Weekend Trip to ELKS Beach

We booked this site over the 4th of July, and it was a beautiful spot. private yet close to anything needed that may be forgotten. The lake is clear and pretty. The property was kind enough to allow sparklers and the firework show around the lake was spectacular! A lot of amenities are provided or can be added on, which helps save space on the trip over. We are a family of 4 with 2 medium-large dogs. The space was enough for our 6 person tent, a shaded tent, and a bathroom/shower tent. We filled it up, but it worked! We ended up having to leave early, due to our dogs. They have terrible camping manners we found out, and they were sucking the fun out of it. The host was amazing all the way around. amazing with booking, and questions about the 4th. Amazing when they heard why we packed up early, and offered us a return stay when/if theres a better time for our family. Very friendly family who is very gracious for sharing this space with others! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time camping on this property. It’s expansive and peaceful. We played frisbee in the grass and it was wonderful having so much space for my children to explore. Beautiful walk down to the water. Great beach with exquisite rocks. Water had about 25 ft visibility. Morning sun and afternoon shade at the campsite. Nice and level for the tent. Lisa is wonderful and even helped us find the best fireworks show! She also let my two daughters meet her horse and pony. I highly recommend.

This is a beautiful spot with stylish touches, little nooks for reading and views, so much space, flowers all over, and comfy chairs! Unique find that would be great for a little group of friends and/or family. I have been recommending it to everyone!

Absolutely wonderful and perfect ✨ I booked this property for three nights to celebrate my birthday with a handful of friends and it was a complete hit. I got so many compliments on my ability to book awesome hipcamps - as if it’s difficult hahaha! There are so many options for sleeping styles and lots of space to spread out and take time or connect however you please. The hosts were super communicative and very kind and helpful. They provided so many necessities, so if we forgot something we were able to make due. I also had my two dogs with me who were very comfortable and at peace there. There’s a ton of sniffing to do, and lots of bushes for them to explore and follow animal trails through. Just be aware that there is no fencing behind the shower/hammock area. My very exploratory dog did manage to find his way out of the bushes - which are thick, mind you - but as long as your dog as good recall this shouldn’t be an issue. And there’s always the ample fenced in area for pups who aren’t so solid on the recall! One other thing to note is that the property is on a hill, so you will be walking up and down small gravel hills a fair amount. This wasn’t a problem from anyone in my party, which included small children, as young as two, but seems like a good thing to be aware of for folks with disabilities. There’s flat areas and various paths with varying incline to get up and down the property though, so it’s pretty inclusive. 100/10 will be booking again in the future.

We loved this space! Perfect for a large group of people, tons of space to spread out, nice and quiet. The landscape is gorgeous. Not tons of perfectly flat land, but overall the space is vast, open and beautiful. You’ll find the perfect spot to pitch your tent :) We will definitely be back! The hosts were great, porta potties cleaned many times a day, potable water is close by.

Absolutely perfect glamping getaway! The site is so beautiful - so many sweet little vantage points to enjoy a different angle of the lake view and a new slice of nature (especially loved the tucked-away hammock nook!) We felt safe with our dog and kids running around. And the site was so well equipped it actually allowed us time to simply relax and enjoy family time (vs the usual chaos of camping setup/take down). We will happily come back!

This was a wonderful home base for our two family groups to camp together. Spaces were well maintained (mowed grass and wood chips) and there were ample level areas. The fire pit was great, the picnic tables were strong and sturdy, and we appreciated the provided (by $$$ donation) firewood available at the site. The lavender farm was beautiful and just a couple of weeks from full bloom. Site was 5-10 minutes from the "town" part of Randle where groceries, espresso, and other provisions were available. On our rainy morning, we stopped at the Mountain View Timberland Library to play in the mushroom house. Great jumping off point for hikes, waterfall exploration, and more.

Beautiful view! Hard to find such a special quiet private spot and this nails it! The fenced in area is great for the dogs. The area around the airstream is not fully fenced - if you have dogs that like to wander it is easy for dogs to find their way to the road. Very comfortable and beautiful place to hang out. Host was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Definitely recommend this place.

