This is a private driveway in a great location in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The driveway is long and surrounded by aspen, abutting the "old" unused house on my property, so it is private. Although near the main road, the site feels private. You are less than 1 minute walk to Big Cottonwood Creek, and there is hiking out the door in multiple directions, as well as easy biking to Solitude Resort. As a bonus, you are 1/4 mile from Silver Fork Lodge if you get a hankering for a prepared meal. Please note that there are NO DOGS allowed in Big or Little Cottonwood canyons. There is a high fine if so. So this is not an appropriate spot to bring your four-legged friends unfortunately. Please note that currently the utility companies are burying the powerlines. While the site itself is accessible and free of equipment, they have been using the road near it to store equipment. It is a bit unsightly so please keep this in mind when booking the site. Normally, it is a very beautiful view and feels a bit secluded despite being near the road right now the view out from the driveway is of utility equipment. So if this will bother you, please consider a different site for now. I will update this as things change.

IF you are looking for a place to unwind, relax and create unforgettable memories with family or friends you have found the perfect get-away vacation home. A gorgeous house nestled in the middle of The Wasatch National Forest that lets you hear the sounds of nature rather than the bustle of the city with unbeatable views of tall pine trees and the surrounding mountains.  Big Cottonwood Canyon is a special place that will touch your heart.  The house features a large equipped kitchen with breakfast bar seating for; dining room table that seats 8. A cozy living room off the kitchen features a gas fireplace; scenic views from every window. 2 patio doors open onto a huge deck with a barbeque for outdoor grilling, looking into the Wasatch National Forest - also perfect for star gazing the nights sky. The den is perfect for lounging around playing games.    We have lots of board games, a foosball table, and recently added a pub-style old-school Pong game for great nostalgia. The master bedroom is located on the main floor with a queen size bed with an attached beautifully tiled bathroom. The other bedrooms are located on the top floor with a queen bed in the second bedroom; a twin over full bunk bed in the 3rd. The loft has a twin bed with trundle - full bath also on this floor.    With over 500'' inches of snow fall each year you are minutes away from a world class skiing experience. One mile from Solitude Ski Resort; three miles to Brighton Ski Resort with a short 30 minute drive to Snowbird and Alta. Downtown Salt Lake City, The Salt Lake International Airport and Park City are only a 45 minute drive.    In the summer the hiking is unequaled and the mountain biking is some of the best you can find.   If you stay once, it will be a regular gem on your vacation circuit.   House has a caretaker on site to remove all snow, clear driveway and be of assistance. This is a long-ish driveway from a side road towards an unused (and nonaccessible) old house on my property. Although it is quite close to the main road (see map), the surrounding trees give it a more private feel. The length of the driveway is most suitable for a tent/hangout site and a car/van. It is very close (less than a minute walk) to the Big Cottonwood Creek as well as great hiking/biking and even a great restaurant. Because of worry about fires in this special area, there are no longer any outdoor wood fires allowed. You can use a propane fireplace if you desire. There are several nice hangout spots just in the vicinity of the camping area, within just a few feet. And there is hiking just out the door both to the north and south. I've gotten a lot of inquiries about winter camping here: while this is possible, the driveway is left natural and is NOT plowed, so camping would ONLY work if you're willing to do some shoveling (and possibly significant shoveling!). The road to the driveway is plowed, but the driveway is not. 4wd would be a must if you plan to do this.

Fantastic location for access to local hiking trails. Close to the road but in a beautiful location near the creek. Very basic but was exactly what I was looking for. The recommended restaurant up the road was also good and an easy walk from the site.

This little spot is exactly as described. The beauty around the camp was amazing. It is just off the road but we felt it was pretty quiet and that didn't bother us at all. There is access to the creek we saw deer and a moose and here baby the spot was clean. It is a long tree canopy covered driveway. We were able to get ice at a little store at Brighton ski resort. This was our first Hipcamp adventure it was a great one. William did stop by to say hello. He was quick to message me back when I did have a question. No problems or concerns were encountered with the service provided or our trip.

Great little site, host was great to answer any questions. The site is close to the road although it is quiet, easy access and has a nice hiking trail with epic views the Beartrap Fork Trail.
