Booking the cabins.. fyi.. they're off grid - NO electricity, you Bring your Water, but I provide some lanterns for lighting.
Our campground cabins are about 4.9 miles from the 'Granite Falls Fish Ladder'. Visit this beauty at Mountain Loop Highway if you fancy a little hike.
Drive around 7 miles to the 'Lime Kiln Trailhead. The trail is full of amazing views and history.
Our place is only about 45 minutes from Seattle. Why not pack your tent and sleeping bags then drive here after work, then leave in the morning.

A 15-20 minute walk takes campers to a swimming hole in the cool Stillaguamish river for a dip or a paddle.
Even closer is Whitehorse Regional Trail (great for biking, walking and horseback riding) built on the bed of the former BNSF railroad through the North Stillaguamish River Valley, spanning over 27 miles. The nearly level trail meanders through the valley, rewarding visitors with picturesque, landscape views of forests, farmland, streams and rivers, and mountain vistas.
Sites have a generous fire pit and access to a Porta-Potty. For bathing I recommend cool dip in the Stillaguamish River.
In season there is also fishing, snowshoeing, concerts at the blue grass festival grounds, a rodeo, and so much more.

The *Purple Cottage* -- was found & salvaged (recycled!)-- moved onto the back of my property in 2012. This 16 X 12' place has been my studio in the past, but has offered overflow for friends & ; family. Nestled in the woods and ever-so-private, the cottage has a pull-out double futon, plus a small sleeping loft and can accommodate 1 -2 nicely (we will consider 3 if you have a small child, but it would be a tight fit!... There is a very small sleeping loft in the cottage.). There is a “en suite kitchen in the cottage that has a small fridge, microwave, and two burner stovetop cooking unit.
The cottage offers privacy in a wooded garden setting. The bathhouse, with hot shower, vanity and; toilet --are all steps away (and covered) from the main cabin.
The Purple Cottage sits on a shy wooded acre, with greenbelt buffers all around, maximizing the sense of privacy. our vintage Shasta Trailer across the driveway of the Purple Cottage is currently used as a music studio (and rarely as family/guest overflow), and I have my own small Artist Studio located also on the back of the property. Even with all the little enclave of buildings, The Purple Cottage retains a private feel all to itself, with reliable Wi-Fi available at the cottage. . It is located in a quiet little neighborhood, about 6 miles from Langley & 6 miles from Freeland.. Private beach access is across the road and a 15 minute walk up the street, where you can beach comb & explore the shoreline out at our little point. The private deck off the side of the Purple Cottage offers views of the gardens & flora, and has a little gas barbecue. There is also a delightful hot tub on the deck, which is a wonderful feature. An outdoor kitchen on the edge of the woods allows a roomier “camp cooking” experience with Colman stove & cold running water (season permitting).
We are located 6 miles from the picturesque town of Langley and equal distance from Freeland, on the south end of Whidbey. Our area is very *bike-able* and either direction will get you to town!

Come stay in our cabin at the estuary on Turners Bay where wildlife is abundant and easy to see. The Bamboo cabin is very private and has everything you need to just hang out. Saltgrass's location allows for many fun outdoor activities such as hiking at Anacortes Washington Park or Kukutali Preserve State Park crabbing, fishing, birding, bicycling and, the beach, my kids actually found a bottle with a message inside years ago.
Alternatively, you could explore the many little shops in the towns of La Conner and Anacortes. There are multiple activities available, I would suggest calling ahead in order to book kayaking, rock climbing, whale watching, or a sailing charter. You could easily take a day trip to the San Juan Islands by taking a ferry ride out of Anacortes, walk on or book ahead if you are taking your car. Also, the Swinomish Casino and golf course are within two miles.
While you're here you may meet our pup Turner, we also have two cats and several chickens. On the property are your hosts Jeri and Nancy, as well as our handyman Sean, Saltgrass boasts beautiful flowers, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, and yes, the Bay. Watch the sunset into the world famous San Juan Islands. Our property is
located on the scenic Chuckanut Drive. It is a 15 minute walk to Taylor United's Seafood Bar that has beer and wine. You will need boots just below the knee, or hiking shoes that will get wet. The Creek crossing is a little deeper this year. You will also be crossing a muddy area for about 20 yards, you will sink about 3 inches into the mud. The hike into the campsite takes 12 minutes. You need to contact me to check the tides, as to be able to get to the campsite. We need to hike in below a 5 foot tide. Starting October, the campsite closes for winter. Again , this campsite is Tide dependent. The first question to me should be, What is the latest we can hike in? I am not Moses, I can’t part the sea. Camp closed during winter October/ march

My husband & I put a lot of blood sweat & tears into making this a place our kids would enjoy during our weekend vacations to Leavenworth. We love hiking & there are a ton of nearby hikes. Despite it being located on the other side of the train tracks, we always seem to have a good time. We hope you enjoy it too!

