Cute little wood cabin on a large, quiet lot, with covered porch looking out towards the water near the end of Cole's Point. Gravity fed fresh water at the sink on the porch. Inside, includes couch, queen bed, twin bed, fridge with chilled water, freezer, microwave. Nicely heated in winter and stays cool in summer. Sitting in comfy camp chairs on the covered porch can be magical during a spring rain. Outhouse with nightlight and composting toilet. Firepit with kindling and firewood in winter. (Summer fires are not allowed.) Short walk to the beach to the north. Short walk south to the edge of the Oro Bay as well. Kayaks can be rented on island. (Not related to the host.) Multiple hikes / walks within Jacob's Point, Andy's Marine Park, and 7 other parks on island. One wonderful little grocery store on island for fresh or incidental items along with one cafe, and one restaurant. The historic Johnson Farm and Museum can be a great place to sample island life from 100+ years ago. Pay extra for use of the twin electric bikes to ride the many quiet, scenic roads around the island. These roads can take you to the hikes, the store, cafe, or sample the sights like the 1928 ferry "Ocean City" slowly sinking into the mud in Oro Bay. There is often deer, hawks, eagles, coyotes, bunnies, and sometimes humpback or orca whales, all within sight of the cabin. It's a great place to escape the hectic pace of the city and enjoy the solitude interrupted only by the sound of the birds, and perhaps the distant trains about 3 miles away. Writer looking for a spot to focus on your next book? Reader wanting to finish a good book? Both are a perfect fit. Dogs are welcome but cannot run free due to the native animals that call the area home. The ferry is a 1 hour walk so cars are recommended. 10 acre homestead on the outskirts of downtown North Bend at the base of Mt. Si. Breathtaking view of the mountain, peaceful pastures, amazing wildlife. Walk or ride to all the charm of Downtown North Bend (0.7 miles), The Snoqualmie River (0.5 miles) or The Snoqualmie Trail (0.5 miles). Close to Rattlesnake Lake (6.5 miles) and a huge variety of hiking trails. The farm is regularly visited by elk. During the spring and summer there are (sometimes) cows, (always) cats, chickens, ducks, and three working dogs on the property. Hollow Tree Campsite is private, located on the far side of the pasture, next to a seasonal creek (dry in the summer). Jake's Corner is more open and located on the westside of the pasture. This time of year is magical with the dropping leafs and lush moss/fungus sightings. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quick getaway from the city to connect to nature. This camp site is very private and peaceful! We will be open from May 1st through September, 2026. We have a 3 night maximum stay per booking.
The site can accommodate up to two RVs or 3-4 tents depending on the distance apart. We allow up to 6 people per booking. The firepit and the Snoqualmie River are about 150' away from your tent or RV. We have a porta-potti at the camp site and also two picnic tables. Pets are welcome at our HipCamp, but we do require that you clean up after them. Near North Bend there are several hiking/biking trails including the trail up Mt. Si., Si View Park, and the Rattlesnake Ridge trail system. For shoppers, we have shops in town and the Factory Outlet Mall. For dining, there are several restaurants in North Bend.

Weekend Trip to Cole's Cabin on Anderson Island
We had a great stay at Cole’s Cabin. It was our first time to Anderson Island and we enjoyed it. The cabin was clean and warm and quiet. We happened to be on island the last day the store and cafe were open as the owner is retiring, so come prepared with everything you’ll need for your stay as those places are no longer an option for last minute provisions.

What a perfect spot! So happy my husband and I found out about Anderson Island and this cute cabin. With the short ferry rides and quick drive to anywhere on the island, this made for a perfect weekend getaway for us and our 7 year old. The microwave went out on us when we arrived but the host was quick to resolve the issue and replaced it with a brand new one. We loved reading through the books and also the private beach access close by, was our favorite part. It’s a nice wooded walk down to an untouched beach with sea glass and whole shells from lack of foot traffic and picking. The mattresses and blankets were so soft and cozy and even with a compostable toilet outside and no running water, we never felt like we were “roughing it” too much. The locals were so friendly and seem to love living there. Talk to them and they give great stories and insight. We chatted it up with folks and were given a private tour of the farm old homestead located at the historical society and bought some shirts and treats at the gift shop. We actually ended up staying an extra night since it was so nice and didn’t bring enough food but the golf course restaurant, that is very close by was open late and fed us while we watched the Seahawks game. Since we were out of coffee, we hit up the cute diner for breakfast and coffee after we checked out of the cabin and then drove to see the abandoned sinking ferry and old gas station. Still more we want to explore so we plan on being back soon!

