The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :) This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out. There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :) *Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable. So although your vehicle will be parked within 50 ft or so from site, you cannot pull directly up to the site and get any closer because of the trees. - SHOWER and PORTA POTTY - roughly a 5 minute or less walk from sites to shower and / or porta potty. Shower hours are 8 am- to 8 pm. The shower has hot and cold running water . You can drive to the shower if you need to. - RESPONSE TIME - This is a working herb farm/ sanctuary and we so do not always have our phones on us. We will make every effort to respond to you within a few hours. Evensong Farm is a preserved historic farm adjacent to the Antietam National Battlefield. We have set up two, almost identical, sites on a 60 acre parcel of our farm which is very private for our campers, but allows access to the lovely Antietam Creek. The sites themselves are about 500 feet apart so, while they maintain privacy when booked by different parties, can also be booked together for group stays. We have been hosting campers at our "glampsites" since 2021. Each off-grid site has a 12x16 platform with a 10x12 canvas side wall tent, a firepit and chairs, a cooking area with a grill and sink for washing up, a picnic table and benches, and a private bathroom with a composting toilet and solar shower bag. The main tent is set up for 2 people, although 4 is possible. The sites can handle a max of 12 people, with the use of additional tents (BYO or you can set up some of ours). We provide an electronic camp guide to all of our campers that include our recommendations for things to do in the area, as well as camping tips and other handy info. Inside the tent you will find a queen size bed, side tables, and a cafe table and chair set. We have put down foam flooring and a carpet for your comfort and provide numerous battery powered lights, lanterns and fans. In cold months we can add a propane heater to keep the chill away. We also have some games, maps of the area, decks of cards, and a fire extinguisher. Stepping outside the tent you'll find our long rainfly creates a covered porch where you can relax on our provided chairs. There are additional chairs around the firepit and each firepit has a cooking grate so you can cook over your campfire. We provide one bundle of firewood (including kindling) per night with your reservation. We do sell additional firewood, if needed. In our kitchen area you will find a picnic table and chairs, 5 gallons of drinking water, a clean up table that includes a foot operated pump sink with an additional 5 gallons of washing water, a grill (one site has propane and the other has charcoal), trash and recycling bins, grill tools, lighters, plus dish and hand soaps. Our farm is a mile and a half from the town of Sharpsburg, MD, home of the Antietam National Battlefield (and Nutter's Ice Cream Shop). You will find the Appalachian Trail to our east and the C&O Canal to our west (10 minute drive to either).

Where do I even begin! Nate and his crew were absolutely fantastic hosts!! I was not expecting the level of hospitality that they showed us, and we are beyond grateful! The camper was perfect, and the property was beautiful. My wife and son each caught fish in the pond, and my daughter fell in love with the barn cats. Nate's "night cap tour" of his distillery was fantastic and the care he takes in raising his corn and distilling his spirits shines through. I can't speak highly enough about how wonderful the entire experience was and my entire family can't wait to come back!

Pablo & Lorena have set up a wonderful oasis in a beautiful part of the WV wilds. They are very welcoming, the cabin has everything you'd need for your stay and more. Weekend Trip to CLOUD NINE VICTORIAN FARM

We spent the weekend at Tam's farm as a get away from Baltimore city hustle and bustle. Our family is 2 adults and 2 kiddos (2yo and 5yo). We had a wonderful, relaxing, and quiet weekend. Tam's homestead has everything we needed: activities for the kiddos like a tire swing, crafts, and a "horse," chickens to feed, and a sweet old dog and cats. The adults had a great time relaxing in the soft grass, enjoying the sunset and making fajitas over the fire pit. We spent Saturday morning relaxing and Saturday afternoon at a creamery nearby, visiting amazing vistas, and swimming in Cunningham Falls state park, all within a short drive. Tam's property is beautiful and historic and gives a little insight in how farm life felt back in the 1800s. Tam is such a great host - we could tell she's a seasoned hip camp host- and helped us with anything we needed including hot water for our coffee and cream and sugar. Tam goes the extra mile for her guests and it shows that she cares about her guests' stay. If you're looking for a relaxing trip away from the city, close to beautiful nature and state parks, comfy beds and sweet old dog, Tam is your girl.

