Accessible by car or canoe, East End at Seven Islands provides endless fun for the whole family, including your well behaved off-leash dogs. When you arrive take a cooling dip in a quiet “river pool”, relax on your private beach, or see if the fish are biting. Let your kids experience the best the river has to offer by exploring the shallows for crayfish, chasing minnows, or watching for Bald Eagles patrolling the river. Your site is approximately 2 acres, so you will have your choice of where to pitch a tent or place your camper or trailer. Spend your nights stargazing, enjoying a campfire (remember to bring s’mores ingredients), or fishing for catfish. This is an ideal family-oriented campsite about an hour NW of Richmond. The Pamunkey people have been here for over 10,000 years making this area one of the oldest reservations in the country. We have a small platform sitting right on the water for privacy and beautiful views of the river. You may see Bald Eagles, Grey Herons, Ducks, Geese, River Otters, and so much more. During low tide, the water is pulled back into the main part of the river and this is where you will see the wildlife during this time. There are up to 8 Bald Eagles here at a time and during the Spring to Fall, you will see Osprey hunting for food right in front of you and usually getting chased by the Eagles. What an awesome site to be able to camp and be a part of so many creatures all in their natural habitat. We live right up the hill.  Depending on where your tent is located, you may or may not see our home.  Usually you cannot but want you to be aware.  When you are camping, we respect your space and privacy to the fullest. During the full moon, the water on the campsite will rise and you will need to camp closer to the land.  Also, when the tied is out, you will not be able to launch the canoe or kayak. There is a short path to walk and it is a very short incline.   Please note that hunting season starts in October, and you may hear the noise.

Check-Ins and Arrival Instructions: Check-ins on weekdays are dependent on my work schedule. If this is your first time at Billyville, I need to be on property to guide you into your site. Please reach out before your stay so we can coordinate. If I am off on that day, check-in is after 1pm. If I am working, it will be after 5pm and occasionally after 7. I am currently testing out some procedures to allow self check-in. We'll see how that pans out. Anyway, to get to Billyville: Turn onto Bells Lane. (Dirt Road). You'll see a white fence on your left down the lane about .2 miles. Just after the fence, you'll see a red sign at the beginning of a rope fence. Turn off Bells Lane just after the sign and follow the fence, keeping it on you left. With some of the best smallmouth bass fishing the James River has to offer, this is perfect stopover for a take out at the New Canton/Bremo Bluff boat landing 4 miles downstream. Enjoy an overnight or a couple of days. The 2 acre campsites are on an elevated sand and gravel bar on the north and south shores of Big Island. There's ample room for multiple tents and boats. Pools and slow moving water to cool off after your float down, and a great place for catfishing and watching satellite fly-bys at night. Plenty of Bald Eagles, Ospreys, and just about all of Virginia's animals inhabit this section of the James.  Enjoy the scenery!  KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK and GO  1. Check out river levels, forecasts and warnings. There can be class 1 and 2 rapids (and more) depending on river height. Very experienced paddlers only once the river gets above approximately 5.0 feet or so at Scottsville. The host will gladly rebook your stay should the river height not be safe for your group. This is a rustic little spot about 15 minutes off Rt. 460 in central VA. No amenities, so bring everything you will need, but Merritt was responsive and quite hospitable. The land is privately located among a small hardwood tree grove, but has nice pond views to one side and fields on 2 other sides. Merritt and his wife are lovely people and fascinating to talk to.

Weekend Trip to Seven Islands River Front Campsites
My partner took me camping for my birthday and he chose the site. The view was spectacular and the hosts were very friendly! There is a really cool train that passes on the other side of the water, and it is so cool to watch. We got a bundle of wood, and it lasted us all weekend. I was on site 2, and the only suggestion I might make is to perhaps make stairs going down to the water level area. I'll be back for sure!

We enjoyed our stay on this property! The archers den campsite felt very private and had plenty of space. We loved the big fire pit with cooking grate.. The three campsites are far enough away from the winery/brewery that you don’t feel like you are camping at public business. Even though they had live music playing and seemed pretty busy we could barely hear anything going on. On the other hand if you wanted to enjoy the festivities it’s just a short walk from the campsites.

