When to go

The best time to visit Olompali State Historic Park is during spring and fall when the weather is warm and pleasant. Summer brings heat, making early morning the ideal time for hikes. Winter can be cool, so dress in layers. Always check the weather before your visit to ensure the best experience.

Know before you go

• Check the park hours before your visit; Olompali is open from 9am to 5pm, with the gate closing promptly at 5pm.
• Bring cash or use the Yodel app to pay the $8 parking fee, as credit card machines are not available.
• While dogs are welcome, they are only allowed in developed areas and not on trails or backcountry.
• Remember that collecting or destroying any natural or cultural resources in the park is strictly prohibited.
• For a smooth visit, wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially if you plan to hike the trails.