Nice nook for camping with a few friends. We weren't able to enjoy the fire pit due to rain but there was one available in the grassy area. Directions on our phones were incorrect. When I called Ryan he promptly picked up and walked us through getting to the correct spot.

3 nights at Cozy Canal Camp

We really enjoyed this private and semi-primitive camp spot that Karla has set up. It was extremely nice to have a very clean port a potty to use. We also really appreciated all the free firewood Karla provided. Neighborhood was very mixed use with permanent homes scattered amongst other camping sites. There was some noise during the day- chickens, dogs barking, chainsaws and the like- however the spacing of the lots and the topography really help to lessen the sound as it travels and it was not a bother to us at all. Evenings, nights and early mornings were SUPER quiet! We also had the joy of being here during Shrimpfest, which was an adorable local festival in Brinnon. There are many beautiful beaches and mountain trails to explore and don't forget to check out Rocky Brook Falls- an absolute gem. We would love to return to this wonderful spot in the future!

This secluded meadow has sweeping views, including a stunning shot of Mount Rainier on clear days. Surrounded by forested land including a park preserve, the land is quiet and private. A great place to watch birds, access multiple park trails by foot, or just enjoy being outside in nature. There are old fruit trees on the land that give plentiful fruit (most years) starting in August, and depending on the time of year you'll also find blackberries, huckleberries and salal berries. Additional tent sites are tucked into the trees. Serving all is an outdoor/covered compost toilet tucked into the trees a couple minutes walk from the meadow. There is also a spigot with hose where you can rinse off gear etc. A public swimming hole on Lake Florence is a short drive way, along with beaches. Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R&R as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups, and in order to keep the camp private, larger groups are given priority. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area with an electrical outlet, a water hose, and a five gallon jug for your use. We have solid firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games and hammocks are available to rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild so bring your tromping shoes. No city lights here, the stargazing is amazing! You'll enjoy communing with the farm animals, the goats are especially hands on and love the attention campers give them, while the chickens and ducks are mostly just fun to observe. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Just five minutes down the road, Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground for the kids. If you're looking to explore the area, Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all just day trips from here. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet in the middle getaway. When returning to camp, enjoy what our property has to offer. Of the 11 acres, 10 acres are comprised of a Cat II wetland, a Cat III wetland, and their associated buffers. A trail winds down to Mill Creek just 1/4 mile downstream from the outlet of Lake Isabella. Here the creek is wide and it is permissible to hand launch kayaks and canoes. The trail is 1/3 mile long and the shoreline is required to remain unimproved, but the reward is access to conservation shoreline rarely seen by man. The lake is 200+ acres and boasts Lake Isabella State Park and a DFW public boat launch for easier access. Our wetland is critical for maintaining water quality for the local shellfish industry; access is confined to the trail and creek access needs to be gentle. But if you pause for a moment along the shoreline you'll be rewarded as wildlife begin to stir from their hiding places. Song birds, rabbits, deer, voles -- yes. But also river otters, beavers, ducks, cormorants, and owls. Mountain lions and coyotes are possible, and salmon run Mill Creek. Back at the RV site there is a picnic table for cookouts and a large propane fire pit with half-moon seating - perfect for roasting S'mores late into the evening or stargazing in a region remote from city lights. With just a single RV site, our nearest neighbor several acres away, and only State land between us and Hwy 101, you can expect a private stay in a forested setting with easy freeway access to the Olympics on one side of the property and an idyllic private creekside nature preserve on the other. Malaney Creek Farm

Welcome to Rainier Roadside RV, the ideal base camp for visiting Mt. Rainier! The closest RV site to Rainier's Nisqually entrance and a two minute drive to the gate! Beat the morning rush and be first into the park. Site amenities include a covered pavilion for afternoon picnics, a central fire pit area, electrical connections, and trash bin. This desirable location is both close to the entrance but also the road. During the busy season the line for the Nisqually entrance can back up over three miles long. This campsite is close to the park and less than a mile to the gate. This mean a couple things: You can be the first in line in the mornings, but traffic also backs up past the campsite starting around 8 am (see picture of road proximity from Google Earth for reference). The road traffic dies down in the evenings, as visitors tend to leave the park before dark. When you're not in the park check out the local sites including The Elbe Outdoor Shooting Range, Nisqually River (387th Ave Ct E), Ice cream at Elbe Junction or the Wildberry Restaurant across the street, just a stroll away! I appreciate feedback and reviews, I'm always trying to make the experience better!

