious me, but note that there is a dirt road next to it that can be a little confusing.
His dog Homer is very sweet and friendly, and it was nice to have a "guard" around, to notify of any problematic animals. Just note that he is a mooch for food🙂.
There was a fire pit where I was at, and plenty of burnable treefall around, just bring some kind of cutting tool to make good use of it, or be ready to break it apart to usable sizes.
If I come back this way, I will definitely stay again.

I was welcomed with a very late check in. The spot was clean and well maintained. There was plenty of firewood for the burn pit with plenty of space for my bike and tent. It was pretty nice to see all of the animals before I headed out.

Super beautiful property! Lots of hikes and beautiful sights close by. Dave’s property is beautiful, as well. The road is close by so you can hear cars but it wasn’t super disturbing. All the animals are friendly, just make sure to put any food up! Super lovely weekend stay

Stayed at Boondock #1 for 4 nights. It was not as nice as depicted in Hipcamp. The sites are literally on the edge of his front yard. No water, sewage or electricity. There is one site with water and electricity but you must park in his driveway. I was expecting much more privacy. The Hipcamp write up describes multiple trails which I was excited about. However, the trails simply go to the back of his house, you then have to cut across his back yard to stay on his property, and then back up the driveway. Takes about 10 minutes. I would describe them as paths vice trails. Hipcamp also lists this site with a hot tub. But what it doesn't tell you is it cost $15 extra per couple per day, plus $5 for each additional. The hot tub is clothing optional. Also, the sites are very close to a moderately busy road with substantial road noise. Homer, the owners dog, was nice, and very friendly, but was always around during meals begging for food. You could get him to leave by speaking sternly to him, but was definitely an annoyance. Dave, the host was great! Very friendly, met us upon our late arrival, and checked on us several times. He even brought us a 100' 30 amp extension cable when I told him my solar panels were acting up. I'm sure he would have locked Homer the dog up if I had mentioned him being a problem. I would consider this place again for a one night pass thru, but not a quite, 4 day get-a-way.
