Shane was available for a last minute booking request and was so easygoing and helpful! The setup is great, I especially love the swing overlooking the water. Very quiet and beautiful place, I was grateful to be there.

This was a great campground, with lots of great utilities such as grills, extra chairs, and a bathroom. Lake was pretty and the views were neat. That being said this was most definitely a campground and not a series of campsites. The “dispersed” camping was in very close proximity to the RVs and communal hang out area. All the campsites are on one hillside and you will most likely be in contact with other campers consistently. If you’re looking for a dispersed camping experience this is probably not your spot, if you don’t mind being around other campers then this place has everything your looking for in a campground. Easy to find and the land owner treated us well.

We rented the trailer for 1 night with 6 adults and had fun! The site was clean and had everything we needed and Shane was easy and responsive to any concerns we had. We hope to come back!

Site was wonderful and Shane prepared a lot of wood for us to use. Place was easy to find and we had a great time. We pitched our tent a little further back, under the trees, so we had more privacy. You can see the house if you're closer to the pond. Overall, a great time and Shane was a very good host.

We actually had other camping plans that fell through. We sent a message late in the evening, and Shane answered and accommodated us with no notice. He was very friendly, and the area is really, really cool. I'll definitely come back, with advance notice, with some friends.

Very nice site, owner was very friendly but didn't get in our way, came down to introduce himself and then left us alone for the rest of the stay. Definitely would recommend.

Shane provided the perfect spot for my kids' first outdoor camping experience. Secluded and beautiful enough to feel adventurous, yet close enough to feel safe, bolstered by the appropriately engaging host. Amenities if you need them! Excellent experience!

Perfect shady spot for our camper!! Plenty of room for our son and our dog to run around and be crazy 🤪 absolutely loved it! Paddle boats were definitely a bonus and kept our 11 year old busy as well as the fishing! Shane was a great host - showed us around the place when we got there and answered messages quickly. We will definitely be staying again and probably bringing friends!

Great little spot. Only stayed for a quick overnight stay on my way through. Host was super responsive. Plenty of firewood for the campfire.

Property is gorgeous, if you choose to stay in one of the trailers it's a nice blend of roughing it and glamping. Only thing that would make it better is running water/shower but totally manageable if you take that into account (its mentioned in description and details). Trailers are spread decently apart so you have some privacy if others are in another trailer. I'm totally planning on coming back next year when the weather gets nice

It was great to be out in nature and still not too far from home. Great space for family & friends to hang out! Lots of space & beautiful, peaceful land!! Made great memories with family and friends there!

The fishing was absolutely awesome, especially since it was in the middle of summer. I can’t wait to book this site in prime bass fishing season. Shane was a great host. He was like a great restaurant server, there when you needed him and out of site when we were enjoying our family time.

We wanted to meet up at a halfway point to spend time with family. So I searched and searched for something that hit all the wants we needed. Privacy, lake, fishing, beds, and plenty of room for a family of 15 to enjoy each other. Shane’s property checked off all those things and more. We really enjoyed our time at his property. We can’t wait to go back and visit again! Shane definitely goes out of his way to make this place an enjoyable space. Thanks so much for such a wonderful trip and allowing our family to create wonderful memories ❤️ we will most definitely be back!!

Booked 2 months prior for 2 trailers, 7 people.
But in the final 24 hours, we received a number of strange messages, some of which raised the price to double the original quote, with the extra to be paid in cash. Seemed sketchy, and beyond our budget. We agreed with the host (in writing) to cancel the stay for a refund, but then he stopped communicating entirely and wouldn't process the refund. We're trying to work out the refund with Hipcamp, but they also haven't responded yet.
Frustrating all around.

We loved this camping playground just a short 2 hours from Chicago suburbs. It was so quiet and felt great to have a/c at night to sleep. The kids loved the paddle boats and my son caught a big bass! Shane was an awesome host.
