Sagebrush Hollow

1 site · RV, Tent6 acres · Chelan, WA
Come relax and enjoy the views of the Columbia River and the North Cascades. Plenty of sunshine with epic sunsets, our property is where you come to unwind and soak in the sun when the east side of the Cascades is socked in with clouds and rain. If you want to explore the area, it's about a 10-minute car ride to the Columbia River and 20 minutes to Chelan and all that is offered there. Our favorite activities when we visit are to listen to the birds chirp and take in the surroundings. There are several lava rock piles that speak to the long and volcanic geological history of the area. We also really enjoy walking the dirt road on the ridge. It provides some of the most incredible views in the area. The dirt road section over the ridge can be a little rough and dusty and it's recommended that guests have a medium clearance vehicle, such as a Subaru Outback. However, a guest once drove their Honda Civic down to the site, so it really depends on your comfort level. If in doubt, just ask! We have a security camera on site we use for wildlife sightings and to check the weather. If the idea of having the camera bothers you, feel free to place a blanket or some other type of cover during your stay. We can also turn the camera to only face the entrance. Just let us know. Please respect the surroundings and others' property. There are several other vacation cabins in the area and everyone enjoys their peace and quiet. If you're looking for peace and tranquility, Sagebrush Hollow is the place for you.

Whistlin' Pine Ranch Resort

15 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents500 acres · Pateros, WA
Exquisitely beautiful area formed by melting glaciers forming the "Alta Coulee". The Coulee can be experienced by hiking, horseback, and mountain bike, user fee applies. The campground is situated at the South end of Alta Lake, opened in 1946 and operated by my Grandparents until 1980 when my father decided to continue operation, adding Outfitting and Guide services into the Pasayten and Sawtooth Wilderness areas. Covid put a halt on business operations and this year is the first since 2019 that we are offering camping again. The lake is 220 acres known to Anglers near and far. Plenty of room for the sunseekers wanting to play in the water on paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, and water skiing. An 18-hole Golf Course resides at the North end of the lake and white water rafting just a few miles down the hill on the Methow River. Horse camping with trail riding is available at the Whistlin' Pine Ranch Resort this year, dry camping and portable pen or highline options only.

Site 1 is convenient, easy to access and great for tents and small trailers, and close to the community outhouse and wellhouse. Site 2 is the most private, ideal for larger groups and tucked among the trees; ideal for many tents or camper and located on grassy flat land. Site 3 (not currently available, working on the site and amenities as of 4.21.24) includes use of our on-site camper with some extra space for additional tents and access to community outhouse and wellhouse. Looking to accommodate a larger group? Contact the host for a discount to rent all three and have the entire property to yourself! Further detail on each site page. This retreat is dedicated to sustainable living and development. Our well is powered by solar panels and batteries, the outhouse is a biogas system which has a hand pump for flush, and utilizes human waste to produce methane and fertilizer. The methane is then plumbed to a single burner in our kitchenette and can be used for cooking or boiling water when enough methane is present! Booking this hipcamp is supporting sustainable living and development! :D If you like nature, there are many features for you. From hiking to biking, off road access, hunting, or wildlife viewing, Derby Canyon offers it all. Enjoy a day in Leavenworth, the Wenatchee River, mountain bike trail, or a hike in the mountains. Though most of the area does not receive cell phone service (I have Verizon) we do get service at this site. Located about 5 miles off the county road, cell service will fall off for the first 4 miles, however most people will have service at the site itself. Please PRINT or DOWNLOAD the directions I will email you for OFFLINE use! For now we are offering this site as a private escape campsite to enjoy the depths of nature in a serene setting. Wood fires are not allowed but we do have a propane firepit available for use free of charge - bring your own propane!