Nestled in beautiful Mossyrock, in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains just off White Pass Scenic Byway in western Washington state, Blue Sheep Farm is less than a mile away from one of the best fishing holes in the state (Swofford Pond), and from Riffe Lake’s heavily-booked Mossyrock Campground. Our 20-acre property features densely-forested mountainside trails, a seasonal creek and pond, with a variety of hardwood and evergreen trees. Surrounded on three sides by Christmas tree farms, our farm is the last bit of wilderness left in the area. Only an hour from Mt. Ranier’s legendary winter sports, with hiking, fishing and festivals all both here and nearby, our farm provides a perfect Base Camp for your any-season getaway! Your campsite has 15a power and water, and gravel parking, and is located by the beautiful Western style brown barn at the end of Naylor Road (at the "End of County Road" sign). Note that the site has been leveled but is NOT perfectly level; it is however within the typical leveling ability of RVs at the size limits stated. The farm is located on a steep hillside (12% grade); there is only so much we can do. But the stunning views more than make up for any inconvenience, in our experience. Ovis Aries is the scientific name for “domestic sheep”, and indeed, we raise Romney sheep of all colors on our farm! You may also meet our sweet and friendly Morgan Horse mare, Naya, who likes to follow visitors around like a very large dog. We also have a small orchard with apples, persimmons, cherries, blueberries, and a pear, peach and almond tree beside the barn. We farm using organic, no-till, permaculture, silvopasture and forest grazing practices, and the sheep are entirely grass-fed, producing meat of the healthiest-possible quality. If fiber arts is your jam, we have a beautiful wool workshop, with a 40" 4-shaft, 6-harness Louet Hollandia floor loom, a 32" Harp rigid heddle loom, 5 spinning wheels, a drum carder, and numerous other fiber tools for scouring, prepping, spinning, dyeing, weaving, felting and knitting wool. One on one and small group classes are available with reservations. We also have a business center, including fast StarLink Wi-Fi. Farm Tours are given on request.

The pass also provides access to the nice and clean showers at one of the two parks. Hoodsport is in an ideal location: 45 minutes north of Olympia, or two hours from Seattle, it's an easy and beautiful drive. It is also the Gateway to the Staircase area of the Olympic National Park, one of the top eight things to do in the " Pearl of the Northwest." Places to eat: Honeybee Pizzeria and Grinder, Hoodsport coffee company (best ice- cream outside of Seattle, with " Olympic Mountain ice- cream"), and the best Mexican food for miles is 25 minutes away in Union, WA, at "2 Margaritas." They have great karaoke! There is also a fabulous music scene in Union. During the day you can walk the three-mile loop around from our driveway, OR you can go through our two locked gates (with the owner and their key) to go climb Staircase (25 ms away) or head to Hood canal for some fishing or to Hoodsport for the incredible Olympic Mountain ice-cream Amenities: a. Patio: You can use the owner's patio during the day (9 AM -12:00 PM and 3:00-7:00 PM) to relax in style or to grill your meal ($15 add-on for cleaning the grill and providing the propane). b. There is a porta potty available c. You have access to the Lake Cushman lakes and full restroom with showers (Lake Cushman or Lake Kokanee), when attended by the owner through the gateson Dow Mountain. c. You will be given a guest pass by the owner for the duration of your stay, when provided a $75 refundable cash deposit for the pass (paypal is also accepted). d. Small boat parking: there is secondary parking available at a lot on pavement which you can leave over-night for an additional fee of $30/ night. Please note: Youck as the road from the pavement is a gravel road 3 miles long.
