We were on a roadtrip from Nashville to New Orleans and we couldn’t have wished for a better pitstop than at Jimmy’s land in Mount Olive! We have an autonomous converted van and happened to be the only campers on site; it was very easy to get to the location, which was beautiful and very peaceful—we had a great night sleep! Jimmy was a perfect host, very responsive and accommodating to our last minute request, and he made us feel very welcome. We highly recommend <3

Weekend Trip to Parksland Retreat

Parkland retreat is absolutely stunning place and is very peaceful! A really great place to reconnect with yourself, nature, and with others. The host and co-host are absolutely wonderful human beings and keep the place really nice. The clothing optional was very freeing and added an extra wonderment to the trip. I can't wait to come back for more more relaxation and adventures.

It was a nice and cozy place to camp on the lake side, it was a quiet place with no disturbance. Firewood was provided. Clif was great, he even came around to say hello and checked if everything was alright. Overall a great experience and would recommend anyone wanting to camp to try this place.

Beautiful secluded site right on the creek. A bit of a hike from the parking area so pack light! The grounds are very well kept and Dustin was an excellent host! Very open and welcoming! We didn't have any cell service so make sure to download maps if you plan to explore around. Overall, it's a great place to disconnect and get back to nature. We will definitely be planning a trip back.

A beautiful hidden treasure. This tv park is spotless. We found nothing out of place. We stayed the Sunday before Memorial Day and it was perfect. The shower trailers are amazing and the laundry facilities, WOW! Nice surprise. They even have a huge camp store. You have to check this place out full hook up rv sites.

Weekend Trip to Larry & Sheila's Blackwater Getaway

Larry & Sheila are fantastic hosts. RV sites were spacious enough that we also could put up our tent. Lots of shade kept the heat at bay. Facilities are clean and convenient and the proximity to the water was great for the kids. We are glad to have found this place, enjoyed the seclusion of the camp, and will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Parksland Retreat

This was my third stay at Parksland but the first time I’d used the ‘byo tent’ option and also the first time I’ve gotten to take apart in the amazing sauna! Dustin is a great host and is always accommodating and welcoming. Due to some fortunate circumstances I actually set up at P6, which is slightly larger of a platform, and with my 2p tent I felt like I had more than enough room for the tent and for several items laid out all around it. Dustin has a tarp for rent but I just pulled in my belongings into my tent when it began to rain at night and fell asleep to the peaceful pitter patter. This is a truly relaxing slice of earth, an amazing choice for a nervous system reset, forest bathing at its most pure. Can’t wait to go back!

This was our 5th stay. This is our favorite place to unplug. Throw electronics in the car, light a fire and just listen to the world around you and forget about the day to day for a bit.

Wonderful experience! Dustin has created a truly special place and he is a friendly and engaging host. The natural landscape is stunning. The (clean!) amenities blend in seamlessly and don't take away from the natural feel. The campsites are far enough apart to make you feel like you have your own little space but close enough to interact with your neighbors if you choose. Everyone who found their way here was so friendly and welcoming. There is also a communal aspect with the group campfire and group sauna on certain nights. 10/10 and will definitely be back.

It was a quiet place and the group site we were on didn't have any nearby neighbors and was secluded by trees. Nice trails and a little pond. Camp host was very nice and accommodating.

Weekend Trip to Whippoorwill Woods Nature Retreat

This place is magical. Me, my guy & our German Shepherd were in need of some quiet relaxation. As soon as we arrived in the afternoon there was plenty around to explore starting with the natural spring pond surrounded my smooth stones. We enjoyed watching the fishes swim around. As soon as the sunset began we were surrounded by brilliant pink and orange hues. Once the sunset and the moon started to rise we were mesmerized by twinkling lights from fire flies and serenaded by whippoorwills & frogs around the pond. After that we were able to get some great stargazing done. We even woke up to the most beautiful sunrise. Highly recommend this place. Few other helpful details: The portapotty was clean and well stocked, there is a trash can next to the portapotty which was also nice to not have to haul your trash out. The hosts were responsive, friendly, and gave clear instruction. It was easy to find this place and we had a level spot to car camp on. As with most places outside if you plan to walk around in the tall grass on the property make sure to tuck your pants into your socks because there were a couple of ticks on me. But that’s easily handled w deet. Definitely plan to camp here again.

