The Werry's Secret Resort is set in the woods on the Hocking River. The peaceful surroundings are found on a secluded township road half mile from the main highway. Reservations at the Werry's Secret Resort include the entire camping area and are not shared with other guests. If you plan to RV camp, van camp, pull behind, etc., the picnic shelter house location will work best for you. If you plan to tent camp, the riverside is also an option for you. To access the riverside, there is a short walk through the woods. There are no hook-ups and the camping on the river side is primitive. The site includes a picnic shelter with picnic tables, a cooking fire ring and a bonfire ring. There is also a swing set for children.

Bare Cove is a recreation lake with campsites. However, we are not your typical camp ground. We have no quiet hours, we do get loud and have a great time on the weekends. It’s not uncommon for beer pong or card games to go into the early hours. We are open to all ages and backgrounds, anybody that enjoys making friends and having fun on the lake. All guests must sign personal injury waivers to cover our 6. So about the property, it’s 120+ acres with a 5 acre man made lake that features blue waters, a beach area and tikibar. We have atv trails, private camp sites and group sites. Enjoy the day floating in the clear blue water, fishing (separate pond) or hiking. Our lake also features a launch pillow for blasting your friends up to 20 ft in the air! We do have large float's for rent, which are great for groups. Love the independent check-in. The property is fantastic. My daughter and I always go to the same spot every time. It is extremely peaceful and quiet. The valley that we camp in never has any wind. Perfect for tent camping. Caleb is always very accommodating and a great host.

Weekend Trip to Woody Acres

A nice Hipcamp done exceptionally well. The Stargazer site is next to the owners driveway but don’t let that stop you. Their property is quiet and peaceful with well maintained walking trails and a great privy. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed talking with the owners and getting to visit with their cat. It was a perfect evening in a location with many parks in the area.

This is a funky little spot, don't be put off by the drive in. Mike has created a number (5?) of leveled gravel full hook up sites pretty close together, but very nice. Sweet communal fire pit right on a deck overlooking a little river. Fantastic bathroom with running hot water and shower! We would definitely camp here again. Thank you Mike.

Great site- all the basic needs met. Electric and water hookup. Close to campus/ Athens. Was able to pull up next to a cement slab, which was great since it rained all weekend. Road was close but couldn’t hear traffic inside our camper. Well maintained spot. Definitely plan to come back a few times a year while kid is at OU!!

Amazing location, definitely off the beaten track. Loved the privacy, the scenic oasis and the trails along the river/creek. Our dog Gemma, loved to run free on her walks with her owners, including the rail trail. The colors of autumn were such an enjoyable treat from this location. If you’re in the area, it’s a gem!

What an awesome site! Especially if you’re into biking. The Moonville Rail Trail is just a stones throw away. The campsite has a maze of awesome clover paved walking trails. Great for walking your dog! Location is an easy walk to the Kings Hollow Tunnel and an easy bike ride to the Moonville Tunnel.

Paul Bunyan Campground is a no frills excellent Campground for full hookups close to a rail trail. Directions are confusing, but when you check in at the lodge as requested they will give you a campus map and it'll take you right to the campground. It appears there are other campsites that are no hookups, and there is definitely a dump station. A whole lot of service for $35 a night.

This is a great holler to spend a few days in. Having the camp store on site was so convenient and the whole area was clean and well maintained. The sites were very spacious and my dogs loved the freedom. The view was absolutely incredible!

Amazing time! Land was beautiful, we could make all the noise we wanted without bothering other campers. Dogs were running free. Stars were beautiful. Bathroom was clean, solar shower was cold but surprisingly nicer than expected! They had all the firewood we needed (which was a lot). We weren’t too far from hiking. We would absolutely camp here again.
