Weekend Trip to Secrets of Terara

Paula's spot was an ideal spot as a base to explore the nearby Kangaroo Valley and surrounds. Close enough to town for any last minute supplies, but completely secluded in a quiet clearing amongst gum trees - with birdsong all around. The facilities were great and Paula was a wonderful host.

Weekend Trip to Misty Mountain Farm - Farm Stay

Great location. Only a short drive to Seven Mile Beach, Shoalhaven Haven Heads, Gerroa, Gerringong and Kiama. A spacious paddock to pull up. Could feel busy if all sites were full, but we had only two others near us on night one, and the place to ourselves on night two. Great star gazing at night, and the fire pits were a nice touch.

The location is amazing, right next to river with a beautiful backdrop. Varied range of campsites each with its own unique beauty and a few resident local animal life that will add to the experience. Although would add that if you advertise life jackets as part of the kayak package then it should be part of the kayak package and not sold seperatley.

1 night at La Estancia Hideaway at Jervis Bay

Our stay was absolutely incredible! The place is gorgeous, the camping areas are super private, and if you book the bathtub… OMG, it’s perfect after a hot beach day. The communal area is beautiful and has everything you need for cooking, having a coffee and storing your food — plus the cutest little possums watching you at night like tiny fluffy supervisors. And the bathroom with the shower? A solid 10/10, no notes. Magali was an amazing host — super attentive, kind, and just lovely overall! We 100% recommend it. We already decided we’re coming back for a couple more days at the start of next year 😁✨

This was such a peaceful site to camp at. Even though it isn't far from a road it was very quiet. So many birds!! Paula is very warm and welcoming and we enjoyed chatting with her. We enjoyed having a flushing toilet (site 1 is the closest to the bathroom). This was definitely a great choice for us and we would happily come back to camp there again!

2 nights at Coolendel Camp

Loved Coolendel. Great location.. off the beaten track but not too off beaten. The lady at checking was friendly and informative. We camped mid November during the week and literally had the place to ourselves. They had two amenities with hot showers which was a bonus on the first morning. But the rest of the time the fresh water of the Shoal Haven river was perfect. About 90% of sites have fire pits so make sure you bring your own fire wood. No 4G or 5G network but you could buy wifi to access communications. During the three days of camp we managed to see wallabies, kangaroos, wombats, peacocks and abundance of birds life. The stars at night were on full display. One thing I would recommend if you’re camping during the school holidays is to bring your own portable toilet or off grid shower as the amenities would be at premium use Most sites have taps you access fresh water.

We loved our weekend at Wombat Hollow. We were spoilt having the whole place to ourselves which was ideal as we were looking for quiet downtime. After checking out the whole place we realised that even if all the other camps were full, each camp is in its own secluded spot with lots of space around it and between camps so other campers would not have been a bother at all and we still would have had acres and acres to ourselves. The whole place is well maintained and signposted. Lots of helpful instructions when booking so we knew exactly what to bring and if our vehicle amd camper would be suitable. Vallance is a superb host. The camp sites are perfectly simple. Great fire pit. Sturdy benches, level ground, shade and gorgeous lanscape and wildlife all around. Stunning night skies.

Our property is located in Jamberoo on an elevated working beef cattle farm with unique and beautiful views. We accept bookings with a maximum of 2 nights per stay. Our campsite is best suited to couples or families who would to explore the local area then chill out in the quiet and peaceful surrounds of our place. Take a breathe and enjoy the amazing vista. The large grassy site has stunning ocean views and is the perfect spot to relax after exploring all the great activities the surrounding area has to offer or play some outdoor sports if you bring a ball. We are a working farm and have three farm dogs, horses and cattle on the property along with plenty of wildlife. The camp site is approximately 75 metres frome the house. It is in view of he house however we do have a busy life,so you won't see us much unless you need something. We are only a short drive to Kiama and the stunning beaches of the south coast. Kiama has a great market on each month where you can check out the local offerings and enjoy a stroll along the esplanade or check out the famous Kiama blowhole and lighthouse. We are with easy reach of the Budderoo National Park which is full of stunning walks and waterfalls that are always popular. We are a short drive to the Jamberoo Action Park and Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk which are both great places to visit for kids and families. Please note our dogs can sometimes bark during the night as they are protecting the house and areas nearby. You must bring your own portable toilet. You are unable to bring your own dogs. Our site maximum is 2. Sites are opened at short notice when weather permits and not in conflict with farm activities. Weather permitting sites are generally available XMAS, NYE and Easter.

