Weekend Trip to Valhalla Tree Farm

Valhalla Cabin was quaint and perfectly nestled beneath majestic trees—photos truly don’t do it justice! The experience was nothing short of amazing. If we lived closer, we’d be visiting every month! The trails are beautifully maintained, and the views are absolutely breathtaking. We’re so grateful we got to witness and enjoy this stunning piece of land. Highly recommend to anyone seeking peace, beauty, and a connection with nature.

Kambria was a lovely hostess, she made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The horses next door were a joy to look at. The spot is quiet and peaceful, no traffic, lots of stars at night. Cherry Falls trail is near by, we had a great time hiking it and seeing the waterfall. Having the fenced pasture next to our camper was great for the dogs. Plenty of power, water and private space for a low price. We will definitely be back!

Such a treat to stay at this location! Where to stay, amenities, and each part of this location worked well. Amenities listed are accurate. I was able to let my dog relax off-leash while relaxing by the fire pit. This was the perfect place to set myself up for a multi-day training in Duvall. Thank you Kambria!

Beautiful property and easy access to site. Roads are gravel and very well maintained. Water is fantastic and convenient location at all the sites. So quiet with lots of beautiful bird songs. Saw baby ducks, great cranes and several other birds at the pond, so peaceful. Looking forward to our next visit.

3 nights at It's a King thing

What a peaceful and secluded spot! Right off the county highway, down in a peaceful river valley. It was so great to have an indoor space to hang out while it rained one of the days. 🙏🏻 The common area next to the Big Quilcene River was my favorite place. Private little rock beach, saw ducks and an eagle. Really close to some really great hikes in the Olympics. Shawn was so accommodating and even brought wood to my campsite. Thank you for a wonderful weekend getaway!

Dave saved our first trip of the season! We forgot a few essentials and he was there to help us through. There was also a pop-up sauna that was amazing. Weekend Trip to Valhalla Tree Farm

We recently became empty nesters and now own a camper van with two large dogs. This was our maiden voyage out and had a wonderful stay at Popcorn Pond. It was nice to show up to a well manicured campsite, two chairs, a table, and a fire pit. Our camper van is 21 feet and fit perfectly into the campsite. The trail map provided was accurate and they are easy trails for beginners. The hike to the chapel is up a gravel road and could be challenging for some people but worth it. It’s adorable! Dave was easy to communicate with and helpful with questions we had. If you’re looking for a nice little experience in the woods I highly recommend checking out the Valhalla Tree Farm.

Weekend Trip to Private Beach, 15 Acres, Vashon

This spot is a gem! It all starts with the drive down the magical path of lined trees that opens up to the bluff. Then you’re greeted with the most amazing view of Mt. Rainier. Any spot you choose to set-up is the BEST spot. I spent the weekend taking in the views, watched the seals play down below and spotted eagles soaring above. Lisa also stopped by to say hello which made it feel very personal and gave me a sense of comfort/safety especially as a solo camper. Will definitely be back!

1 night at Valhalla Tree Farm

A relaxing retreat in the forest, I took my pup here for our first overnight trip together. She loved exploring all the different ecosystems here: pond, stream, outcropping and lots of woods. The cabin is rustic but solid, I loved relaxing on the deck listening to the sound of the stream. Will definitely be returning soon.

Shawn was fantastic! They were so friendly and made us feel like we were at home. Between the adorable kitty and sweet dog to the beautiful camp site we had an incredible night there.

This campsite is one of the hidden gems of Washington. The campsite is large and beautiful with everything you could need while camping already set up for you. The outhouse is new and clean, the firepit well kept, and a permanent table with a well crafted shelter. Outside of the campsite itself the land has many beautiful trails and little hideaway spots to relax at and read or do some birding. This is our second time here and we defined plan to come back soon.

My kid loved this campsite. It is gated and felt safe with wonder around with my kid even it feels like in a mountain. We brought wakietakie for my kid (there is cellphine signal) and made the lil cliff behind the camp site as his castle for the weekend. You can see the poind from there and it wad pretty. The water inside the campsite made thinga a lot easy. We heard owls and some critters. Outhosue was basic but didn't have smell.

I've now stayed at all the sites at Valhalla, and they're all great. Popcorn Pond is meant for campers and RVs, so it doesn't have some of the amenities of the other sites, like a covered shelter or a toilet. But, it's still peaceful and quiet, with a fresh water spigot, table, and a great fire ring. I made a fire and listened to the chorus of frogs in the nearby pond, and took a stroll around the trails on the property. Had a great time!

