Thank you for an amazing 2025 season. We will see you back in the spring of 2026. Book your events and campouts now before the season fills up! We are located on a very private property (the only houses you will see are across the inlet) surrounded by nature but only about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and 5 minutes from I-5 and Lacey. The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups! Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi. About the campground: The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the porta potty, shower and sink. There is also a supply closet that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hot tub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins. There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There are also fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊 The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offer great privacy. You may see us throughout the day and evening coming and going from the campground, working on the property or playing with the kids on the trails!

The heated full bathroom is located in the separate newly built garage where you will also find a coffee bar with biscotti treats. The garage space is not shared with the primary Moby's Beachhouse rental. Please bring wood for your outdoor firepit fire, which can easily be purchased down the street at the local market. Please note you have access to the yard and area where the tent is located. A white fence separates your area from Moby's Beachhouse, next door. Our cozy tent sleeps 2, includes a comfy full size bed, interior wood burning fireplace, bistro table and a private, full heated bathroom located in the new garage next to the tent. An outdoor firepit, Propane BBQ and picnic table are also on the property for Yurt use. Sleeps 2, No pets in the tent. The two outbuildings on the property are unoccupied. This is a separate booking from Moby's Beachhouse. This is an open, grassy lot with a large tree and beach grass. There is a new garage adjacent which contains the full heated bathroom and a coffee station for your private, exclusive use. The garage is not rentable, nor used for cars. The property is off of a non busy road that is used by neighbors.

Gary and friends thought of everything. Fun for the whole family. From the glowing rock paintings, the chickens and fresh eggs, bunnies, beautiful garden, the color and whimsy - It was absolutely perfect. The girls were able to run around the magical forest, dressed like fairies, homemade crowns and all. TJ was a volunteer at the time and he truly made the entire stay such a fun experience. He was helpful, kind, fun and truly just an amazing person. We can’t wait to visit again.

We loved our one night stay at Jake and Molly’s! The tent was spacious inside and we were nice and warm during the night. We also loved stargazing by the fire pit; it was so clear! We could even hear coyotes howling and owls hooting in the distance. A special stay for sure!

Loved camping here so much that I reserved the Lotus tent to take a friend. Very spacious and comfortable with a cozy bed. I brought a couple Rumpl blankets as rain was forecast so it got colder out than is has been. Slept wonderfully. Nice composting toilet and kitchen area along with a propane fire pit and plenty of chairs. Everything we needed. Gary and staff were always happy to accommodate requests for anything we needed. Walked the loop trail up by the garden. Enjoyed finding mushrooms, gnomes and seashells in the woods. Just a great, relaxing weekend.

We stayed in the yurt on their property and it was beautiful. Before coming, I had thought that the yurt was a little further away from the tent camp sites, but it was not. If you're looking for cozy privacy, this is probably not the spot. The hosts, however, really put a lot of thought into their campsites and amenities. The toilets were close enough that it was convenient, there was a sink for washing hands and a hot shower. There were trails along the sound and places for quiet sitting. We played some corn hole in the big open field, and really had a wonderfully relaxing time!

Frankly speaking. this was one of the best camping trips we ever had. Booked it at a very last minute and upon getting there, while rather basic, the whole experience just blew us away. Such a peaceful and tranquil place! The mornings were surreal, no car noises, no airplanes, just birds and nothing else! Furthermore, to my surprise our kids were spending hours around sheep and never mentioned they were bored (WIFI is only available in around the outdoor kitchen) and we didn’t have a reception, which was great, a true gadget detox 🙂. Once again this was a great experience and we can’t wait to get back there!

We loved our stay on Gary’s land. Our hosts made it very easy to just bring the food that we wanted to eat, blankets to keep warm at night, and towels should we want to use their beautiful shower. Everything else was provided. It’s a charming little spot, deep in the trees. Our dog loved being off leash and making new friends. Everyone there was so friendly. The landscape was whimsical and charming. This was exactly the little adventure we needed.

The property was delightful! It was creatively and artfully set up so you as a visitor, it felt as if one was in a fairy glen or elven forest! The outdoor kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed. I believe it was a children’s forest paradise with places to explore and lots of games and activities! We will return!

Where to go

Capitol State Forest

Located between Aberdeen and Olympia, this forest is known for its recreation opportunities, with 150 miles of nature trails and seasonal campgrounds, some of which have corrals for people who want to bring their horses along. Popular activities here include mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, and off-road vehicle driving.

Olympic National Park

Aberdeen is sometimes positioned as the gateway to the Olympic National Park, which encompasses much of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. Encompassing nearly a million acres of protected land, this park is best known for its ecological variety, from the mystical Hoh Rain Forest, which protects majestic old-growth trees, to Sol Duc Hot Springs, a popular spot to soak away your aches and pains.

Westport Light State Park

Encompassing 560 acres, and only a half-hour drive from Aberdeen, the day-use-only Westport Light State Park is a fan favorite among surfers, offering fantastic winter surf conditions. The park has two beaches, a paved boardwalk, and picnic tables galore, but many visitors come to check out the state's largest lighthouse—Grays Harbor Lighthouse—which is situated right inside the park.

When to go

Aberdeen is not exactly known for its weather, and it’s wise to expect cooler temperatures and lots of rainfall no matter when you visit. With that in mind, the best months to visit are in July and August, when temperatures typically reach the upper 60s and rainfall and cloudy days are limited to a couple of days a year. Winters are cold, but rarely freezing, and get tons of rainfall, typical to the Pacific Northwest.