If you like to camp in the winter, like to take your dog, and want a roof with a heater over your head, this is perfect! It was a perfect island adventure. Fred's special touches included easy access pottable water and dishwashing sink on the porch of the cabin, a clean/neat outhouse, a bug flap, heater, microwave, fridge, and COOKIES! We walked down to the beach, took a couple trips to beautiful parks, and enjoyed the views of the water from the cabin. We brought a tent/shelter and put it up for an extra "room" to enjoy the views and grilled cheese/tomato soup, hot cider, and apple crisp. We heard coyotes howling in the distance, owls hooting, saw deer, coyotes, and river otters. We truly had an island adventure we will always cherish and remember. Thank you Fred for providing us this opportunity!!

I loved staying at Fred’s cabin! Truly had everything you need including an incredibly friendly and thoughtful host. It was quite stormy the weekend we stayed but it was perfectly cozy in the cabin with the little heater :) Fred even let us know when he heard about a nearby orca pod, we didn’t get to see them as they went on up to Tacoma, but he let us borrow his binoculars and told us all about the island and its animal sightings! 10/10 stay and weekend- hope to be back soon!

We had a great experience staying at this cabin. It was cute, cozy, and easy to find. The beds were comfortable. We really appreciated having a fridge and sink, it made things a lot more convenient. The outhouse was clean and well-maintained. Fred was very friendly and welcoming, which added to the positive experience. Overall, a lovely place for a getaway. We’d definitely recommend!

This was a first time visit. The ferry was charming and cabin was very clean and well appointed. There was a lot of consideration into comfort and ease of use. We enjoyed dinner at the lakeshore restaurant. Went for walks in the woods on the island and slept very peacefully.

We enjoyed Cole's Cabin and equally appreciated Fred, the host, who was extremely personable, a wonderful conversationalist (thank you for the fun tidbits about the book/movie "The Art of Dancing In The Rain"), and went out of his way to make our stay positive, relaxing, and memorable...not to mention the delicious home-made brownies! We will be coming back to Anderson Island and Cole's Cabin in the future!

Couldn't recommend this property MORE. Literally the PERFECT camping site for relaxing and exploring. It would be great for families (horseshoes, hammocks, flowers, large areas to run and play), but with the giant property fenced and gated, it is an awesome spot for a solo female too (me)! Cannot wait to go back and see how much the land changes with spring.

Loved this glamping spot! A cabin with electricity, microwave and mini fridge made the perfect getaway. I tried it out one weekend with friends and liked it so much that I brought my kids the next weekend! Fred is such a fabulous host and so friendly along with everyone else I crossed paths with nearby. We brought our hammocks on stands and it was perfect for relaxing and viewing the Salish Sea and watching wildlife nearby and watching the night sky. My kids and I enjoyed swimming at Lowell Park on Lake Josephine too!

Beautiful, quiet and peaceful campsite. The lot sits behind a horse farm. There's a large lawn space for RVs or just kicking around a ball. The camp site is tucked away in the trees with a view of the river. Fits two 4-6 person tents. It's private and felt safe. We will definitely be booking here again!

My sister and I had a wonderful stay on Heidi's land. The property is beautiful and peaceful, with lots to explore. We had a great time wandering around the gardens and orchard, and Heidi was a kind and helpful host. We also loved that our dogs could run around and explore, and Heidi was super patient and accommodating with them as well.

Cole’s Cabin was exactly what we needed for an enjoyable anniversary getaway to nature without needing to rough it. The cabin contained useful amenities (mini-fridge, microwave), there was cell service in the area, the view was lovely, and the short hike to the beach access made it an adventure. We were uncertain about the directions to the beach, but Fred called us right away to guide us in the right direction! He was a very helpful host! 😊 We brought our dogs and were pleasantly surprised the island was pretty accommodating to dogs. Andy’s WIldlife Park and Freddie’s Dog Park are good for hiking with dogs and letting them off-leash. (Many of the other parks prohibit dogs.) The AI Cafe and the Riviera Lakeshore Restaurant allow dogs on their patios. We would definitely book the cabin for an overnighter again. The bed was comfy, there were good pillows, and the bedding kept us plenty warm. It felt very cozy as it rained outside, the rain stopping just in time for us to be able to enjoy the final concert of the summer at the Johnson farm (so much fun!). Anderson Island is beautiful, the community is friendly, and it feels remote, but it’s so close and easy to get to from the Tacoma area. ❤️

Jerretts land was amazing! He was a great host & made sure to orient us to the campsite. There was a fire pit, wood fired hot tub, a few trails, and good space to spread out. We were told there were three other groups but we never really encountered them. It was perfect for our group of four and pup.
