This is part of an 863 acre farm that has been bought sold and re-bought. Cedar Creek me Anders through the center of this property it is absolutely gorgeous a 4 mile trail lead you to the other end of the property and back around. We are very close to quite a few farmers markets, wineries, breweries, and even a distillery in the valley. There is an awesome hike, 2 miles down the road known as Eagle rock with a sprawling view back towards the east, which is absolutely stunning.!!

Hawkwood Farm is a historic property in the Catoctin Mountains. The house dates back to 1803. At that time, it is documented that there was a blacksmith shop on the property. There is a functioning blacksmith shop today, as well as an expansive wood working shop. A ;band of rhyolite runs through the property that was used by Native Americans for spear points dating back to the paleolithic period. Presently, we strive to live as sustainably and as closely to nature as possible, being good stewards of the land that we are blessed to call home. A group of four of us stayed at this campsite over the past weekend and had such a wonderful experience! The entire area was clean, spacious, and beautifully maintained, with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The porta-potties were pretty clean, and there were a good number of them stationed out by the front. Firewood was delivered to us by Levi's daughter which was a nice touch. When she wasn't around, we could easily grab a crate of firewood ourselves near the front and pay by Venmo or cash. The firepit that we had at our campsite was great, tall and had great air flow holes at the bottom and a metal grate we could use for cooking. The provided picnic table was nice and very wide.
The campsite felt peaceful when we were sitting by the fire at night. The river near our campsite had a good amount of activity with people coming to fish for trout (which the owner stocks with plenty) which means we didn't have complete privacy during the day. However, our campsite's overall atmosphere made it easy to unwind and enjoy nature.
I would absolutely recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a relaxing, enjoyable outdoor escape. The location is perfect, only about an hour drive from Centreville, VA which makes the camping experience so much better we didn't have to drive far to experience some wonderful outdoors. Lots of sites to see in the area with hiking so we'll definitely be back to do more activities.

Hosts were great! Our car got stuck in the mud, and the hosts helped to pull it out. We also ended up needing help to start the fire, and they immediately came over to help. It is a great place to camp, especially if you are a beginner!

I had a relaxing night tent camping on the property. Devyn provided great directions and was very responsive in the app. The site is clear and level, with a nice raised fire pit. I also enjoyed exploring the trails around the wooded property. I would love to return!

Camping on the meadow at Hawkwood Farm was a delight. The campsite is back far from the road in the midst of fields, but you can drive your car along easy paths up an area very close to the campsite. The design and landscaping of the meadow area is very charming: a large ring area with mown paths and circles within it, and a firepit, picnic table, and some camp chairs in the middle. An extremely quiet and peaceful place. There's also a clean and well-maintained port-a-potty that's about 200 yards away from the campsite. I will likely come back for another stay (and hopefully persuade my girlfriend to join me)

Very nice spot! Very quiet and peaceful. My son and I mostly wanted to try out my diesel heater with two tents. Camping on this property is exactly how I love to camp. No one else around and surrounded by trees!

There is no micromanaging at this property.
They let you be you and enjoy yourself.
I ran out of firewood around 8:30 p.m. and sent a message about two cords which is $20 and he brought it out within 30 minutes..
Awesome property thank you guys so much.
I did leave a bag of trash bagged up right there by the fire pit.
I'm from out of town just traveling through and didn't know where to put it and I definitely did want to throw it in the woods.

We absolutely loved camping here! There is beautiful landscaping with mowed walking paths all around the property. The open field allowed for stargazing without obstruction of view from trees and we saw some shooting stars in the early hours of the morning. We woke up to the sounds of roosters from the property and surrounding farms. There is a provided grill to put over the fire to cook on. Chairs and picnic table also available. The property is also an 11 min drive from Gambrill Park if you’re looking to do some hiking!
