Tips for Snagging a Campsite Reservation
- As Henry Horton is a popular destination, booking in advance is highly recommended, especially during the summer and on weekends year-round.
- Booking can be easily done online or by phone and up to one year in advance.
- Double-check your dates before booking—a non-refundable booking fee is charged.
When to Go
The summer season from Memorial Day to Labor Day is the park’s peak period, with many visitors arriving to enjoy the trails and cooling off afterward in the swimming pool. As a result, the park can get very crowded, even on weekdays. That said, there’s plenty to do year-round—spring and fall are great for watching migrating birds, and visiting outside of the summer season means beating both the crowds and Tennessee's intense heat and humidity.
Know Before You Go
- The park’s camp store sells basic camping supplies, snacks, drinks, and souvenirs.
- Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
- Only certified heat-treated firewood is allowed to enter the park.
