Peaceful Prairie Campsites consists of 200+ acres of prairie pasture bordering the south side of Scotts Bluff National Monument. Under the care of husband and wife team Frank Marquez and Lisa Betz-Marquez, the beautiful bluffs feature a rosy hue that glows on the hills at dawn and dusk.
Tent sites (including pop up campers, car and camper vans but not RVs or pull-behind trailers) are located directly on the prairie. RV sites (all offering 50 amp electricity) are in a designated area on crushed concrete near our corral.
All sites offer immediate foot access to hiking at various levels of challenge, including the south side of our nation's Scotts Bluff National Monument. Our 33-year-old sweetheart horse Tigger, is free roaming the area, and enjoys meeting campers. Tigger can be placed in another area if you would rather she didn't wander by for conversation.
Prairie guests have relished the feeling of having the place to themselves to enjoy the majesty of the landscape, the magic of our starry night skies, and the delicious drinking water that comes from an aquifer deep underground.
Lisa is the fourth generation of her family to live on Valley View Farm, located directly south of the prairie. Her family has been steward of these lands since 1925. Lisa is a member of a pioneer family. Ancestor, Martin Gering, came to the valley in 1887. As an early investor in the fledgling town, the town of Gering was named for him. We bought this land and built a 4000sqft barndiminiom to develop a therapeutic ranch, during COVID the vision had to be modified we still work with people at the ranch but in much smaller fashion than planned we are still wanting to privide opportunities for children and families within our community. We also take in rescue animals we have a 3 legged goat with no ears, a calf that was bling with broken leg, a foundered pony and there has been others along the way. We run this ranch as a family and bring in other family members to offer other opportunities. RV Power and water in a quite location 5 mins north of Cheyenne proper. Close to major highway i25 and i80. No extra charge for water and electric. No sewage dump available at this time. No fires during fire ban. Dogs welcome, please keep them on a leash if you are walking them. The sites are numbered and are close to the access road in. The area where the RVs are parked is on a compacted base so no need to worry about sinkage and or getting stuck (Semi Size RVs have made the journey and done fine). Clean well water and reliable electric. Wifi and site management available for all needs and or issues.
Animals are allowed but asked to be on leash. There are dogs who live on property please do not approach and or pet dogs. Owner and property manager is not responsible for injury if dogs are contacted. Please keep all pets on leash and close all gates behind you.
