Cute site and walking trails. Having the grill and tables and wood right by the site was amazing. Hosts were communicative and maintained the sites daily.

2 nights at Seven Islands River Front Camping

My guest and I stayed at site 2 for two nights and had an amazing stay. We came mentally prepared for some awful heat and humidity but the river and a very large tree helped curb a lot of the discomfort. The beach front is nice easy access into the river but be cautious as the current definitely moves. The river bed was clean but there’s a few sharper rocks. My guest did a lot of fishing but and caught a ton of small stuff but nothing he was interested in keeping. We had a menace of a raccoon who all but terrorized us for two days but we kept our food locked up when we weren’t at the site so avoid accidentally feeding it. 10/10 will return to site 2. I’m already looking at future dates.

Beautiful property, very private site, great river access. The owner did a great job with signage that makes the site easy to find. Definitely will return!

Camp in comfort in an enchanted forest! Enjoy the RV, 6-burner propane grill, lighting, and all that you see in the following photos!

Have a big group? There's plenty of room around the camper for tents. We also rent out tents, sleeping pads, etc.

1 night at Phantom Hill Forest Retreats

Had a lovely stay at the hummingbird camp site at phantom hill. The RV was very well equipped and the area was quite beautiful.

We loved our time there. So much space and secluded little cabin to ourselves. Very peaceful!! We had a blast fishing in the lake. Highly recommend!!

1 night at Cornerstone Farm

Nice quiet, clean, spacious spot on the edge of one of their farm fields. Picnic table and fire pit set up there for campers to use. It was absolutely perfect for someone like me driving down south needing a last minute spot to pitch a tent for the night, in order to catch some shut eye before hitting the toad again at 6am.

What a cool place to camp! The host has created a secluded camping area on the grounds of a winery. The campsite has electricity, a nice picnic table, and a massive fire ring with cooking grate. The space is grass covered and has lots of trees but is also open for those who have a Starlink. Would love to come back here on a weekend and check out the winery.

We loved camping here and had plenty of room for the kids and dogs to run and play! The pond was awesome and we enjoyed the floating island and boats. We did experience a lot of ticks with a few of us getting bit while here so be sure to pack your bug spray but other than that, we had a blast and will be back!

I loved camping next to the pond! Great night sounds and morning wake up calls from the birds. The tent kept me perfectly dry during the rain and the bed was comfy. I will definitely go back!! Thanks John, you are a wonderful host!!

The Archer’s Den at Sheridan's Family Farm is truly a scenic sanctuary in Virginia. The spot is situated next to a picture-perfect stream that appears to be frequented by a variety of natural critters. I highly recommend this place for those seeking a private, scenic getaway-away in Virginia that is not too far from the city life. Lois

Great secluded spot to camp. I had the place to myself but the other site was far enough away and out of sight, it wouldn't have made a difference if someone else was there. Would book again.

NOTICE: Some campers are having navigational problems with their phone’s GPS feature. Having a paper roadmap available for a backup is recommended . 9337 Bridgeport Rd, Arvonia Va.23004. NOTE:We have changed things a bit. We are going with only 2 sites this year. Site 1 is no longer available. Turn at the aluminum canoe placed on top of a large orange road barrier at the edge of our drive way. The canoe is bolding displaying the word HIPCAMP with a red arrow leading the way. Follow the drive down to the river front campsites.. Bateau boats pass by both campsites on the third Thursday ofJune. This is due to a yearly Festival held in Scottsville where Historic river boats that used to haul goods up and down the river back in the day are manned by people in period clothing re-enacting the route that was taken. Smallmouth and catfish are biting. Go by a local store and buy night crawlers,worms and a pack of 2/0 hooks and you will catch something . Firewood available per request and delivered for$30.00 a load. Accessible by car or canoe, East End at Seven Islands provides endless fun for the whole family, including your well behaved off-leash dogs. When you arrive take a cooling dip in a quiet “river pool”, relax on your private beach, or see if the fish are biting. Let your kids experience the best the river has to offer by exploring the shallows for crayfish, chasing minnows, or watching for Bald Eagles patrolling the river. Your site is approximately 2 acres, so you will have your choice of where to pitch a tent or place your camper or trailer. Spend your nights stargazing, enjoying a campfire (remember to bring s’mores ingredients), or fishing for catfish. This is an ideal family-oriented campsite about an hour NW of Richmond. Come, enjoy and make some memories! Children 10 and under are free On the other side of the river you might hear a train passing by at different times, both, day and night. Safety Notice: Not accessible by boat, canoe, or kayak when the James River level is 6 feet or higher at Scottsville. At 7.5 - 8 feet, there is not much beach to play on and the river is too dangerous to navigate. You can drive in and camp, but please stay clear of all water activities, including fishing, in these dangerous conditions.

We are a family owned and operated vineyard and farm. Home to Southern Revere Cellars - Farm Brewery and Winery! 70 acres of forest and fields with a small pond and 3 Nigerian Dwarf goats. There are some fish in the pond, but it is catch and release. Located conveniently between Richmond and Charlottesville only 3 miles off I-64 but feels like the secluded countryside. There are trails around the property to explore as well (please be considerate of other campers if present). You are welcome to visit the playground behind the tasting barn too. Porta john is also available in front of tasting room building, and water hose on East side of building for small amounts of water if needed (not intended to fill camper tanks). *Do note that we are a public business open Thurs-Mon, so there may be some noise and driveway traffic during open hours. Noise ordinance begins at 10pm, so it will wrap up by then at the latest. Though we encourage you to join the fun!
