Lacie and her family were extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The tent campsites felt super private, the land is beautiful. They provided us with treats to feed the horses, they keep fishing and cooking equipment in their barn for you to use. They even hooked us up with some cooking oil when we forgot ours. Only minutes from town but you feel like you're worlds away out there. They sent us off with a fresh dozen eggs and smiles. We had an amazing time and will absolutely be back.

Lovely place to camp! We had a great time, and our dog really loved being off leash throughout our stay. Me and my husband appreciated having an outhouse and camp shower too. But something to consider is the walk from car to campsite, which could be difficult for some people. There are destinations nearby to fish, hike, swim and sightsee. The hosts, Lacie and Doug, are sweet and helpful. We were given black walnuts, muscadine grapes and wild oranges that all grow on their land. So cool to see that. Overall, we had a great time!

Little slice of farm heaven

Charming farm filled with variety of animals. Owners are nice people with great hospitality. Definitely recommend the carrot cake and the french toast breakfast. Nice wooded area for camping site.The sunrise complete with foggy pastures. Would recommend and will return.

An animal lovers & campers delight!

Lacie and Doug were the kindest people I have come across in a long time. They cared about my comfort level and were extremely accommodating. They have such a beautiful relationship with their animals. There are a lot of camp sites to choose from and their house has an authentic farm feel. The French toast was delicious. They made it easy to check in and out. I would HIGHLY recommend this experience. I can’t say enough positive things about this family. They have a wonderful son who was very helpful. He is going to do great things! The future is bright! Thank you Reckless Raven!

I had a fantastic time at Reckless Raven! I really enjoyed meeting the sheep, goats, and horses. Doug and Lacie were very generous hosts and I felt right at home there. The campsite itself was beautiful, next to fields and trees with just enough space from the other campsites. I'd absolutely stay here again next time I'm passing through Virginia.

Fabulous Experience

Bell Tent

I stayed one night at Lacie and Doug’s farm while on a long bike ride, and it was perfect. The tent was roomy, comfortable, and had everything I needed after a full day on the road. The farm itself is quiet and peaceful, a great place to rest and recharge. Lacie and Doug were wonderful hosts—friendly, welcoming, and easy to talk to. I really appreciated their hospitality and would definitely recommend their place to other travelers passing through.

Doug and Lacie went above and beyond!! Doug helped me get my camper backed in and leveled. Lacie walked a bottle opener out to us in the rain!! Great conversation. Loved all the animals. Peaceful. Lacie made a killer breakfast for us. Both of them helped pack up the camper and got us on our way. Awesome place, awesome people. We will be back!

Camping here is perfect. They went above and beyond everything that we could have thought of, we really enjoyed the site and conversations. Spending time with the animals was amazing, and we got lucky enough to ride the horses. They were incredibly patient and thorough with how to handle or give treats, and the animals were all so well behaved and loved the attention. The fishing was great, and they took us to the reservoir before going on our way. My favorite however was waking up, and walking the trail as the sun rose above the fog. This was the most peaceful camping I've ever had, and I can't thank y'all enough for hosting!

Bell Tent

The land was beautiful and so peaceful. The bell tent was huge and so comfortable. Lacie and her husband were so kind and friendly. Their Blue Heeler is adorable and a complete sweetie. She hung out with my dog and myself for an afternoon. It was a very hot weekend, the outdoor shower was essential. Their animals are cute and it was a lot of fun to meet the sheep and goats. I just got home today and already am planning my next trip out there!

Fun interaction with farm animals!

Fantastic farm stay! Book your stay at Reckless Raven Farm! I loved lots of interaction with the farm animals provided with the guidance of Lacie and her husband. I got to brush a horse and lead it to graze. I felt like a kid again! Peaceful time walking around and sitting at the pond, feeding fish and turtles. I parked in the shade near the house for access to the bathroom. Lacie and her husband are gracious hosts, telling me about the history of the farm and even shared some meals with me. I look forward to returning.

Feel like a kid again! Terrific!

Fabulous stay! I got to feel like a kid again! I loved the hands on interaction with the farm animals with direction and guidance from Lacie and her husband. The animals included goats, two one month old goats, sheep, three horses, rooster, chickens, fish, frogs, turtles and two terrific dogs. I enjoyed giving treats and feeding some of the animals along with brushing one of the horses. It was fun observing their interactions and having lots of memorable hands on experiences. I sat in the shade by the pond watching the fish, turtles and frogs. It was peaceful, listening to the birds singing. I parked my RV near their house, having convenient use of the shower and toilet. Lacie and her husband are fantastic hosts, kind, helpful, friendly and even shared a delicious meal and other food with me. I had a fabulous stay and I look forward to returning!

Bell Tent

We had an amazing time camping in the bell tent. Lacie and Doug were super kind and went above and beyond to make us comfortable, Lacie thought of all the little creature comforts we could need and even supplied us with a little grill and dishes etc. The bed was super comfy, so much that we overslept the next morning :) My daughter enjoyed all animals who were all extremely friendly and feeding the fish in the pond by the tent. We have stayed at quite a few hip camps and this is definitely one of our favorites! Beautiful property, people, animals and everything you need for a glamping experience ❤️

Goats, Horses, and Happiness!

We had such a wonderful stay! The farm was peaceful and beautiful, and we truly loved spending time around all the animals. The baby goats were absolutely adorable, and it was such a treat to see the horses and other animals up close. It made for such a unique and memorable experience. A couple friends and I van camped and Lacie and her family were extremely hospitable. Beautiful farm land and we even got to feed the horses, goats, and sheep! Very quiet. We slept great and had a lovely morning to enjoy our coffee before heading out.

My fiance and I has so much fun camping here!!! The animals were so friendly, and we had so much fun riding the horses and peting the goats and sheep. Lacie and Doug are amazing and fun to be around. We will be definitely coming back next season!!!

I have not encountered more kind and helpful hosts while camping. They made sure our stay was comfortable and that we had everything we needed. My daughter loved visiting with the horses, goats, sheep, and chickens. The woods were lovely to walk around and the night sky was beautiful.

Everything turned out very great. We couldn’t set up the tent at the place because of arriving very late. LaCie was very helpful even at late night. She allowed us to use their personal restroom in their homes and allowed us to camp near the pool. I will definitely recommend this place

Amazing spot. Absolutely gorgeous, nothing bad to say. The owners are great, friendly, very helpful. Always responsive and even helped carry some of my stuff to the site. Provided me with everything I needed for camping and we even got to ride her beautiful horses!! Worth every single penny. And we will be back.

Lacie and her family offered a very welcoming camping experience with a site that had clearly received a lot of care and attention. They had a nice outdoor bathroom, free firewood and fishing gear. My mom and I only stayed one night but we wish we could’ve stayed more. The site had plenty of potential space to set up camp as well as the amenities listed above. In all it was a great stay! (We highly recommend feeding the goats and sheep, they’re super cute)
