Right off the 101 fronting Hood Canal, this cozy motel and RV park is 1 mile from Hoodsport and just down the road from Lake Cushman. It sits 30 minutes from the entrance to Olympic National Park with easy access to Staircase Trailhead and Campground. A quick hour and forty minutes from Seattle and you can watch orcas breach, salmon swim, and bald eagles fly! Our crew is kind, facilities clean, and amenities are quality. Brand new benches at each site that also fold to become a table! One acre wooded lot a quarter mile from the Willapa bay and 1.25 miles to drive on beach access. “Bleat Retreat”- (Site 1) has full hook ups and a hammock stand. “Goachella”- (Site 2) is a back down area with a woody view. There is a communal firepit as well as a solo stove for use by either site. There is a flat grassy space for outdoor games and near all the major attractions without being in a busy area. The property also has WiFi mesh with fiber speeds. Come stay with the family! These sites are for fully contained units and do not have access to a shower or toilet. Owners may be onsite at times, and keep a camper at site of their own. Site #1 “The Bleat Retreat” will accommodate a large trailer up to 40’ and 50amps. Wonderful place with great sites that have all services available. Great family game area, pool table in the beautiful lobby and a hot tub that has great views of the Hood Canal. Our dog and I found a well established low impact trail that went quite a distance out into the woods with benches and a picnic table.

At the north end of Longbeach in the historic district of Oysterville. Minutes from the Bay and Beaches, Parks, Restaurant's. Our hosts were wonderful. Looking forward to our next visit.

Your home away from home. This camp site is large, secluded, very quiet, private and safe. The locals in the area are respectful and quiet. The full hookups worked exactly as they should. The roads in the area are very good for biking or walking. The beach is close and at low tide you can ride even a road bike on the beach. There were no annoying bugs and I only saw one mosquito in a month. There were deer, bunnies, squirrels and chipmunks that frequent the area. There is no cell signal at the camp site, but at the beach there is. If you bring a starlink it works. I highly recommend this site, from what I saw it is the largest and most private campsite on the entire peninsula.

I couldn’t have planned a better weekend trip. The amount of fun my kids and I had was amazing. Great place to stay, I absolutely recommend it. There were lots of activities for my kids that were put on by the lodge as well as a movie and s’mores on the lawn on Saturday night. Can’t wait to come and do it again. We stayed in the Coho Cabins - what a luxury! Clean, upgraded, with every amenity you could think of, including a Nespresso. The park itself felt safe, with a nice spa-like hot tub with water views, great staff, and even games in the community area. Walk across the street to a deck with stunning views (you might even catch a glimpse of a seal) and a fairly quiet beach area. I spent many relaxing mornings on that deck. Only complaint is that the photos of the views from within the cabin are inaccurate - the cabins are stacked right next to each other, so there is no mountain or water view as advertised (just trees or the other cabins). Otherwise, such a nice experience.

We really enjoyed this unique campground. It was exceptionally clean (I noticed they checked each site after a camper left and power washed the pad). The staff was very kind and helpful. The hiking trail behind the campground was really great and almost surreal! Our pup loved it! We will definitely be back soon!

We really enjoyed ourselves. The property is beautiful and, though not paved, the full hookup site we used was pretty close to level. We were very comfortable in our 32' motorhome. Linda and her family were very friendly and helpful. The play area was ideal for a range of ages. My 10 year old niece loved the trampoline and the zipline.

Where to go

Capitol State Forest

Located between Aberdeen and Olympia, this forest is known for its recreation opportunities, with 150 miles of nature trails and seasonal campgrounds, some of which have corrals for people who want to bring their horses along. Popular activities here include mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, and off-road vehicle driving.

Olympic National Park

Aberdeen is sometimes positioned as the gateway to the Olympic National Park, which encompasses much of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. Encompassing nearly a million acres of protected land, this park is best known for its ecological variety, from the mystical Hoh Rain Forest, which protects majestic old-growth trees, to Sol Duc Hot Springs, a popular spot to soak away your aches and pains.

Westport Light State Park

Encompassing 560 acres, and only a half-hour drive from Aberdeen, the day-use-only Westport Light State Park is a fan favorite among surfers, offering fantastic winter surf conditions. The park has two beaches, a paved boardwalk, and picnic tables galore, but many visitors come to check out the state's largest lighthouse—Grays Harbor Lighthouse—which is situated right inside the park.

When to go

Aberdeen is not exactly known for its weather, and it’s wise to expect cooler temperatures and lots of rainfall no matter when you visit. With that in mind, the best months to visit are in July and August, when temperatures typically reach the upper 60s and rainfall and cloudy days are limited to a couple of days a year. Winters are cold, but rarely freezing, and get tons of rainfall, typical to the Pacific Northwest.
