Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R& as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups and in order to keep camp as a single site, largeer groups are given preference. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is a resource area near the house with an electrical outlet and a Flexzilla water hose, so bring containers. We have really nice firewood bundles as well as fresh eggs for sale and lawn games, hammocks, etc., available for rent. While the campsite, play field, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild, so bring your tromping shoes. Birdsong comes early here, and the night is filled with the sounds of crickets. No city lights, so the stargazing is wonderful. The goats are gentle, curious, and deep body scratch lovers. The chickens and ducks are not hands-on but some, especially the ducks, will eat out of your hands. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out and keep the lid on the compost. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground, and is just a five-minute drive from camp. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet-in-the-middle location. Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all day trips, just an hour or two from here. We are Judy and Summer and Chula, mother and daughter and dog, and we are pleased you are considering a stay with us. Camp Colton is an awesome place to visit! Their property is large and has a lot of activities to explore (animal petting area, trails on the property, and a fishing pond). They've got a variety of awesome structures including cabins, a tiny home, yurts, and a communal covered fire pit gazebo. The Beehive cottage met my expectations perfectly, it was clean, warm, and tucked into the trees right by a creek that runs through the property. It was perfect for a quick getaway, while providing comfortable amenities during a cold and rainy Oregon fall evening. The bed is perfectly comfortable, and was made prior to my arrival. The host provided towels and linens, I didn't need to bring anything extra. Additionally, there is a covered back patio which is a perfect spot to sit out and listen to the babble of the creek and wildlife spot. I would recommend a stay here!

Weekend Trip to Green Mountain Lookout

We absolutely love this spot! Very private and great views. It poured rain and was very windy this weekend, but we hunkered down, watched movies and read- it was just what we needed! The only downside was getting into the spot. The directions are not clear that you need to back down into the spot- so when you get to the “driveway” you need to back down and it is a little steep. Unfortunately, even though I had read other reviews, we didn’t realize this point & ended up needing to back up onto the main road in 4wd (and luckily we have an F-350- our previous truck would not have been able to handle this even with 4wd). Make sure you assess before you head to the spot.

It was absolutely beautiful...an oasis of forest among the surrounding farmlands. We enjoyed to site, it was near the pond. sauna and outhouse, so everything was nearby. Nobody was at site 3, (which is pretty close by) so we had total privacy. We had a lovely time and would go there again!

The View is beautiful. Compared to a campground it is hands down the better option! The site is at the top of the owners driveway so there is some coming and going but overall was very quiet. You can't beat the views and I bet in the summer with the lake so close it is phenomenal. We would stay again for sure.

Weekend Trip to Camp Colton

Neil and Maci were exceptional hosts. We arrived after hours when it was very dark. Neil guided us in via telephone to our Yurt. It was like a Hallmark movie with the owls hooting, stream gurgling and fire crackling. Picturesque with the lights surrounding our yurt. Maci guided me through the registration process, pointed out dining establishments (highly recommend the Colton Cafe) and activities in the area. Loved our weekend and would definitely stay again.

Weekend Trip to The Lookout at Mayfield Lake

This was the second time we stayed at The Lookout - and it was even better this time. The Spud airstream was fully loaded with everything we needed, including amazing snacks for our day hike. The dome offered amazing views of the lake and was a magical place to see the sun rise and sunset. This is our favorite place to stay when we plan to visit Rainier. Highly recommend!

3 nights at Pleasant Places

This was an absolutely wonderful place to camp with dogs. We had six dogs among three people and had such a wonderful time on this property! The dogs were safe and entertained and had plenty of space to run and explore and play. We were able to go and enjoy the visiting goats and the ducks and the chickens. Sarah and her partner were super wonderful and welcoming, and we had a great time renting some of the games they had available.

3 nights at Pleasant Places

We had the best time at Summers Pleasant places! Three of us and six dogs, the mostly fenced in property and being away from the road created such a relaxing and stress-free few days. This was such a convenient location, close to convenience stores but having the whole back area of the property felt very private. We didn’t mind the farm animal noises or the other regular rural sounds. It didn’t bother us at all. Visiting with the chickens, and goats was definitely a highlight as well. The kitchen sink and counter space was incredibly helpful and well designed! It was so nice to not have to bring all of that extra gear. We loved being about to have a fire to cook over and cozy up to at night. Summer was very communicative and hospitable, answering all of our questions and accommodating us at her place on such short notice. We can’t wait to come back so the dogs can run free in the field again!

Weekend Trip to Green Mountain Lookout

We loved our weekend stay on Laura's property! The lake views were exceptional, and our hosts made a point of giving us a very kind welcome. They were very conscientious about giving us and our dogs space, resulting in a very quiet and calm stay. Lots of beauty to enjoy in Mossyrock!