We absolutely loved this camp! The view is incredible off the bluff, and we thoroughly enjoyed walking down to the beach with our dog. Also loved walking through the woods and down the driveway. Would absolutely recommend and stay here again!

1 night at Valhalla Tree Farm

What an exceptionally beautiful place- the peace and quiet afforded by this sweet refuge was just what I needed to completely relax and shed my stress. I stayed in the small cabin, which was simple but comfortable, with a sink and outhouse, and a wonderful gas stove that kept the cabin so toasty warm...There are no outlets available so keep that in mind and be prepared if you need cell phone access, I found being off grid exceptionally freeing. The host included a summary of the short trails available on the massive property and was responsive to questions and issues...This was definitely a great find and highly recommend- don't forget to bring blankets and a towel for the outdoor shower!

We really enjoyed camping at The Landing, campsite #5 (Osprey). We were the only campers on the grounds, which was really lucky—but the campsites are very private regardless. Every campsite has an amazing view and easy access to the river. (Campsite #5 seemed to have the most direct path to the river). The campsite is well equipped with a fire pit and LARGE picnic table. The outhouse was a godsend. This was my first camping experience as an adult, and it was AMAZING. 10/10, would camp again!

The Feathered Refuge: Off-grid

The "Feathered Refuge" is an RV site located in the middle of 3 acres of solitude. This site is a rare find: your own private campground! If you are longing for complete quiet and privacy accompanied by the hoots of barred owls and the tweets of finches and camp robbers, you have found respite! You may even glimpse an occasional bald eagle. The camp-site is graveled and 24 feet long and approximately 10 feet wide. The way up is a bit of an adventure. Located on a low- elevation mountain ( 1700 feet elevation for the site), it is three miles of a windy dirt- and- traveled road. You will need 4WD or AWD with a lot of clearance. The site is located behind two locked gates, so the owner will greet you at the gate to the mountain. If you do not have the appropriate vehicle and wish to tent- camp, there is a site available for that as well, and arrangements can be made for parking at another property the owner has at the base of the mountain, for an additional fee of $30. (please bring cash or we can use paypal, as Hipcamp does not allow add-ons.) A porta-potty is provided, and you have access to the owner's patio for cooking or relaxing (between 3-7 PM). The site comes with a guest pass to the coveted Lake Cushman area, 2 lakes and several boat launches. The pass also provides access to the nice and clean showers at one of the two parks. Hoodsport is in an ideal location: 45 minutes north of Olympia, or two hours from Seattle, it's an easy and beautiful drive. It is also the Gateway to the Staircase area of the Olympic National Park, one of the top eight things to do in the " Pearl of the Northwest." Places to eat: Honeybee Pizzeria and Grinder, Hoodsport coffee company (best ice- cream outside of Seattle, with " Olympic Mountain ice- cream"), and the best Mexican food for miles is 25 minutes away in Union, WA, at "2 Margaritas." They have great karaoke! There is also a fabulous music scene in Union. During the day you can walk the three-mile loop around from our driveway, OR you can go through our two locked gates (with the owner and their key) to go climb Staircase (25 ms away) or head to Hood canal for some fishing or to Hoodsport for the incredible Olympic Mountain ice-cream Amenities: a. Patio: You can use the owner's patio during the day (9 AM -12:00 PM and 3:00-7:00 PM) to relax in style or to grill your meal ($15 add-on for cleaning the grill and providing the propane). b. There is a porta potty available c. You have access to the Lake Cushman lakes and full restroom with showers (Lake Cushman or Lake Kokanee), when attended by the owner through the gateson Dow Mountain. c. You will be given a guest pass by the owner for the duration of your stay, when provided a $75 refundable cash deposit for the pass (paypal is also accepted). d. Small boat parking: there is secondary parking available at a lot on pavement which you can leave over-night for an additional fee of $30/ night. Please note: You will need a 4wd for your truck as the road from the pavement is a gravel road 3 miles long.