Heart of the Country

Heart of the Country is our home and also your own personal twelve acre state park whenever you stay with us! We are less than 15 minutes from Interstate 10 and from Interstate 65. I offer a half-dozen campsites, all either on a relatively level paved driveway or grass. Power (20 amp and 30 amp) and water is available. We have two 30 amp campsites, which are first come, first served. WIFI is available! (please ask for password). We have a portable toilet for your use. This is a Longleaf Pine sanctuary with lots of nature trails. This is also a hobby farm with livestock (Donkey, two Goats, a Duck and a flock of Chickens). I feed the livestock grain every morning usually between 8 and 9 am, and again hay before dusk. You are always welcome to join me and I'll introduce all of them to you! My dog, Homer, is our very friendly welcoming ambassador who will enthusiastically great you upon your arrival. I put him up in his kennel each evening around dusk, then lock him in his shed until morning which keeps him from backing during the night. We also host an AirBnB, so other guests may be here as well. Texting via the app is our preferred mode of communication. If you call, please leave a message if I can't answer, and I will call you back. We are slowly updating the site photos. Use them only to determine your price, for example: A site with 30 amp power and water is $25 per night. A site with 20 amp power and water is $20 per night. A boondocking site (no power) is $15 per night. All sites have access to a porta-potty and water. Suggested local attraction: Blakeley State Historic Park is four miles away.

After hiking through what felt like every property for sale over 100 acres in North Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee, we finally found the perfect spot. Why do we call our property Whippoorwill Woods? Did you know that whippoorwills don’t nest in trees? They lay their eggs on the ground in the forest. They’re birds that love camping! As soon as we heard the whippoorwills start singing in the spring, we knew it was the perfect name. We’re so excited to share our property with campers who love nature as much as we do. We specifically set up the campsites to give as much privacy as possible. We hope you’ll come visit and soak up the bird songs, the wind in the trees, and the beautiful sunsets over the mountains. We have 20 acres of savannah grassland full of native plants and wildflowers and over 80 untouched acres full of awesome rock formations and creeks with waterfalls available for you to hike. There's a stocked fish pond for catch and release fishing and a gorgeous view overlooking the Cumberland Plateau and the Sherwood Valley. Experienced and beginner campers are welcome! We live on one side of the property, so we’re available to assist (setting up tents for the first few times is no joke!) or we’re happy to give you as much space and solitude as you need. We have three campsites available in the native savannah grassland, and one that is a "hike-in and choose your favorite spot in the woods" site. This area was called Boot's Bottoms growing up and the name stuck. There is a rock wall close to the campsite that was a old grist mill site. Plenty of wildlife, bird watching, wildflowers and creek walking. Some old ATV trails for hiking as well. Very remote and quite! Learn more about this land: Setup camp on the banks of Dorsey creek in Bug Tussle. Wooded area with shade in the warm season. Flat ground for tents or plenty of trees for hammocks. Easy access for vehicles directly to the campsite. Fire ring with grill grates present for cowboy cooking. Peaceful with plenty of opportunity to see wildlife. Primitive toilet present. Rock dam in creek is great to entertain kids, old grist mill site couple hundred yards downstream. Logging and ATV present for hiking and wildlife viewing. Deeper sections in creek present for cooling off in warm weather.

Please note the access road is old gravel and dirt, so if in a low car you'll need to take it slow. If there has been rain call ahead for entry directions as part of road becomes muddy. Site 2 is a smaller packed gravel site which is 16x32 with electric and water. Both sites have 50/30/amp connections. For your convenience, there is an additional dump station on the property. The camping area is about 1.3 acres fully fenced in so pet owners can allow their pets run around and have some secure space without having to worry about a leash. Bring your ATV's or side by sides! The back side of the property has almost 50 acres of ATV and walking trails. A spring fed private 1.5 acre stocked pond with a covered and lighted boat/fishing dock is also located on the property. Covered fishing dock has benches for getting out of the sun and relaxing. Property is less than 15 minutes from a Walmart, Lake Eufaula, many chain/local restaurants, parks, and museums. Property owner is not on site, but is just a phone call/text away.