The lodge was great for a mixed aged group and was well stocked for a place tucked in the woods. That said, some of the kids were not used to being surrounded by so much nature and had issues adjusting to sharing space with bugs. So maybe talk to them about the difference between hotels in a city and lodges in the woods. ;-)

Weekend Trip to Camps at Evensong Farm

Last year, I visited this site with my 6-year-old son and returned recently with friends, occupying both sites because we had such an enjoyable experience. The most common comment from everyone was "oh this is great!" and I wholeheartedly agree. Everything is exceptionally well-organized and maintained, with ample amenities to ensure a comfortable, stress-free, and enjoyable stay. The tents are spacious, with additional pitchable tents provided so there's no need to bring your own. The private, clean, and user-friendly outhouse and shower facilities are convenient. The kitchen and dining area are well arranged, and the host offers mess kits, cookware, and a large power bank for a small fee. The host is highly responsive to inquiries and communication. On-site hikes and scenic areas within a short drive add to the experience. A stream nearby offers pleasant wading, just a few minutes' walk away, and the two sites are easily accessible from each other. Located minutes from Harper's Ferry and Virginia/Maryland wine country, it’s an ideal low-fuss camping spot suitable for kids and well-behaved dogs. We plan to return frequently.

Weekend Trip to Tiny Hidden Ridge

My time at Tiny Cottage - there are so many qualities about this small house that let me block out the "noise" and reconnect with nature -- the area directly outside has a perfectly sized clearing for skygazing and campfires, it's internet-free (but wifi available if needing to connect - I didn't feel the pull and it was great!!), highly accessible water supply in jugs from the well (no running water) that frankly helped me feel more connected to simpler ways of life. The owners Tara and Shawn were responsive, courteous, and helpful. They anticipated my needs and provided with kindness. I didn't use the kitchenware, portable stove, or other cooking supplies but everything was provided, looked clean, and nicely arranged. There were some books available to read about macro farming and tiny houses (+more), and a twin bed with an extra bed available. The goats are so cool (SO COOL), and there were deer and bunnies scampering off every time I came up to camp. There's so much history to absorb nearby. I will end with - this spot gave me a great experience. Tiny Cottage, you've got my heart!

Weekend Trip to Sistermoon Farm

We had a great weekend staying at Sistermoon! The site was very nice and felt private, with room to roam around and look at birds & bugs. Good view of the stars at night, really cool to sit by the fire roasting marshmallows and looking up at the Big Dipper. A wonderful and memorable experience, would recommend to anyone who wants to go camping but doesn’t have their own tent quite yet :-)

1 night at Sassafras Hollow

We had a lovely time and would love to return. We stopped one night on the way and one night on the way home to break up our longer journey to western PA on our motorcycles. Directions and information were accurate and helpful. The family is very helpful at check in and with answering any other questions. It's an absolute oasis in the woods with a beautiful view of the valley. It's a great way to feel unplugged and relaxed while having all creatures comforts (hot shower, kitchen/grill, very comfy bed). After our first night's stay, we even made a point to get back early for our second night's stay to enjoy grilling, reading on the porch and relaxing listening to old records. My husband was inspired by all of the thoughtful, skillful wood working in the cabin. It's wonderful that this family are stewards of both the land and also the history of the property as they took the time to rehab the old cabin on the property. Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Opequon Quaker Camp @ Rolling Ridge

We had a wonderful experience staying at The Lodge at Opequon. The environment was peaceful, family-friendly, and surrounded by beautiful nature. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere made it a perfect place to relax and enjoy time outdoors. It’s a great spot for families and anyone looking for a calm and refreshing camping experience. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to friends and others looking for a memorable camping getaway.

3 nights at Casita Of LOVE (Panhandle WV)

We loved our stay! It was nice and secluded. We loved cooking on the campfire grill/tripod. The electric blanket worked great on the cold nights. Pablo and Lorena were quick to respond with any questions or issues. They respected our privacy. We would definitely stay here again.