Weekend Trip to Southern Revere Vineyard & Farm
This campsite was great and the winery/ brewery on site was so much fun. Our puppy loved the dog park as well as walking around the campsite. The picnic table and fire pit were high quality and thus was the perfect back drop to the Fall season. Will definitely be coming back. Sheridan was wonderful and very quick to respond even when I mistakenly went to the wrong location, she redirected us with ease!

A wonderful little slice of heaven, with amazing hosts! We had the best stay in the little cabin, which had everything one might want for a nature-filled and quiet weekend getaway! Julie made sure we had everything we needed, but also left us to enjoy everything the site had to offer! 10/10, would highly recommend!

2 nights at Private camp site with water access to Lake Anna, VA
Robert's site was as advertised. Super privacy, full hookups. Robert was there to meet us, blowing leaves and putting things in tip-top shape for our stay. We enjoyed the firepit (bought some wood from him) and spent the day exploring Mineral (a couple of consignment shops, 53rd Winery--awesome--and Tim's Restaurant on the lake). This place is just under an hour from our home and great for quick getaways. It's on our list to do again!

Our group loved staying at Archer’s Den at Southern Revere Cellars. We really enjoyed the fact that our spot was hidden away from guests at the tasting barn, but if we wanted to the barn was an easy walk away to try the wine and beer. The fire pit they provide is a really nice touch and communication with the host was easy and timely. The only recommendation we have is to bring in bigger signage for each campsite. We totally missed the small sign/arrow for our campsite so we had to ask the host for the location. Overall great time and we will be back!

Had a great time camping at Southern Revere! The site is relatively private and you are tucked away from other campers. You can hear events at the winery, but it's not too loud and they aren't open super late. Host is very kind and responsive. Portapotties are a short walk away, and it was great to be able to visit the tap room and wander back to camp after. Will come again!

Loved the private camp site. You won't get that type of privacy at a typical campground. The grounds are very nicely maintained with many walking trails. The ground at the harvest hill site was very level and perfect for our pop-up. Nearby spot-o-pot was handy. Also great to be able to walk to brew/wine/food/music at the tasting room. Enjoyed both the beer and wine. Highly recommend.

We love camping at Moon & Julie's. This must be our 6th time. The solitude and on site hiking trails are perfect for us. Plus, it's not too far a jaunt to see the local historical areas, scenery, and nearby apple markets etc. You'll have acres to your self. We stay in Persimmon Patch #1 in the open grass area. It gives our dogs space to play and sun on our solar panels to keep things charge. We highly recommend staying at Moon and Julie's Hawthorne Hollar.

Weekend Trip to Reservation Camping on the Water!
I really enjoyed my stay here. It was exactly what I was looking. Peace and quiet (except for the thousands of geese, but their ruckus was peaceful as well). Allyn and Duane were wonderful hosts, ensuring I had everything I needed and the privacy I desired. There was a burn ban issued two days before my arrival and they graciously supplied me with charcoal and even a little charcoal grill! The sunsets were beautiful, the night sky amazing and the eagle sightings were plentiful! Bring binoculars if you come. You'll get amazing views. All in all, a wonderful trip and I plan on coming annually for the foreseeable future. Thanks Allyn and Duane! Oh, and opt in for the outdoor shower! It was amazing and the view incredible.

I really liked our spot on the hill. The light pollution was very low allowing for a great view of the night sky. In addition, the area has 5G so star gazing apps work well. I enjoyed the beer and red wine offered at the tasting room and the band that played was nice as well. You can buy food to feed the goats at the tasting room.

We had a great weekend at the Southern Revere Winery & Brewery. We stayed at Hearth Hill with an incredible view of the night sky. There was a portajohn just a few steps from our site which was used by us and the campers at the other 2 sites. All campsites were very private. The property has a fenced dog park, a playground, live music on Saturdays, and 3 adorable goats! The folks in the tasting barn were friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was the food truck cuisine. Bring your own picnic basket since the food truck options on both Saturday and Sunday offered limited choices and overpriced small portions. There are lots of trails throughout the property. Blue jays, cardinals, and lots of other birds enjoyed the berries on the Eastern Red Cedar trees. We saw no other wildlife which surprised us. We thought we'd see squirrels, chipmunks, deer, foxes, and rabbits, but did not see or hear any of these animals. We highly recommend this hipcamp! It was easy to find, easy to access our campsite, and simple in and out. We enjoyed campfires both nights with the firewood we purchased as an extra. It was stacked near our firepit when we arrived.
