Learn more about this land: Come take a load off at this forested Richmond retreat overlooking Reedy Creek. Set up a tent, car camp, or bring your small trailer to one of two sites on a unique property backed up to 20+ acres of woods. Imagine a hidden gem where you can relax to the sounds of rushing water and chirping birds, but can walk or bike to coffee shops, breweries, restaurants, parks or the river. If you are coming into Richmond for a Brown's Island event we are a five minute Uber to an access point using the Potterfield walking bridge (it's a beautiful walk across the James River to the island). Each campsite includes 3 level spots to pitch tents (see dimensions below), and a connected space to park one car, van or small trailer. The large parking space can be used as a fourth tent footprint if needed. There are additional parking spaces. Each site has a fire pit (with firewood on site), a grate to grill over the fire, a picnic table, and a hammock. There is a shared outbuilding with a composting toilet, hand washing sink, outdoor shower (solar warmed), and space to change privately.  Campsite W ~  Tent footprints: 1) 10' x 12' 2) 10' x 13' 3) 9' x 10' Campsite E ~ Tent footprints: 1) 15'x16' 2) 10' x 15' 3) 9' x 10' **Pricing is based on groups of up to four adults or two adults with children. For groups of five to seven adults there is an additional charge of $10 person per day. For groups of eight or more we suggest you reserve both sites and have the entire camp to yourselves. Campsites W and E are about 80' apart. Both are around 100' to the creek. The spots can accommodate a total length (towing vehicle plus trailer) of up to 35 ft. There is an outdoor spigot with potable water and hoses for clean up. The woodlands and creek adjacent to the campsites have trails that are accessible to the public. You and your furry friends are welcome to use these paths, but know that others may be using them too. Richmond has so much to offer and we are just a hop, skip, and a jump to many wonderful attractions - kayak or sunbathe on the James River, walk or bike on trails around the city, rock climb, dine, imbibe. Peace Hill is a beautiful working farm which provided plenty of level space to camp. There is plenty of room to load and unload tow vehicles. The generous permission to use the community center kitchen and bath were outstanding perks. For bicycle enthusiasts, its proximity to the Capital Bike Trail Charles City Parking area was a bonus. For tourists, it is close to Jamestown and Williamsburg. I loved watching the exercising of the horses. The friendly waves of those feeding the farm animals made me feel welcome. Susan was very accommodating when I had to leave early due to snow. I will definitely revisit this site when in the area. FYI: I found it best to put Peace Hill Fellowship in when goggling directions so I wouldn't end up at the Bed & Breakfast.

This is a gem of a spot! You feel like you're in the woods AND you're so close to all the Richmond action. The composting toilet and bathroom were very comfortable. The creek is gorgeous. Had everything we needed! Will definitely stay again.

Short trails run throughout the woods adjacent to the campsite.

Wonderful campsite! Peaceful and nature-ific; such a delight right in the city. Loved the included wood on site and hammock. Absolutely recommend and would come back. Note that the city noises at night (which host is transparent about) are real; there are trains with blaring horns every night several times, so just bring your ear plugs. There are also coyotes, abundant birdsong and the babbling creek to listen to :)

Beautiful trails and streams to say the least. While yes, you definitely know your in the city. The host do a great job with the site. Restroom is clean and fire wood+ supply’s were all readily available to use. The hiking trails are right there to explore and good for beginners and intermediate hikers.

This is a wonderful location tucked away in the city. A hidden gem. Everything is provided for you to include a bathroom and showers and a lot of firewood. Campsite E was very big and had many places to pitch a tent. We chose to car camp, but was still very close to the campsite itself. It has a play ground for children and a privacy fence to block you from the other campsite. The hammock is a nice touch, plenty of tables and chairs. Watching the sunrise over the creek in the morning was amazing.

But Busch Gardens is just a few miles away if that is what you want. We stayed two extra days to better explore Colonial Williamsburg and the other historical sites - our main goals for this stay.

The campground itself is situated right on the river with a very thoughtful set of steps leading down to a beachy area. Plenty of space to set up tents and have designated areas for games, cooking, etc. The host was super welcoming and brought a load of firewood out to us to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We will absolutely be coming back.

You don’t find many camping spots within the city limits yet feel like you’re in the middle of the woods. Such a cool space along Reedy Creek with plenty of room to spread out/group camp. There’s a fire pit on each site, firewood provided, a picnic table, chairs etc. Close to all that RVA has to offer yet secluded. The host is very communicative making sure you have everything that you need. I live within 15 minutes and I still book nights here from time to time just to get away! I highly recommend it!
