Well it’s here. I’m Located in Wakefield Virginia. If you’re traveling to Virginia Beach I’m one hour away. From my farm there is a free ferry in Scotland where the ferry departs to Williamsburg just 30 minutes. At my farm I have 5 sites for tent/camping so it’s spaced appropriately apart I have 2 Rv sites totally away for their privacy and a new mini house also properly spaced away. All have a clean picnic table and a fire pit. 100 feet away you’ll find that clean bathroom, shower and a wash station for hygiene. You’ll see the love I put into this and because I love it and my prior guests love it, which means it may be right for you also. In the town of Wakefield you’ll find gas stations, dollar stores, a Value food market and if you want (to go) food we have that also. Plus it’s home to The Virginia Diner. Amenities include toilet access, a shower, trash disposal, picnic tables, and potable water. Pets are allowed, as are campfires.

Located in Victoria Virginia, the farm is an hour to Richmond, 45 minutes to Farmville, and 45 minutes from John Kerr reservoir (on the boarder of NC). We are pet friendly, and the property is completely fenced. Enjoy free unlicensed fishing on property in our small pond, stocked with catfish and bluegills, or let the pups swim away the summer heat. Enjoy a walk on the nearby Tobacco Trail, fish at one of the many nearby rivers and lakes. Roast marshmallows over a fire and stargaze or catch fireflies all night. All sites have access to a portable compost toilet, and we can provide water for the sun showers. We have tent sites, and an RV site, 420friendly but we do not partake. PLEASE NOTE: No Check In After 9PM! The camp sites are only available with direction of host ( new closer parking area and camp area access gate for 2025!!) Exceptions can be made in an emergency stay. THINGS TO DO IN TOWN: Bike or hike the Tobacco Trail and see the railroad park. Local farmers market and livestock sales- down town. The lake at the VFW- good fishing and lovely strolling paths See the falls or fish and hike at Nottaway Falls. NEAR BY ATTRACTIONS: Swim, relax and enjoy the waterfall at Whittle’s Mill- 35 min drive. John Karr Dam and Reservoir- great sandy swimming beaches. Fishing, hiking and picnic areas. Best place ever! 45 minutes south. . Amenities/ Activities: friendly sheep, goats and horses to pet and feed metal detectors to borrow free fishing and poles provided free fire wood- collect your own or from cut piles laundry for a fee in house pots and pans to cook grill for site upon request free fresh eggs Horse rides available for donation which helps offset feed or veterinary needs. This experience may not be available due to weather or other factors, be sure to talk to us prior to your visit to determine availability and requirements. Your off leash pets must be ok with chickens. We do have an overly excited friendly blue Heeler that roams our farm.

Lacie and her family were extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The tent campsites felt super private, the land is beautiful. They provided us with treats to feed the horses, they keep fishing and cooking equipment in their barn for you to use. They even hooked us up with some cooking oil when we forgot ours. Only minutes from town but you feel like you're worlds away out there. They sent us off with a fresh dozen eggs and smiles. We had an amazing time and will absolutely be back.

The campground itself is situated right on the river with a very thoughtful set of steps leading down to a beachy area. Plenty of space to set up tents and have designated areas for games, cooking, etc. The host was super welcoming and brought a load of firewood out to us to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We will absolutely be coming back.

Best place ever! We came and had our first camping trip as a family. Marvin and his wife were extremely kind, understanding, patient and supportive. My ten year old son absolutely loved camping here at the farm and Marvin made us feel like we were at our other home. We are already planning to go back! What a dream of a trip! Thank you Marvin for ensuring my son and husband are convinced camping is our thing. And being only a hour from Downtown Norfolk, oh we will def return often as we can.

I really enjoyed my stay at this campsite. The area was very clean and well-maintained, and the host was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. I especially loved spending time fishing — the spot is peaceful and relaxing, perfect for unwinding outdoors. The only downside was noticing that quite a few trees have been cut down since my last visit. It’s still a beautiful place, but it doesn’t feel quite as shaded or natural as before. Overall, though, it remains a great location for camping, relaxing, and enjoying nature. I’d definitely come back again.

I really enjoyed the site it was spacious. The trail was really nice, gave me a sense of connecting with nature. I just wish that there was a large growth of trees or bushes to separate the area from the subdivision that was across from it. Yes, I would go back again but I probably would get the other site that's further up in the woods. I enjoyed hearing the chickens early in the morning and they did come to visit me while I was on site. Thanks for having me.

Lovely place to camp! We had a great time, and our dog really loved being off leash throughout our stay. Me and my husband appreciated having an outhouse and camp shower too. But something to consider is the walk from car to campsite, which could be difficult for some people. There are destinations nearby to fish, hike, swim and sightsee. The hosts, Lacie and Doug, are sweet and helpful. We were given black walnuts, muscadine grapes and wild oranges that all grow on their land. So cool to see that. Overall, we had a great time!