Outdoor enthusiast will enjoy this glamp spot! Utilize the dry cabin equipped with two twin size beds, a pullout couch bed, a dining table with 4 chairs & extra seating. With plenty of space outdoors, feel free to pitch a tent or bring your RV for friends! It is a dry cabin meaning there is no running water. We have it powered with a solar panel which should give enough electricity to charge phones & lights as needed. There is also an outhouse with a compost bucket if you'd like to use that. The downside to this lovely parcel is it's on the opposite side of the train tracks, so there will be occasional noise. Maybe it adds to the uniqueness? Just keep that in mind as once in a blue moon, the train does stop so you may be stuck for a few minutes. Oh & those power lines sometimes make a crackling noise. Sometimes we notice it & other times we don't. Now that we got that out of the way, the pros are it's a great place to explore. There are a ton of nearby hikes. This spot is in between Stevens Pass & the famous Alps candy store, with each being about 15 mins away. There is a gas station/convenient store, a few diners, and a rest stop within 5 minutes. Historical Leavenworth is about 20 mins.
There is a spot for campfires, a small 2 burner propane stove & an ice chest for your convenience, but you will need to bring the propane.

Camping at Dave's Tree Farm was a very unique experience for us and we enjoyed it so much. First, you will get to enter into a big, secure property, riding through the whole area until finally reaching the cabin. The spot is amazing, situated very close to the mountain face - a beautiful view. Everything you need for camping is there. And we enjoyed sighting a big deer too. We recommend it.

Genuinely blown away by our stay at the Potting Shed. If you are coming through Snohomish you must stay here. It is a beautifully maintained space with lovely trails, stunning landscaping and the warmest of hosts. We came for a wedding and booked as a last resort because hotels in town were insane. We are so grateful we did. We are already planning another weekend to come up so we can truly relax and enjoy our time at the potting shed. A must book.

3 nights at Simple Roots Ranch
We LOVED our time at Sharon and Dave’s amazing spot. Everything is exactly as described, appointed so thoughtfully and carefully. The property is a delight and is cared for with so much skill and intention. It was such a gift to be able to relax and spend time in such a serene haven. Cannot recommend them enough and hope we are able to make another little trip out sometime.

Our family had the most incredible stay here! We came with our 9-year-old daughter, and it was such a special experience from beginning to end. The hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome—they were some of the kindest people we’ve ever met. Clare served us beautiful coffee served on an elegant platter, which was such a thoughtful touch. We loved the farm tour and getting to learn about the property, but our daughter’s absolute favorite part was collecting fresh eggs from the chicken coop each morning. Those are memories she’ll never forget. The peaceful setting, genuine hospitality, and attention to detail made this so much more than just a place to stay—it felt like visiting friends. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already talking about coming back. If you’re looking for a unique, relaxing farm stay with amazing hosts, we can’t recommend this place enough!

Weekend Trip to Ascent Basecamp
My family and I rented both floors of the cabin (Over the River and Through the Woods) over the 4th of July weekend. We are not big outdoor campers, so this was an incredible and unforgettable experience for us.
The site was clean and well-maintained. You receive a key to access the bath house, which is shared with the other lodgers. We appreciated that Mark informed when the other party arrived. (P.S. turn off the water when shampooing/washing to maintain hot water and conserve energy!)
Mark was communicative both before and throughout our stay, is available on site to answer questions/provide tips about the surrounding area. My favorite part was the communal aspects offered; being one with nature while having opportunities to chat with others sharing the space.
I will never forget the rotation of: sauna, dip in river, hot tub. The window of the sauna overlooking the river alone is priceless, but with this rotation, nothing can compare. Can also 100% attest to the powerful river overpowering other campers. It was a restorative, healing trip that I would recommend to anyone and everyone - I know I'll be back!

Weekend Trip to Simple Roots Ranch
Sharon and Dave’s potting shed was a fantastic summer weekend getaway! The shed and surrounding gardens were so gorgeous and easy to relax at. They were so hospitable and we truly enjoyed spending time with their dogs and relaxing in the hammock. We brought all of our camping gear but their set up is so good, we didn’t need to use much of our stuff. Such a unique and memorable visit and we’d absolutely stay again!

We had such a great time staying at Grace’s cabins! They are beautifully built, well maintained, and have a great amount of privacy to hang out and let the dog sniff around / roam a bit. Just make sure you bring some gallons of water. The little heater inside the cabin was awesome and kept us plenty warm. We came out for the 4th of July and they were gracious enough to allow an early check in that day, so that we could leave to go see fireworks and come back late/after dark to sleep later that evening. Such a great spot and very sweet hosts!

We loved glamping on Grace's land. It was exactly what we were looking for in our first glamping experience with our 6 month old. The cabin was clean and cozy. The stove kept our cabin warm all night and my baby never work up because he was cold (only when he wanted more milk). The grill worked perfectly. The porch was perfect for lazy and restful hangs, with plenty of space for my husband, baby, and I to lay down and play games. Would definitely come here again.
