We are happy to share our five acres of beautiful PNW forest with intrepid campers Learn more about this land: Have you ever wanted to have an entire campground to yourself? Planning a romantic getaway, private group trip, or getting your feet wet with your first trip of the year (or ever!?) We have got the perfect place for you! Camp on the edge of Forest Park and sleep underneath an evergreen canopy of Douglas fir and big leaf maple. We have one large forest glade with room for several tents. We book only one group at a time, so you are guaranteed the place to yourselves. We can accommodate up to 15 people, with a max of 5-6 vehicles (parking is tight). This is a hike-in only campground most suited to backpack style camping. The hike in has two short steep sections about 50 feet each. It takes 5-15 minutes depending on fitness level and load. This is not suitable for those with accessibility issues. The campground features: -Fairy lights strung among the tress to create the perfect magical ambiance -Large fire ring with seating for 7-10 and cooking grate -picnic table with seating for six - Composting latrine with a forest view (commune with nature!) -Photo worthy hammock, swinging loveseat , and sunset views - A huge clearing with multiple flat tent spots (5-7) -1/2 mile of trails with hidden surprises - A parking area suitable for car camping or van camping during the rainy season. -Only 20 minutes from downtown Portland, 15 from I5, and minutes from gas and Parking is separate from the campground! It is a brief but steep 1/4 mile hike to get to the main campground and latrine. Bring hiking shoes and pack light. It takes most people 5-15 minutes to hike up, depending on fitness level and load size . If you want to car camp, you will be next to a road and separate from the latrine and fire pit. Enjoy several short trails on the camp's property before heading to Forest Park's Wildwood Trail, which is just up the street, or check out all of the incredible natural and urban nearby attractions in Portland. We are about 20 minutes away Portland's International Rose Test Garden , The Oregon Zoo, and Pittock Mansion Or just swing lazily in a hammock under the trees and enjoy the sound of the forest coming to life. Secluded private site centrally located just a mile from Interstate 5 off of exit #11, and 6 miles from the Interstate 5 / Hwy 205 intersection so most places in Clark County are less that 20 minutes away. Please Input 23102 NE 3rd Avenue into your GPS. Clicking the link on the Hipcamp map will bring you here with an Androuid device, but send you to a gated community West of us on an Apple device. Located 5 minutes from the Amphitheater,10 minutes from Ilani Casino, and less than 30 minutes from some of the nicest freshwater lakes around. This is a secluded, Park Like property with walking trails all the way around it, and some interesting things for kids to spot, especially up Fairy Lane. Walking access is permitted, but you must keep pets on leash and keep an eye on your kids. In the dry season, typically May through the end of September, fires are not allowed, and please USE EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU CHOOSE TO SMOKE ONSITE. If you are one of those who just tosses your butts in the underbrush, you will be asked to leave for the safety of our property and guests. There is no smoking allowed inside the cabin, bathroom, or anywhere near the sawmill, or any area North of it. There is a public bathroom in the middle of the property beside the tree fort. It's well lit and open 24 hours a day. It has a flush toilet and a hot water sink and a HOT shower. * PLEASE NOTE To keep from freezing, the instant hot water heater is disconnected, and hot water, and hot showers ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM NOV 15TH TO MAR 1ST. Cold water to flush the toilets and wash your hands is available all year. River access is just a short distance away, providing opportunities for fishing, sunbathing, or floating along the Cowlitz River. Just follow the pink flagging from our "Black Tail River Trail" sign at the south end of the grounds along the mowed path into the woods to the river. Approx 750' from the sign. Conveniently located near the towns of Kelso and Longview, and only 2.7 miles from Castle Rock. Two full hookups are available, two water/power sites, along with ample dry camping areas. We have a porta potty as well. Horses are welcome on the property, as are leashed/penned and friendly pets. Dogs can be off leash at the river, but be courteous and aware of other dogs. Please clean up after your animals! Cell phone coverage is good here, we do not have wifi available. We offer firewood for sale and allow propane fire pits. We also have a community fire pit for our campers, called the Lave Pit, directly across from our dry camp area. We follow the Cowlitz County burn ban, July 15-Sept 30. No fireworks allowed.

