Trout Lake is a quaint little town situated in an organic valley surrounded by mountains with the main focal point being the majestic Mount Adams towering overhead. Breathtaking views of Mount Adams can be seen directly from some of the cabins and the grounds. Opportunities for fun adventures and activities abound within these beautiful surroundings, making Trout Lake Cozy Cabins the perfect place to escape and get away from it all.
All of the cabins are unique and special with different features to fit almost anyone's needs. All of the cabins feature new and very comfortable queen-sized beds, and all come with their own BBQ grill. Satellite television and free WiFi internet service is available to all guests in each unit. Rustic propane fire places have been installed in each cabin along with air conditioning units to make sure our guests are warm and cozy on the coldest winter nights as well as cool and comfortable on those hot summer days. Parking is ample within steps of each of the cabins and is more than big enough to fit snowmobile trailers, horse trailers, RVs, or any other toys you may want to bring along for your trip.
Trout Lake Cozy Cabins was formerly known as Serenity's, named after the restaurant that sat on the property. The Restaurant burned down a number of years ago. Since the restaurant building was rebuilt, we have been excited to have Mt. Adams Pizza on our property for the last 4 years. There are also a number of places to eat within a mile of the cabins including Mount Adams Pizza, the Trout Lake Hall, Post Office Coffee, and the Station Cafe.
The Mount Adams Ranger District is a great resource for additional information about the area and recreational activities. Of course, having grown up in the area, we are always happy to answer any questions you may have or provide you with a "local's" tip/suggestions. Don't be shy, we are very friendly people and will go out of our way to make sure you have a memorable stay with us!

Play in Hood River during the day, relax in the country at night. We're 6.5 miles up in the hills, called High Prairie, above the sleepy town Lyle.
Enjoy the peace on our 5 acre hideaway, wake up with the chickens.
Take a walk to look at Mt. Adams which is just around the corner. Hiking, biking, kite boarding, windsurfing all within a few miles of reach with never ending opportunities to get your exercise. Just ask for tips.
The land has mostly Oak trees where you can take your nap in your hang matt. The place is easy accessible, far away from all but still close to all Gorge attractions during the day. The town has a nice little convenience store, country cafe, Chinese restaurant, and new to our town "Confluence Cafe" right at the entrance by the Klickitat River - Awesome views - yummy treats and coffee. Matt and Ali are super cool, go check it out.
Grocery shopping is best done in Hood River, White Salmon or
The Dalles. Once up here, there isn't much, so come prepared.

It was a lovely tiny house for the evening and very close to Trout Lake Hall. We wish we would have stayed longer! The entire property with the outdoor living room and kitchen is so unique. We want to come back to the property with a larger group. Jimmy was amazing at communicating and although we never met in person, I hope to meet him and his wife next time!

Great place, very well equipped, private and secluded, but somehow only 7 minutes from town. We loved cooking in the outdoor kitchen and hanging in the outdoor living room. All the amenities run on propane which is supplied, we didn’t have to bring any fuel. Also lots of nice touches like hand soap at the sinks and hand sanitizer in the outhouses. We had a great stay and would definitely stay again!

Private and quiet lower camp despite the nearby road. Zero mosquitos. Nadja was a fantastic and authentic host, even gave us baked apricot strudel and extra veggies from her garden! A herd of deer and some wild turkeys came through. We would definitely stay with her again!
Note: If you have a dog, keep them near your tent/camper as it is the time of year for burrs. Our dog was covered with them.

Weekend Trip to CASCADIA ESCAPE - TIPI or TINY HOME
This is by far the absolute best place you could glamp in the area! The tiny home was the best hipcamp experience my husband and I have had since using the app. The outdoor living room and showers is an amazing unique experience you definitely don't find quite anywhere else. The land is beautiful and a prime location for the Ice Caves, lakes and so much more. Everyone in Trout Lake is extremely nice and happy to meet you with a smile as you go around town, even waving at you as you drive by. I highly recommend this place with a cheerful host like no other it truly is an experience of a lifetime! Including a very happy puppy that would love to play fetch :)

Great little spot! Amanda was easy to communicate with and provided me with answers to my questions. We had a group of 7 with 3 kids and it was a fun little weekend getaway that’s still close to Portland. Prepare for mosquitoes and horse flies though.