My boyfriend, Dave, and I reside in the farmhouse. My mother, Lauren, also makes her home here. We have discovered several exceptional camping spots on our 15-acre property. Deer and occasional coyotes roam the property, but rest assured, they are apprehensive of us and pose no threat. We derive great pleasure from spending time outdoors, so you may frequently observe us engaged in fieldwork, construction, or simply relaxing in our stargazing hammock circle. We are always available to provide you with space or invite you to join us. We derive immense satisfaction from meeting new individuals and have numerous recommendations for Whidbey Island, including the delectable blueberry stand in Freeland and the Mutiny Bay Blues, a venue that we can either recommend or provide directions to. Just relax and enjoy the camping experience. CAMPSITES Here on our property, you can choose from simple walk in campsites with no special amenities, to a full campsite with picnic table, fire ring, and space for tent or trailer, up to a full size camper trailer parking area. We also have the lovely Cowboy wall tent with electricity and extra plugs for charging devices, a small electric heater, larger dorm style refrigerator, Queen size bed and all the bedding, additional oversized twin bed with bedding, 2 lamps, love seat reclining sofa and side table, Bistro style table and two chairs, 2 burner hotplate with coffee and tea, plates, cups and silverware, We provide 5 gallon containers of natural snowfall derived city water at your site. The wall tent has a separate porta potty with handwashing station. A larger portapotty is located in the center of the field for easy access from all other campsites. Coming soon we are hoping to get our propane shower and shower room up and running. ACTIVITIES Other activities include local trails for hiking and biking, close proximity to Port Townsend, town beach and waterfront and a short drive to the Olympic National forest. FOOD This year, due to positive feedback, we are increasing our offering of a full course Chuckwagon dinner, two person minimum, paid for when you book your campsite. You can select from smoked pulled pork, BBQ chicken, Smoked ribs or the vegetarian selection, baked spaghetti squash stuffed with a blend of marinara, roasted zucchini, yellow squash and bell peppers, topped with parmesan cheese. Sides served with the dinner include roasted corn on the cob ( in season), potato salad, homemade Horseshoe beans, corn bread and either blackberry cobbler or pineapple upside down cake. You provide the beverage. Guests meander over to the cook tent at about 6 pm and enjoy dinner seated around tables and chairs complete with plates, cups and silverware. Dinner is served by reservation only on Saturday nights. Dinner is $30.00 per person. 24 hour advance notice required so your food is always fresh. Breakfast ( described in intro above, is $15 per person) THE PROPERTY Just what is Cowboy Camp, you might ask. The traditional definition refers to sleeping outside under the stars with only a bedroll, a fire and the night sky for companions. But if you are a fan of the western genre and lifestyle, you might also know it as a place to go to hang out with like minded folks and experience the Cowboy lifestyle. This includes all people, men and women alike, as the term "Cowboy" is largely generic and not gender oriented. A taste of that lifestyle is what we are offering here at our Cowboy Camp. HORSES It wouldn't be Cowboy Camp without horses and they are definitely present. They can be heard whinnying at mealtimes and throughout the day as they keep in touch with each other. They are generally quiet at night. Horses are not allowed in camping areas when campers are present. No farm would be complete without chickens and ours is no exception. A few hens can generally be seen wandering around the barn searching for bugs, We do not have a rooster, so guests can sleep peacefully. We are offering camping sites ranging from simple tent sites with fire ring, picnic table and soft sandy tent sites to small cabin type tents with beds and electricity. As part of your cowboy camp experience you can sign up for a horsemanship lesson involving handling and grooming horses and time spent working with the horse in the round pen. (There is no actual riding such as a trail ride offered at this time, we are working on that). You can also sign up for a roping lesson. Learn to throw a loop and catch "Little blue", our roping dummy steer head. HIKES AND BIKES We also have games of horseshoes ( with real horseshoes) and corn hole boards. You can take a hike around the property on our trail through mature Douglas fir and majestic Western cedar forest. A 1/4 mile walk down our quiet country gravel road will take you to the 80 acre Jefferson County Land trust forest with several beautiful trails meandering through mature uncut forest. These trails are suitable for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. That forest further connects to the Cappy's trail system, a network of several miles of trails that will wind around and eventually lead into Port Townsend itself if you choose to venture into town. Or you can choose to travel via mountain bike or foot approximately one mile down the road to the DNR forest property that will lead you through more gorgeous wooded and open areas to access the Larry Scott trail, a 7.3 mile out and back firm surface multi-use trail that leads either out of town through the woods or to the north directly into Port