There is 20 amp electric (which can safely power a 30 amp rv unless you run too many things at once) and water (hose). There is a porta-potty and a shower shed with a tankless water heater for your convenience. We also offer the option of a small bunk room in the barn. Heated and cooled (fan) with a small "kitchen" area, it has a pull out futon which sleeps 2 and requires you supply your own bedding and towels. 1 Hour to Mt. Rainier National Park. 1 1/2 hours to Olympia National Park. 2 1/2 hours to Mt. St. Helens. 1 hour to Seattle. Close to Puget Sound and loads of nature spots. Local hiking and fishing aplenty. Our property is surrounded by nature, yet only a 5 minute drive into town where you will find charming shops, restaurants, cafes and coffee houses. There is also a fabulous movie theater. And only 15 minutes to the Red Wind Casino. There is a railroad track next to the property, but it is only used on Tues. and Thurs. between 10 am and 1 pm when a short train passes by and then returns. Rarely, it may have an additional passing but not often and it has never run after dark or early morning. (It is a military train so pretty punctual). (Also, as we are only a 5 acre property, we are close enough to roads that you may hear some traffic. They are county roads though and not highly traveled for the most part.) **Trigger Warnings: We are near the military base of JBLM and so you will occasionally hear their military doings. Country neighbors occasionally do some target practice, so you may hear some shooting. This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. No tents, please. Also we have NO public restrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. We had a wonderful experience staying at Traci and Khris's property. All the communications after we made the reservation were clear and directions and instructions simple. Traci was there to check us in and help get set up. The property is beautiful and quiet with horses and chickens nearby. We stayed there in our travel trailer while doing a kitchen remodel nearby but look forward to going back when we can relax under the beautiful trees around the firepit! Definitely recommend!!

This was our second time staying at Steve and Starla’s campsite! The property is spacious and well kept, also close to the Mt. Rainier park entrance. Although the weather this time was not ideal, our group had a great time during our trip. Thank you to Steve for suggesting site 2 which is a little higher ground and surrounded by trees to keep us a little drier during our stay. The hosts were able to answer any questions we had in a timely manner. Overall I would highly recommend this campsite. Thank you again for hosting us and wish you well in the future!

Weekend Trip to Bee Inspired Garden

Kay was out of town while we stayed here but her sister Liz rolled out the red carpet for us! Fresh flowers, warm cookies, firewood, veggies from the garden, and of course the gift of time to show us around the beautiful property! The kids loved feeding the chickens, frolicking in the garden, and tasting the sweet honey from the bees! The site was clean and level and never had bees near us. The views of the mountains and gardens were breathtaking and can be seen right from the site. We brought our telescope and had great views of the full moon, stars, and even several planets. It was very quiet and peaceful. Perfect little weekend getaway. We will definitely be coming back again! Would recommend for sure

This will be an odd review because I have not been to the site yet. I made a reservation for earlier in September but then had difficulty getting my van back from an up fitter. I could not make my previously paid for reservation, but Barb has been absolutely terrific!! I stayed in touch with her and let her know what my troubles were and she has been an angel. I will be getting there within the next three days, Lord willing, and I am certain beyond any doubt that my stay there will be extra extraordinary. These are class ass people. We enjoyed Steve Sarah's location. They have a beautiful property with a large area for r30-ft trailer and the view of Mount Rainier is excellent. Steve was on site and attentive during our stay and we felt very safe leaving our trailer. The campsite is far enough from the road where the road noise was not an issue. There was a very clean portelet on site. We would stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Cowlitz River Rentals

We were a group of 3 families celebrating a birthday, and we had a fantastic time. The camp spot has gorgeous views, privacy and great river access. The porta potty was very clean, no unpleasant smells with hand sanitizer and TP. We enjoyed waking on the property, spotted 2 foxes and many cool birds, and floated on the river a couple of times. It is really dusty, but it's worth it anyway. We are already making plans to come back, great spot!

We really enjoyed our one night stay. Kay was very welcoming and accommodating. The gardens are beautiful and her educational tour was great. Large private campsites with room to spread out. Also a great hilltop spot for night sky viewing!

The campsite was amazing! There were two sites nearby but it still felt very quiet and private. The whole land is very large and my dog had a blast playing within the fenced dog yard. The river trail was also fun to hike. A little cold to swim but my dog had no complaints wading. We also bought amazing honey from their local bee farm. The only things we had complaints about was not about what they could control: our neighbors had their dogs off-leash and one of their dogs pooped near our site, and the gunshots that could be heard pretty close by spooked our dog. But overall highly recommend!

Camped here in our tent trailer. The Shady Grove spot was nice and fairly private from the other areas. They have their campground well laid out and kept nice. Grass is green and well kept in each site.

Tips for snagging a campsite

Though RVs are allowed to park at Cougar Rock, Ohanapecosh, and White River campgrounds, they have no electrical, water, or grey water hookups.
Each campsite is limited to a maximum of two vehicles, two tents, and/or six campers. Most campsites are big enough for only one tent and up to four people.
Campsites at Cougar Rock, Ohanapecosh, and White River campgrounds can all be booked in advance online, with availability opening on a six-month rolling basis. The sites at Mowich Lake are available only on a first-come, first-served basis

When to go

Mount Rainier National Park is open year-round, though heavy winter snow typically closes all but the Nisqually Entrance. At this time, roads at higher elevations may be closed or require snow chains or winter tires to access. July and August are busy times, when popular parking lots and entrances come with long waits. Aim for a mid-week visit, or go during the late spring or early fall to beat the crowds.

Know before you go

The visitor center at the Longmire Museum is open year-round, while the Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center at Paradise closes on winter weekdays. The Ohanapecosh Visitor Center and Sunrise Visitor Center are open in summer.
When making a summer visit, try to arrive early (before 10am) or later in the day (after 2:30pm) to avoid peak crowds and wait times.
Concessions are sold at Longmire, Paradise, and Sunrise. You can also stock up in the nearby towns of Ashford and Packwood.
Cell service is unreliable in Mount Rainier National Park, but there is wifi in the Jackson Visitor Center at Paradise.
