Wooded and gated with large campsites - RV FHU, tent, van, and glamping sites available! We offer a place to stay as a gateway to Destin, Okaloosa Island, Pensacola Beaches and waterways, or to the expansive local activities in the Blackwater State Forest and surrounding rivers, including hiking, hunting, canoeing, and kayaking! Our spacious and private sites include: 3 FHU (water, electric, and sewer - a 50 AMP + two 30 AMP), water and electric, RV boondocking, primitive, and glamping in our refurbished 2003 Dutchman Camper. Our primitive site is hike in only. We are a fully fenced in 14 acres. The campsites are behind a natural barrier of trees that offer privacy. Though we are a peaceful setting, there are neighbors beyond the fence and you may hear donkeys braying, roosters crowing, cows mooting, or dogs sounding off to deer moving around in the woods of the state forest. There are well maintained walking/biking/hiking trails are on the property, with many shaded sections. Porta potty on site for our tent campers and boondockers, but coming soon - a full washhouse w/ flush toilet and shower! NEWLY opened Dump station! ($10 fee) We are pet friendly! Come enjoy some time in the woods, but keep the convenience of A/C or heat, a refrigerator, microwave, a comfy bed, a TV, and a shower and RV toilet! Want to enjoy a Destin vacation, but not all of the Destin prices - make day trips to enjoy the beach and enjoy campfires in the woods at night! This spot is right past the tree line when you enter the campground. It is ~30’x50’+ site with an updated 2003 Dutchman Sport 28' camper ready for you. The camper is backed up to the tree line with full hook up to 30 AMP power, water, sewer, a fire ring, and picnic table. It may not be the bougieiest camper :) but it is comfortable, clean, and cozy! Camper comes with full size bed in the main bedroom with door, and 2 twin beds in the back bedroom. Bedding is provided, along with basic kitchen and cooking supplies. Pitching a tent on the site is absolutely allowed! So kids can tent camp and mom and dad can enjoy the A/C :). There is a 1x cleaning fee that will be added to the overall total for booking the cozy camper. Our campground is a gateway to the expansive activities of the Blackwater State Forest and to the beautiful Northwest Florida Emerald Coast (Destin, Okaloosa Island, Pensacola Beaches, 30A). The campsite feels secluded as it is surrounded by the natural barrier of trees all around you, and a great view of the moon and stars in the large clearing. We are on 14 acres, with the entire property fully fenced in. Hosts actively live on the corner 4 acres of land away from campsites. There are well-maintained walking/biking/hiking trails are on the property, with many parts shaded. If you are in an RV or Van and looking for a spot to boondock and spend a few nights while you explore the area, we have got the spot for you! There is a Porta Potty in campground area, but there is no electricity, water, or sewer available at this site. While generators are allowed, they must be used infrequently (I.e. to charge batteries, shorter specific run times). Continuous running day or night is not a good fit for this site. Wifi will be spotty, but is available on the grounds. This site cannot accommodate tents. This is a gated small wooded campground with spacious, spread out sites. This site is in front of the tree-line right past the gate. If you would like to book this site for longer than 7 days, please contact me via the app prior to booking. We are open to longer stays, but since it is a true boondocking site, we need to ensure it will meet your stay expectations. We are a few minutes from area rivers, creeks and Blackwater River State Forest. 45 mins from the Emerald Coast beaches in Destin, Okaloosa Island or Navarre. 40 mins from Pensacola. No additional charge for children 17 and under.

Red Oak Nook has a 50 AMP connection but we have a 50 to 30 AMP adapter you can use. If you are a tent only camper contact me for a discount code for this site! Pets are welcome! Primitive Camping Nook is nestled in the woods away from the main camping loop. It is a great spot to pitch a tent! IT IS NOT ACCESSIBLE BY CAR (parking is at the main loop and it is about a 50 yard walk), but there is a well maintained trail to the site. It is truly primitive with no running water or electricity. The only amenity at the site is a fire ring and privacy. There is an electric outlet and wifi available near the entrance of the main camping loop (near where you park). We have wood on site for a fire to purchase as cutting live vegetation on site is strictly prohibited. If you coordinate with us when you will arrive, we can provide a wheelbarrow to help you get your items to the site. Again, unfortunately car camping is not available at this site since there is no parking right at the site.

Flat, easy access to electric and water. Short walk to pota potty. Welcome packet was very detailed allowing us to find the location quickly at dusk. Barn animals sound an early wake up, but that wasn't bothersome for our trio.

We loved car camping on Jay and Suzzettes land. This was our first time using Hipcamp and they couldn't have made things easier! They provided easy to follow instructions and offered optional amenities. The site was private and I really enjoyed rising to the sounds of the livestock. We would definitely stay again!

The hosts were kind and courteous,cleared a spot just so we could have privacey,went above and beyond..very clean campsites,very peaceful atmosphere ..the picnic table and fire pit were very convenient and nice..I would definitely recommend this camp site

Field - RV Boondocking

The boondocking site was just the right fit for that leg of my travels. Self contained toyhauler and Chihuahua mix. Once the door closed maybe if semi drove past may I have heard it. Host's were talkative quite pleasant and informative. Stay again, sure would.

RV3 - Bull's Landing

This was my second trip to Gateway Trails, first was a solo trip and this time, friends came to enjoy! This site was new to me but was equally wonderful. The campsite was so spacious and yet private and protected, we felt perfectly safe walking around at any time of the day or evening. The site-mentioned outhouse was pristine upon arrival, our purchased firewood was stacked so carefully by the perimeter of our site so it wouldn’t impede tent setup, and the fire pit and table were clean and ready to go! We had less bug friends than I’ve ever seen at a campsite, plenty of space right next to the potable water to set up a portable shower, and the stars at night were clear and bright, deep in the heart of Florida (ten points to you if you know that adjusted lyric). Mr. Jay came to greet us and brought over his adorable pup to say hello as well. It’s been two years since I’ve been to their campsite, and he still remembered me (even after all their fully booked months!) and greeted us all with such kindness. We were bummed we didn’t get to see Mrs. Suzette but respectfully might request a celebrity appearance next time we come down! Thank you Gateway Trails for a fun, safe, and gorgeous camping trip, we cannot wait to come back.