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

Situated just off Jamberoo Mountain Road, we are ideally located between Bowral and Kiama. This campsite is a flat grassy area with rural views to the west and north west. Enjoy the lush green grass under the shade of old gnarly trees. Dogs on leashes are very welcome. Campers will have access to toilet during their stay, just a short walk from the camping area. Various birds, wombats and wallabies are common around our farm and we're located very close to Carrington Falls (Budderoo National Park), the Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk and Barren Grounds Nature Reserve where you can go for a lovely bushwalk or have a swim. Bound on two sides by the craggy escarpments of the Budgong and Morton National Parks there is ample grassland to give a feeling of space yet an abundance of trees to wander through as you engage with the tame wildlife and magnificent birdlife. Bring your mountain bike, fishing rod, swimmers, hiking boots, tennis racket, basketball (a hoop on the tennis court) or climbing gear and leave the kids in the play area while you sit by the creek and listen to the water tumbling through the rocks. If you are as intrigued by rare animals as we are, then this is the place for you. 63 Bird species, 24 mammals, 16 reptiles, and 12 amphibians have been sighted in the area (Clarke 2012) and this includes many rare and endangered species including the platypus, brush-tailed rock wallaby, Giant burrowing frog, Gang-gang cockatoo, Glossy black-cockatoo, Koala, Little Lorikeet and the Yellow-bellied glider. We only have three campsites at present, so you will be guaranteed peace, space and privacy. with a minimum of 400m between all sites. Please note, that your group must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, however fresh drinking water is available. Access is into a valley on a well maintained unsealed road but there are some minor causeways making it unsuitable for busses or long low slung vans. An ordinary sedan will do for Billabong and Dad's camp sites but you will need some power for towing and a 4x4 to tow out in any rain. Riverbend site is only suitable for 4x4's and off-road camp trailers. Elouera Vale is a working farm located just outside Mittagong NSW. We breed and train camels for sale, especially into the Southern Highlands. Camels are excellent for weed control and co-grazing with cattle. 'Elouera Vale' also breeds Belted Galloway cattle, Dorper and Wiltipol sheep and donkeys. Our property covers over 140 acres, 80 acres cleared and pasture improved and the rest consisting of forest. The Chain O Ponds creek runs through the property and makes for a lovely walk. You will probably get to see kangaroo, wallaby, wombats, echidnas, koalas and lots of bird life. The lush green hills abound with walking and cycling trails. You can head to the spectacular Nattai Gorge via the Box Vale Mine walking track, an easy 4.4km circular walk that follows an old railway line through a tunnel to breath-taking views. Enjoy a picnic in the magnificent Lake Alexandra Reserve or hike up extinct volcanic peak Mount Gibraltar. The closest shops are approximately a 15 minute drive to the Mittagong Town Centre where you will find all the shops, cafes and restaurants for your needs. It is well worth a visit to ‘The Shaggy Cow’ cafe, one of our favourite foodie spots (don’t forget to mention Elouera Vale). While you're here please try the Cool Climate wines. The region’s rich soil and high altitude are ideal for cool-climate wine growing. Visit cellar doors in the hills and valleys around Mittagong, including Centennial Vineyards. Enjoy a pleasant wine tasting experience at Centennial (don’t forget to mention us). The Camel Cottage offers a luxe off-the-grid escape for couples just one hour from Sydney but feels like "miles from anywhere". The Gums Cottage is a fully contained, off-grid modern getaway, surrounded by the magnificent white gum trees that are its namesake. The serene setting and stylish interior of The Gums provides all the essentials for a picturesque and peaceful country escape. The White Gum Forest Retreat offers campsites nestled in a white gum forest, not far from a beautiful trickling creek. There is access to toilets and a small dam near campsites for water supply for showers where required.