Townsend along the scenic waterfront. Our beautiful piece of property is comprised of almost 11 acres situated on the northeast tip of the Olympic Peninsula just outside the quaint Victorian seaport town of Port Townsend. It lies approximately 4 miles from downtown with its many art galleries, restaurants, shops, boat harbor, farmer's market and the historic Rose theater. The farm itself is located within a section of old growth forest comprised of 100 year old Doug Firs, cedar trees and alder groves. There is an open pasture area in the center of the property, which is ringed completely by thick stands of forest, so it feels completely private. You have to look closely to see the neighboring two houses through the forest. The horses are excluded from camping areas during your visit, and will most likely be housed on neighboring property while guests are present. No need to worry about curious horses coming into your campsite to say hello. It is a wildlife paradise with frequent visits from local deer, bald eagles, ducks on the pond, owls nesting in the trees, and coyotes travelling through. The frog pond is alive all night with singing. If you are a light sleeper you might consider earplugs. We have created a walking trail through the forest around the land that is full of the sounds of life and birds. A pileated woodpecker makes its home in the back corner and two pairs of barred owls also inhabit the nearby Douglas firs. They can be heard at night calling out as they settle in for the evening. An important note for the walking explorer, please be aware that many areas of the farm are in their natural state. This means you might encounter prickly plants such as star thistle, nettles and tansy ragwort. We are happy to identify these for you if you are unfamiliar with them. Please be aware and dress in long pants and long sleeves while hiking. There are no poisonous snakes present in this region. We train horses here so there is a full size riding arena and training round pen. On any given day, you might see horses being trained and ridden. MORE ABOUT THE FOOD At the end of your day of adventures, you can opt to sign up ( when your site is booked) for a delicious feast at Cowboy Camp. Using old time traditional Dutch oven cooking techniques and slow smoking methods, meals are comprised of such items as slow cooked smoked pork shoulder or ribs, Dutch oven baked "Horseshoe Beans" ( a crowd favorite), fire roasted corn on the cob (in season) , homemade potato salad, green spinach salad, and of course dessert such as homemade blackberry cobbler or pineapple upside down cake. Vegetarian selections are also available upon request. As a young man he competed in the rodeo sports of bareback broncs, calf roping, bull riding and team roping. He then worked as a professional farrier, horse trainer and ranch employee in Texas. He learned the art of Texas BBQ cooking while living and working on Texas ranches. He loves to cook for others and enjoys sharing tales of the ranch life. The island boasts great coffee hangouts, galleries, wineries, restaurants (Earthen, The Ruby Brink, The Hardware Store Restaurant), Snapdragon and others. Minglement, the Burton Coffee Stand, and Cafe Olio Vino have great coffee. Thriftway is a great grocery store. The Burton Store is worth a visit if you are coming from the Tacoma/Pt. Defiance ferry as you will pass it on your way to the property. There a galleries, shops and restaurants in the town of Vashon and also in Burton. Vashon Center for the Arts, O-Space and the Chamber of Commerce have events that might be of interest. Bikes, E-bikes, paddle boards and kayaks can be rented from Vashon Adventures and Vashon Bikes.They also rent tents and some camping equipment. Outdoor fires are by permission only. There are sometime burn bans for air quality and/or high fire danger. Generally, fires are allowed AT THE BEACH, below the high tide line, between October 1 and June 15, but there are various reasons they may not be allowed (air quality bans, windy conditions, etc.) Any fire you light must be put out COLD (no steam, no heat) with water and buried with sand before leaving them unattended. You are responsible for any damage or injuries caused by a fire you start, so please be careful! Please note: It is very important that the number of people on site is accurate. Please contact Hipcamp to change the number of people - there currently is no way to do that on the site?! There is an additional charge per person above the base 2 person rate. The Big Quilcene river is a water wonderland with private riverside access available to all campers just a short easy walk from each campsite. Here is where you can enjoy the cooling relief from the Summer heat, bask in the sun on cool Spring days, listen to the soothing sounds of the water and wildlife, interact with fellow campers, as well as fishing for Coho salmon in the Fall for a full meal deal experience. (Fishing license required). The river access “Common Area” is for all campers to enjoy with plenty of space to also have some alone time. If you are a more adventurous camper, Tranquil Acres is perfectly located to be your “home base” for extended stays, allowing you to explore the many wonders that the Olympic Peninsula has to offer as easy day trips. We are happy to answer any questions and share some of our favorite hikes, lakes, restaurants, and historical areas we have loved over these many years. My family has lived in this area since the early 80's and after almost a decade of renting