We had a great stay at the Serenity Valley cabin! It’s a beautiful and very comfortable spot - a double bed on the first floor with a cozy fireplace, a couple of chairs and a cot. The host also left a lantern, first aid kit, additional trash bags, toilet paper and paper towels. Upstairs in the small loft area are two extra beds but it was way too hot up there during our stay. Out in the porch there is a couple more places to sit and a big table that helps with any food prepping + some basic cooking utensils (metal spatula, tongs, etc). Loved waking up to all the birds singing and watching the fireflies right outside at nightime! The hosts generosity, recommendations about activities onsite and surrounding areas and comfortable amenities make this place a step up from your regular camping. The fireplace was our favorite spot, 10/10 would recommend!

Serenity Valley was everything we hoped for and more! The fresh air, wide open views, and peaceful surroundings made it the perfect escape. The cabin was incredibly clean, cozy, and thoughtfully set up — it felt simple but just right. We loved being surrounded by nature, and the deer heads inside added a fun, rustic touch. It was quiet, relaxing, and just what we needed to reset. We’ll definitely be back!

Kim and David and the whole family are truly special people. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and your mission to share such a wonderful place. I’d advise anyone looking at this Hipcamp to book it; you’ll be in for a real treat. The farm dogs are loping, lumbering, and lovable. Such great personalities. My little girl had such fun playing with them, feeding the chickens, and exploring the tulips. Kim and David went above and beyond to make us comfortable and delight us. We will absolutely be back.

Serenity Valley was like heaven on Earth! Every thing was perfect, clean, relaxing and majestic! We were able to see so many plant sprout, birds and wildlife! Being set in the valley is like being on the set of fairy tale movie! I will be telling all of my friends about this hidden gem! Plus our dogs got to run free, which never happens in the city! 5 nights at Cozy Lofted Barn Retreat
Kim and David's lofted barn was the perfect winter hideaway. They put so much effort into their property and the barn, and it shows--the loft is incredibly comfortable, even at freezing temps. We stayed five nights, and got to see some fantastic winter mists, beautiful sunsets, and STARS. So many stars! Kim makes a phenomenal breakfast, so do yourself a favor and take advantage of that during your stay. The amenities are great--camp stove, sink, and camp toilet located on the lower floor of the barn. Eau Claire is a short drive away, with tons of beautiful trails and walking paths. Thanks again Kim, David, Izzy and Lula! We loved staying with you!

- Cabin Available Year Round - Campground Open May 1 - Oct 31 Tucked in a valley among rolling hills just 70 miles east of St. Paul, discover a stunning sanctuary surrounded by hardwoods, pines and birch groves. Meander a walking trail system through 30 acres of woods and prairie. In 2019, all 10 acres of fields were planted as dedicated Monarch/pollinator habitat. This is a full sensory experience - flowered meadow and spectacular celestial nights with serenading hoot owls, frogs, crickets and yips of coyotes in the distance. Our chickens do their daily forage through the yard and woods. This is a birder's delight turkey and deer being very common sightings. Our unique greenhouse and pergola are common use areas for all guests to enjoy. The pergola is a large cushioned area providing shade to read a book, charge a device, play cards, enjoy a beverage, eat a meal. Explore the greenhouse production of tomatoes, peppers, and ginger growing along with flowers and other hothouse varieties. Fill water containers, or use the large stainless steel sink (hot/cold water) and countertops to prep meals or wash up. You will also find a beverage service counter, yard games for use, and any on-farm items for sale in this area- firewood, plants, eggs and produce. Tucked discreetly behind the greenhouse is 1 of 2 drop-offs for garbage and recycling, and also 1 of 2 ultra clean port-a-potties found on property. *** We're family friendly! Adult occupancy is applied to 13 years and older. There is no occupancy charge/limit for children 12 years of age or under. *** We have 6 sites to offer. Providing a historical backdrop is a fully restored Norwegian cabin built in 1894 (completed July 2022). Adjacent to the greenhouse is 2 RV (or tent) sites with full water and 30 amp hookups (Meadow Camp East and West). 2 additional sites accommodate RVs or tents. (Hill Camp and Sumac Camp). One of which is a very large area that is ideal for groups (Sumac Camp). Lastly, we have 1 walk-in tent site, the most private (Pine Camp), a short distance into the woods behind the greenhouse. Don't let our sleepy little town deceive you. The locals have huge hearts - are generous creatives, with ingenious businesses that spill over with hospitality. Uber local is 2 Amish businesses within a 15 minute walk - a bakery and a woodworking shop. We're happy to direct you to other local highlights: on-farm meat sales, herbal apothecary, goat milk products, home goods, local microbreweries and quilt shops to name a few. Local town events draw huge crowds with live music and fun for all ages. We are so blessed to steward this private oasis and look forward to sharing it with you!

Wake up, grind your own local beans and savor the art of making a pour over coffee to enjoy on the front steps. The pantry is stocked with sea salt, pepper, some basic cooking herbs, local coffee beans, and herbal tea. We have a work desk with some writing supplies, colored pencils and crayons, board games, a record player with a few of our favorite records on hand, and a handpicked collection of books to cozy up and dive into. Enjoy your stay in our private and spacious (30X40) two-level historic barn and loft. Accessible by a modern staircase, your loft retreat features a queen bed with premium bedding, a trundle with two twin beds, inviting sofa, a pellet stove and cozy blankets, recycled floors, an antique wash stand and basin complete with soap, refrigerator, coffee corner with coffee maker (filters) and coffees/teas, and a children's corner featuring books and toys. Full electric as well. Downstairs (not heated) features a small kitchen area with sink and propane stove/griddle and a bathroom area with a portable/flushing toilet. Plates, bowls and cutlery are provided along with cooking utensils and a handful of pots, pans, and bowls. Salt, sugar, and olive oil also provided. We provide filtered water and cream in the refrigerator upon your arrival, and for families with young children we have a gate to block the staircase and outlet caps for added security. Twelve chickens are a part of our family, and you are welcome to feed the chickens clover or fresh flowers, and help us plant flowers or pick apples depending on the season! We also have two farm dogs and two farm cats who might want to say hello.
