There is a large pond out front that is great for fishing as well as lots of woods and open fields. There are trails that run all throughout the property for walking or horseback riding. There is really something for everyone to do!We're surrounded by working farms on all sides so, thankfully, the only noise is from a heard of sheep across the way, or some deer in the forest. It’s a truly peaceful outdoor getaway. As hosts, we typically greet our visitors at some point during their stay, though we are very happy to respect total privacy. We hope you enjoy the wonderful sunsets, creek access, and stars above as much as we do!About the Listing:Come pitch your tent or park your RV on our property and set up camp at the edge of our farm! We have a few other campsites, well-spaced apart, so you can expect to see other campers periodically throughout your stay in passing or in common areas such as the toilet. You will be able to enjoy privacy and all the serenity that the outdoors has to offer! There is cooking grate on the fire pit so you can cook up some delicious meals. We’d suggest bringing some camping chairs if you’re tent camping to enjoy your meals or your morning coffee, as we do not have a picnic table on site. You can also enjoy cozying up by the private campfire and toasting some marshmallows at sunset. We have potable well water for our campers as well as a shared double stall composting toilet for your comfort. The toilets are set up near the campsites for added convenience. There's an Exxon station less than .5 a mile from our entrance, and Public Access to the Rockfish River is available .75 mile away. Charlottesville is an easy 25 minute drive. 10/2022: Fire extinguishers and first aid kids now available at the entrance to each property! 08/2022: Picnic Tables and Fire Rings now provided! Located in rustic Bells Crossroads, VA three miles from I-64, Billyville is a work in progress featuring 2 tent and 4 RV sites with electric hookup and lots of space. Wifi, well water from a hose and composting outhouse facilities are available. Other amenities include a six hole disc golf course, little free library. Within one hour’s ride is a wealth of things to do, experience and see; within reach are the Shenandoah mountains, the University of Virginia and Charlottesville and Lake Anna . There is something for everyone from children to seniors, from outdoor adventurers, to history buffs, arts and entertainment seekers, bargain shoppers and local gourmet food and drink lovers. At days end you can go to concerts or “clubbing” in town or return to Billyville and enjoy the quiet, peaceful ambiance of a campfire under a starlit sky. Check-Ins and Arrival Instructions: Check-ins on weekdays are dependent on my work schedule. If this is your first time at Billyville, I need to be on property to guide you into your site. Please reach out before your stay so we can coordinate. If I am off on that day, check-in is after 1pm. If I am working, it will be after 5pm and occasionally after 7. I am currently testing out some procedures to allow self check-in. We'll see how that pans out. Anyway, to get to Billyville: Turn onto Bells Lane. (Dirt Road). You'll see a white fence on your left down the lane about .2 miles. Just after the fence, you'll see a red sign at the beginning of a rope fence. Turn off Bells Lane just after the sign and follow the fence, keeping it on you left. This is a private site near a nice little creek for the youngins to play around in along with a big field and woods. The road noise isn't too bad. Its far enough away it just becomes part of the background. The amenities on site (table, cover, fire ring, etc.) are a nice touch too.

What a great spot for an overnight camp. Even a weekend getaway would be nice. But for us we stayed here for the night to head down to Overland Expo in the morning. It’s secluded, no one else around besides the occasional car coming down the road. A little wet but no problems with 4WD. Lisa was a great host as well. Nice, accommodating and fast with responses. 11/10 would recommend for a quiet night away.

Kerwin and his family saved my son's 16th birthday celebration. We made a reservation for tent style accommodations for the evening but when we arrived, it was FAR from what was advertised. We had to scramble to find somewhere else and Kerwin responded immediately to my almost 8pm request to book and answered his phone when I panic called. (This was literally 10 minutes after I requested to book, and he said he was right in the middle.of texting me back. The RELIEF I felt in that moment is indescribable) Kerwin and family are the sweetest and I cannot explain how grateful I am for their hospitality. The home was immaculate when we arrived and waking up to a field of cows and 2 of the cutest donkeys ive ever seen was amazing. The property, the people, the vibe, the atmosphere- its all perfect! Unfortunately we had to leave before we could meet Kerwin or his other farm animal family members in person,but we will absolutely be back! Maybe even to get married at their stunning wedding venue!!!! 100% perfect. Book it, youll regret it if you dont!

5 nights at Billyville in Bells Crossroads

I would highly recommend Billyville to other Hip campers. Our Host Billy was very quick to respond in messages from the very start. Upon arrival, we were greeted friendly and felt welcomed. The site is very quiet. We really enjoyed the serenity of an evening fire under the starlit sky. Billy had got our fire ready to light. All we had to do was light it. Very nice. The entrance is down a one lane road. Well maintained. Very easy to navigate. We have a 31 foot 5th wheel (13’ high), and had no problems getting in. Billy met us and guided us into our spot. It is a big pull thru. The site is grassy. Not muddy. Easy to level. Set up with a fire ring, a picnic table, and two Adirondack chairs. There is a 30 amp plug. We have 2 dogs. And was surprised to hear Billy had just finished creating a dog run. On the property is the Bandshell. Where Billy puts on concerts with other talented musicians. So it being Labor Day weekend, we got to enjoy a concert. If you’re looking for a very quiet place to stay, this is it.

Remove feeling but still close to amenities, tractor Supply Company (propane), Food Lion (groceries), BBQ Exchange (best bbq in long time, and great cup cakes and pies), several fun breweries and wineries.

Friendly and accommodating, was able to help with special requests. Fire pits were prepped with kindling and (free) fire wood, all we had to do was light a match. Easy and fun. Sites were were green grass and mostly level. Remote feeling, yet fairly close to some great places, best Bar-B-Q ever at BBQ Exchange, close to Food Line (groceries) and Tractor Supply (propane) as well as several excellent brew pubs. At least 3 holes of Disc golf on premeses, I don’t play but saw 3.

Billy's place is really nice. He prepped the fire ring for us and brought us even some kindling wood to start it. His land is vast and we saw gracing deer every day. Super good location. Many breweries and wineries around and place to hike as well. Billy answered quickly if we had any questions or concerns.

Weekend Trip to Smith Farm

Peaceful, private and quiet stay with beautiful views of the lake and farmland! I enjoyed walking under tall pine trees, on the gravel road and along the lake. I had access to electric with my extension cord and a bathroom where I camped near their beautiful wedding venue. Kerwin and his wife showed me to the site, were very welcoming and gracious. They were available for any questions or help I may need. I camped two nights then came back the following week!

Fabulous stay! Peaceful and very quiet. Beautiful views of meadows with cows out in the pasture, wooded areas and the lake. Gravel roads to walk along part of the lake and the wedding venue. The wedding venue is magical! Sunsets lit up the sky through the trees with vibrant orange colors. Stars at night and lots of firefly’s. I had access to a shower, toilet and electric to hook up my extension cord. My stay was restful and peaceful. I will return!

Weekend Trip to LongView Farm

We had a great weekend at sandy bottom. From reading previous reviews, I knew before booking that there was going to be road noise. We use earplugs at night so this wasn’t a big deal for us. The most important thing for us and what I most loved about this property is how close it is to hiking and brewery’s. It’s about 15 minutes from devils backbone, bold rock and three notch brewery. And about 20 to 30 minutes from Crabtree falls, humpback rocks and other great hikes. We loved being the only campers in the area and the creek was nice and relaxing to have right there