this property and becoming a part of the amazing community of Quilcene, I had the opportunity to buy this land and “pay it forward” by creating Tranquil Acres for all to enjoy. My children that grew up here, continue to help and support this endeavor as adults. “It’s a King Thing”. Camping Etiquette: **Please read before booking** First and foremost, the road leading down to the camping area is a steep gravel drive. Going down isn’t usually a problem…it’s getting back up again. When you get to the bottom, the rest of the roadway leading to all campsites is a natural dirt road with tree root humps that isn’t designed for low clearance cars. AWD or 4WD is recommended, but please check with us before booking to see if your vehicle can have access all the way to your campsite and make it back up the hill. If not, we do have parking available at the top of the hill safely located next to our house, and transport options available to help you pack it in and pack it out without risking damage to your vehicle or the land and still enjoy a wonderful camping experience. Please inquire before booking if you have a low clearance vehicle so we can discuss your options. Please be respectful of the land. We are a “pack it in, pack it out” campground and wish to provide this space for folks to enjoy for many years to come. The Quilcene transfer station is located nearby and is open on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday. (hours may differ on holidays). We do offer waste disposal as an add-on at checkout. Recycling must be separated from solid waste and contained in the bags provided and will have clear instructions of what is recyclable. Potable water is not available in the camping area. It is okay to use water from the river if you have a certified filter system (at your own risk). If you are the bold and brave that likes to bathe in cold waters, please be mindful of the eco-system and the damage that soap can do to our natural habitat. Dishwashing is not allowed in the river at any time. Like most campgrounds, our quiet time is 10pm-8am. Please be respectful to your camp neighbors at all times. Sounds carry easily in the woods. Play, explore, have fun, and stay awake to enjoy your space for as long as you want, just be mindful to use “camping voice” after 10pm. Communication is encouraged and appreciated! If you need anything, are having any issues with fellow campers, or just have a question… please don’t hesitate to get in touch… day or night. We love being able to share this wonderful land for folks to have a joyful camping experience in our neck of the woods with their fellow campers. Dogs are allowed at all campsites. Cats too if you have a camping cat! Please be mindful of your neighbors and that not everyone feels comfortable around dogs or may be allergic. Off leash is allowed if your dog is not aggressive with humans or other dogs. You know your dog best, and we will trust that you will use your best judgement in any circumstance while you are staying with us. If there is an issue in this regard, we will ask you to keep your dog leashed at all times, or under extreme circumstances may be forced to ask you to leave. We would rather not do either of those things, so please be aware of where your pet is at all times. Everyone loves a campfire! No one loves a wildfire. The lushness of the Olympic National Forest can be deceiving. Wildfires do still happen here and we expect you to extinguish your fire if no one is at the campsite, before going to sleep, and prior to departure. Firewood is provided as an add-on at checkout and will be at your site when you arrive, or you are also welcomed to bring your own. You will need to provide your own paper and flame to get your campfire going. There are many small sticks and twigs around every site to use as kindling, but please don’t use any wood you find on the land that won’t entirely fit inside of the rock ring. This is dangerous because wood holds heat and can continue to burn and ignite leaves, sticks and twigs outside of the firepit. If it is windy at any point during your stay, we respectfully request that you don’t have a fire while the winds are blowing. You can see if there is a recreational fire burn ban prior to arrival by visiting www.orcaa.org or send us a message. It is rare that recreational fires are banned in this area, but it does happen on occasion. Burning any kind of garbage in your campfire is not allowed at any time. Doing so means it is no longer a recreational fire and could permanently stop us from allowing campers to stay here. We offer a variety of add-on features that can turn your camping adventure into a glamping experience. Need a tent? No problem, we will even set it up for you and take it down. Don’t have a stove to cook with? We have that too. When we say: “It’s a King Thing”… it means we intend to provide you with an experience that leaves you feeling like Royalty. Pets Allowed: Off Leash You know your dog best. Please be mindful and aware if they are aggressive towards other dogs or humans. Lots of sticks and twigs on the ground available for kindling. Bring your own paper and flame to start your fire. Please don’t use wood from the land that doesn’t fully fit inside of the firepit. No Showers: Bathing in the river is allowed if you are brave enough to handle the cold water. Please be mindful of the natural eco-system and use only biodegradable soap minimally. The Big Quilcene river plays an important role in this region supporting wildlife, aquatic life, plant