We had a phenomenal time at the lake - it was so beautiful and peaceful, and it was so much fun to paddle around the lake and jump off the dock. There were tons of fish jumping, so many different birds, and deer visited in the morning. We also had a rattlesnake join us which we were able to easily relocate, but he blended in so well with the ground so be really mindful of where you're stepping! For those bringing pets: there are foxtail-like plants growing up near the fence and lots of ticks, so make sure you're giving your animals a really thorough onceover when you get home. The bugs are definitely thriving and we got a lot of bites even with bug spray, but I'd happily pay that price all over again for such a lovely campsite. Might be worth bringing a screened in canopy if you're going to be spending a few days there. All in all, a really great experience and I suspect we'll be back!

This was a fantastic spot to camp. The pond is absolutely beautiful, so much wildlife and perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking and fishing! Very quiet and relaxing. We had a lovely time, should have stayed another day. Any poor reviews are ridiculous and should be disregarded, those are really all about that person having a bad day. Bug spray is probably a good idea, though for us circumstances such as wind and cooler nights made it so we didn’t need any. This spot is true to what you see.

Weekend Trip to Justesen Ranches
Great place, super clean. It also happens to be outside of Portland's horrible light pollution, giving fabulous Milky Way views. The biggest downsides are that there isn't an A/C (which is mentioned in the property's listing) and the outside floodlight does not have a switch accessible to turn it off. FYI - There is a taxidermied deer head on the wall, which is shown in the pics.
There are many wonderful things about this place - starting with the location. If you want to be away from people with great views of the sky then you will love this place. The kitchen is well stocked, the bathroom and shower are very clean. The queen bed isn't bad at all and the kitchen is well stocked. I imagine if all the bunks were filled with people it would be pretty snug in there. There is a small TV with Dish.
Finally Verizon cell service is bad inside the cabin, but outside we got a good 4G signal.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and will return.

We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. It was clean and spacious with plenty of room for our dog to run around. It is surrounded by beautiful oak trees and since the leaves hadn’t come in yet, there was plenty of sunlight, 0which was great for keeping our solar panels charged. There is a big opening to 0 sky so you would still get some good sun and views even with the trees filled in.
Nadja was really nice and helpful, making sure we had what we needed. She was super thoughtful and provided a ton of good suggestions and even let us borrow bug spray for our dog for hiking.
Currently, water is available at the top of the driveway. We have a 20ft trailer and were able to manage it without any issues. But Nadja did mention she may be bring a hose down to the site.
There was a bit of road noise during the day, but it wasn’t constant and was much quieter than the main roads. At night, the site was pretty quiet and very peaceful.
It’s a beautiful spot and we had a comfortable and relaxing stay. It was a great place to hang out at and a nice location for surrounding hikes.

This is the perfect place if you need to get away from it all. Close to great hikes and the Timberline Lodge for a one-of-a kind stop, plus skiiing. The place feels much bigger than the size and it had everything I needed. I will definitely come back.

Weekend Trip to Little House On The Mountain
Our weekend getaway at Susan's little cabin was absolutely perfect. We are already planning another trip to stay there again. It was nice to have a comfortable place to relax after trekking around the Hood area. The amenities were all we could have asked for, with a little stove top for cooking, a nice hot shower and clean towels to warm us up after a cold day of hiking on the mountain, and a cute little wood burning stove to add to the ambiance. The place was stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans and dishes and silverware so we didn't have to worry about anything but the food.
The bed was quite comfortable and we both slept well both nights we were there.
