My dad and mom built a house just West of the property, where I grew up, walking over the hill to visit Grandpa and Grandma. They sold the ranch when I was 10 years old. The place was sold 3 times before I was able to buy it back in 2021. The purchase included an RV campsite. My wife Lindsey and I thought, what a great way to meet people and share a little piece of our amazing Wyoming. There is nothing better in the world than waking up early in Rural Wyoming! The hillside rises steeply behind you, turning into more mountains as it climbs out of sight. It is generally a quiet rural area about 6 miles from a town with gas, groceries, coffee shops, restaurants, laundromat, camper showers, and other amenities available. There are many trailheads for hiking nearby as well as fishing access to the main river at multiple points across the valley. The Star Valley and Oregon Trail history museums in town provide a fascinating look into the history of this valley. And the largest intermittent spring in the world is a beautiful short hike from a nearby trailhead. In the summer you'll probably hear Red Winged Blackbirds singing in the willows along the creek below and spot brilliant Western Tanagers flitting among the bushes. Bring your binoculars and some patience and you will likely spot a huge variety of other birds as well! This hillside is tucked in the middle of many working ranches so you might see cowboys ride by on horseback, a herd of cows being moved from one pasture to another, or 4 wheelers moving around depending on the time of year. This is a boon-docking site with no water, power, or toilet available. Just lots of nature and views! Plan for pack it in/pack it out and help us keep this spot of nature a place where many people can enjoy the peace of time in the mountains. The parking spot its self is a flat graveled pad suitable for rigs up to a 26 feet in length or tent camping. A small sitting area with a pair of chairs is provided for you to enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sunrise if you like. There is a gravel lane that comes up the hill from the paved county road below, and then the campsite sits off to the side of that tucked into a corner of the steep hillside. Family lives in a cabin further up the hillside, but out of both sight and earshot from the campsite. Sadly no campfires due to the danger of a wildfire. Camp stoves are just fine. We love our pets, and yours are welcome! But please keep them on a leash due to the high volume of wildlife in the area, some of which can easily kill a dog. Verizon phones usually have service in this particular spot, other carriers tend to be hit and miss. Plan to check in sometime after 3:00 p.m. on the day of your arrival and check out before 11:00 a.m. so we have a little bit of time in between guests to do any mowing or other maintenance to the site area.

We love our pets, and yours are welcome! But please keep them on a leash due to the high volume of wildlife in the area, some of which can easily kill a dog. Verizon phones usually have service in this particular spot, other carriers tend to be hit and miss. Plan to check in sometime after 3:00 p.m. on the day of your arrival and check out before 11:00 a.m. so we have a little bit of time in between guests to do any mowing or other maintenance to the site area.

Weekend Trip to Little Cabin with a view

Linda's cabin was exactly what we were looking for - a place to get off our phones, relax and have fun with our pup. I spent most of the daylight hours outside wrapped in a blanket on the Adirondack chairs with my furry buddy at my feet. The cabin is well equipped with a a heater, microwave, mini fridge and electric kettle. There is also a propane BBQ just outside the cabin which we didn't use this trip, but will keep in mind for future visits. Our pup, Petra, had so much fun and I felt very comfortable having her off leash while exploring the property. She loved the treats Linda left for her each day! We were very comfortable; it was the perfect getaway.

Daniel’s property was easy to find. The site was gravel, but it was level. Daniel was very accommodating with an adaptor for our 30 Amp camper, as well as a water hookup. The view from our site, overlooking Douglas, was very nice with a beautiful sunset and sunrise.

Really beautiful spot! The cabin is the perfect size and well built. Huge windows overlook the view. You can’t see any neighbors which was perfect for us. Propane firepit was fantastic and Chas was a wonderful host! Very comfortable place - we hope to go back!

The cabin was a perfect mountain get away! Linda was extremely helpful, offering detailed directions, fresh cookies and fresh coffee in the morning. The property and view was breathtaking, pictures just don’t do it justice. The drive out is gorgeous and you get right into the mountains and backcountry. Amazing getaway for some peace and star gazing!

Very very very remote and quite site. We saw unbelievable stars and could hear a pin drop that night it was so quiet. We got in super late and because there was no GPS coordinates available had some issues finding it. The last instruction was a little inaccurate and it messed us up. The site was about 400 feet from the road and the instructions say 100 feet. Other than that it was good!