life and human life. No Wifi: But all major phone providers do get service in our campground area. Pack it out: Garbage/recycling is available as an add-on feature, otherwise, please pack it in/pack it out and leave it better than you found it. Laundry Absent: There is a laundromat in Quilcene just a short drive from our campsite. Extra cars can park safely next to our house at the top of the hill. ACTIVITIES ON THE LAND OR NEARBY BIKING: multiple mountain biking trails for any level of rider. Check www.singletracks.com for information about trails located in Quilcene and nearby areas just a short drive away. FISHING: The salmon start running on the Big Quilcene in September. Fishing license required. There are other options for fishing around the area depending on what you want to fish for, go ahead and message me if you want some insider information. HIKING: There are many hikes close by with a variety of difficulty levels. I have hiked pretty much all of them and would love to share some of my favorites with you. PADDLING: Quilcene Bay, Lake Leland as well as other options just a short drive away. WILDLIFE WATCHING: We have deer that wander through the campground from time to time and in the mid-late summer it is a real treat to see their fawns. There is a fun assortment of birds, owls and even herons and hawks that can be spotted while hanging out at the river in our common area. If you are lucky, you can even spot a bald eagle passing by. Grey whales and Orca whales migrate north in the late Spring and Summer and there are whale watching tours available in Sequim and Port Angeles. There is also the Olympic Game Farm Park in Sequim that is a drive through wildlife preserve that is a lot of fun for the whole family just 45mins away. (Absolutely no hunting is allowed on Tranquil Acres and we respectfully request that you keep your distance from wildlife for the safety of all involved.) NATURAL FEATURES ON OR NEAR THE LAND: BEACH: There are several Bays and Lakes in the area that I would love to tell you about that are easy to access…please don’t hesitate to ask. FOREST: We are located on the eastern side of the Olympic National Forest, and there is a Ranger Station just a couple minutes away. The rainforest eco system of this area is truly an adventure worth exploring, and our Tranquil Acres has all the native trees and plants of this unique region that makes it feel like you are living in the heart of a rainforest…but with less rain, and slightly warmer temperatures than the central and western side of the Olympic rainforest in the summer. LAKES: Lake Leland Lake and Crocker Lake are the nearest most accessible lakes in the area. There are many others, please feel free to ask about any lakes you find in the area and I can let you know if it is suitable for what you are wanting from a lake experience. RIVER, STREAM OR CREEK: Tranquil Acres is located on the Big Quilcene River. It’s beautiful and most of the time secluded (except during salmon season in September when there are fisherfolks that have public access to the river itself). There are many other rivers in the general area, but none quite as awesome as our little stretch of the Big Quilcene. SWIMMING HOLE: Yes, various options at different times of the year…and It’s COLD! Bring a float device for a gentler experience in the hot summer sun or have a bold and brave Polar Plunge regardless of what month it is. (AT YOUR OWN RISK, please be mindful of how strong the river current is at different times of the year and do not let young children into the main current without a life jacket or without adult supervision. Highly recommended to wear water shoes at all times/all ages.) The Big Quilcene is a River that anyone could slip and fall on the rocks regardless of age and how low the water is. WATERFALL: The Falls View loop trail just a few miles south of Quilcene is an easy 1 mile hike that has a spectacular view of the large waterfall that flows into the Big Quilcene River. I am happy to talk with you and answer any questions you may have about local adventures in the area. MOUNTAINOUS: Mt. Olympus reigns supreme over them all, but the Olympic Mountain Range has 9 other distinct Mountain peaks, and there are a variety of ways to experience this unique mountain range…just ask me how, I am happy to share the variety of ways to enjoy the Olympic Peninsula. FARMS: We have multiple organic farms in the area where you can purchase seasonal fruits and vegetables. There are also many community activities at various times of the year to get to know this little Pearl of the Peninsula.

Malaney Creek Farm

Madrona Meadow Camp

This secluded meadow has sweeping views, including a stunning shot of Mount Rainier on clear days. Surrounded by forested land including a park preserve, the land is quiet and private. A great place to watch birds, access multiple park trails by foot, or just enjoy being outside in nature. There are old fruit trees on the land that give plentiful fruit (most years) starting in August, and depending on the time of year you'll also find blackberries, huckleberries and salal berries. Additional tent sites are tucked into the trees. Serving all is an outdoor/covered compost toilet tucked into the trees a couple minutes walk from the meadow. There is also a spigot with hose where you can rinse off gear etc. A public swimming hole on Lake Florence is a short drive way, along with beaches. Check back with us in the future as well, because we have big plans for additional amenities.