Please Note: Property ownership has transferred, but the same friendly host is managing your campsite. Please read the description in its entirety. There is only one campsite on this property, insuring privacy and solitude during your stay. The setting is most private, the river lovely. This setting is wonderful for a quiet family getaway in the woods; it is not 'party' appropriate. The Coweeman River runs clean and pristine. Though only 3' to 4' deep, it provides a refreshing dip on a warm summer's day. It can be used for washing and bathing and could be filtered/treated to make it potable. A locked cabin has a large covered porch overlooking the River that is available for campers, complete with chairs and picnic table. Well mannered, non-digging dogs are welcome (maximum 2) as long as their responsible owners clean up after them. The camp has a pit toilet and we are asking guests to extend its life by only putting poop and pee in it. Please burn your TP or take it out with your trash. There is a fire ring and a tub of firewood available (and refillable) on site for $10. Payment for the woodcutter is through Venmo when you return to the electronic world. If you bring your own wood keep maximum length to 20" to keep fire/ash within ring. There is a covered picnic table (10' X 10' pop up) and chairs at the fire ring. Trash can provided. Please remove your trash. Don't forget to bring drinking water, toilet paper (none is provided), fire starter (though our firewood is seasoned, dry and easy to ignite), headlamp, roasting sticks for them s'mores, water shoes and tromping shoes. The closest store for supplies is 11 miles (20ish minutes) down Rose Valley Road, a small country market with basics, and fuel. There driveway is steep but fine for 2 wheel drive vehicles. When driving out, make sure gate is open so stopping, on the steepest part, isn't required to open it. The rules are listed below under During Your Trip by clicking on 'Host Rules'. By reserving this site the Booker, and all guests, agrees to abide by these rules. Cell coverage is nonexistent/weak, depending on carrier. We privilege pollinators above human aesthetics. Wildflowers abound, including various dandelions of which many are edible and healing plants. Our beachin camp is located on the Longbeach, Washington Peninsula. It's a dry camp, for now. It's less than a half mile to the ocean. We have four sites available. Each site has a cute cinder block firepit. Its perfect for RV's or tent sites. As you turn onto the property you will be met with a gate. To identify the correct property you will see two small brick pillars at the entrance. Please be sure the keep the gate closed when not in use. Upon entering the gate, our campsites are located along the LEFT-hand side and are distinguishable by the 4 built-in block firepits. (Please note: the campsites along the right-hand side that are nearest to the cell tower are not operated by us.) Pack out what you pack in. All trash must be removed at check out. Jack's Country Store offers garbage drop off for a small fee. There is a small park with a restroom located a couple blocks away that is usually open for public use. Our farm sits about 5 miles off Highway 30 to the north. We can direct you to hiking and mountain biking trails in the area (Beaver Falls trailhead is 5 miles from our farm). Walking access is permitted, but you must keep pets on leash and keep an eye on your kids. In the dry season, typically May through the end of September, fires are not allowed, and please USE EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU CHOOSE TO SMOKE ONSITE. There is only one campsite on this property, insuring privacy and solitude during your stay. The setting is most private, the river lovely. This setting is wonderful for a quiet family getaway in the woods; it is not 'party' appropriate. The Coweeman River runs clean and pristine. Though only 3' to 4' deep, it provides a refreshing dip on a warm summer's day. It can be used for washing and bathing and could be filtered/treated to make it potable. A locked cabin has a large covered porch overlooking the River that is available for campers, complete with chairs and picnic table. Well mannered, non-digging dogs are welcome (maximum 2) as long as their responsible owners clean up after them. The camp has a pit toilet and we are asking guests to extend its life by only putting poop and pee in it. Please burn your TP or take it out with your trash. There is a fire ring and a tub of firewood available (and refillable) on site for $10. Payment for the woodcutter is through Venmo when you return to the electronic world. If you bring your own wood keep maximum length to 20" to keep fire/ash within ring. There is a covered picnic table (10' X 10' pop up) and chairs at the fire ring. Trash can provided. Please remove your trash. Don't forget to bring drinking water, toilet paper (none is provided), fire starter (though our firewood is seasoned, dry and easy to ignite), headlamp, roasting sticks for them s'mores, water shoes and tromping shoes. The closest store for supplies is 11 miles (20ish minutes) down Rose Valley Road, a small country market with basics, and fuel. There driveway is steep but fine for 2 wheel drive vehicles. Our beachin camp is located on the Longbeach, Washington Peninsula. It's a dry camp, for now. It's less than a half mile to the ocean. We have four sites available. Each site has a cute cinder block firepit. Its perfect for RV's or tent sites. As you turn onto the property you will be met with a gate. To identify the correct property you will see two small brick pillars at the entrance. Please be sure the keep the gate closed when not in use. Upon entering the gate, our campsites are located along the LEFT-hand side and are distinguishable by the 4 built-in block firepits. The little A-frame structure was perfect for my needs and stood up well to some pretty blustery weather on my first day. It takes a minute to locate the structure if you arrive in the dark and rain, as I did, but once I was oriented, all was well. Definitely recommend this instead of a tent if you're coming at a time of year when the weather is a bit unpredictable.

Cannot recommend enough, a really magical place. The yurt was kept warm with the wood burning stove and the sauna was an absolute treat. We loved talking to all the folks at the farm, can't wait to go back!

We loved tent camping at Marks farm. The bathrooms were a wonderful addition to our stay. We enjoyed our time petting the cows and goats. The kids had fun playing and the spooky forest that was set up for Halloween. Mark was very friendly and helpful with all our questions. We would love to stay again.

What an amazing farm to visit. It was all decorated for Halloween which was super fun. The stuff in the farm store tastes incredible. Sprinkle some of the lovage infused salt on your tomatoes - yum yum. Spots were very spacious. Hosts were super nice. You can feed the apples to the animals. Great stay.

Our family had such a great time on the river. Even though we got some rain everyday we put our paddle boards in the water from the dock and played. The river is super peaceful and you get to see and hear lots of birds. We lucked out and had the whole place to ourselves even. Really nice to have the provided Adirondack chairs for around the campfire and watching the river too. Hosts were always very quick to respond and helpful. Road and property clean, well maintained and so was the port-o-potty on site. We even visited their horses to say hello for change of scene one afternoon. Mostly though we relaxed in the camp area and enjoyed the river. Will return for sure.

Great camp site. Had dear come through camp a few times and the site is nice and flat. The goat beards are all over though so be prepared for those little pokies. It’s nice being tucked back from the road. We hade two spots in our group for a family clam dig camp trip and it was great.
