Tri Mountain View Campground is located in the Northeast corner of Tennessee in the town of Shady Valley. With an elevation of 2,800 feet, Shady Valley is the second highest town in Tennessee. The property was a Dairy Farm and went out of business in the late 90’s and since then there has been over 3,000 trees planted. Both domes can be booked individually or together (please see my other listings in my profile for availability). My goal is always to maximize privacy and I’ve worked hard to create guest seclusion and minimize visibility from the other dome. With that, the domes are separated by 150 feet but are connected via a staircase that has been built into the mountain. If another couple is staying in the other dome during your stay, it is likely that you may hear them during your stay. Finally, our ideal location and close proximity to Blowing Rock is a direct result of our proximity to NC 321. Guests should be aware that they may hear road noise. STEEP MOUNTAIN DRIVEWAY: Please note that the driveway to the TreePod is a mountain road that is ONLY accessible by AWD or 4x4. If you are not comfortable driving on gravel mountain roads, or do not have a 4x4 or AWD, you’re welcome to park at a dedicated space at the top of the driveway and take a 450’ hike to the dome. WINTER WEATHER: In the event of a winter weather during your stay you will be required to park at the top of the driveway regardless of what type of vehicle you arrive in. This does involve a short 350’ walk from that location to the GeoDome door. In general snow fall is light and usually melts the next day. HEATING/COOLING: The Treepod includes both heating and cooling as well as several space heaters and electric blankets. While we make every attempt to create a comfortable environment the domes are not insulated in the same way your home may be and does not heat and cool like a conventional home or apartment. (Both the foam mattress and the futon will have freshly laundered sheets.) If you plan to use the grill, please bring your own charcoal. Grilling utensils are provided. Please arrive before sundown so we can meet you the first time you stay to show you the way and make sure you are comfortable driving Gator. We will have you follow us up to the campsite and from there you can come and go and just leave the Gator by your car near the barn when you are out and about and when checking out. A small Bluetti power charging station will be available in the tent (for light charging of cell phones, other) which can be recharged by the barn if used heavily. This is a quiet, rustic retreat on a family farm designed to reconnect with nature and find peace. -No littering -Do not feed the wildlife OR the farm animals (except if participating in provided petting zoo) -Never let pets off leash. Tie out is provided near the dome. ----Activities---- - On the farm: Nature trails, animal feeding experience, telescope rental, canoe rental (for lake 40 minutes away). Seasonal produce picking. -Nearby: Gentry Creek Falls, Wataugua Lake, Damascus VA and the Creeper Trail, Doe Mountain Recreation, Skydiving, Fishing & hunting, horseback riding, local eateries and coffee shops....the list goes on! You may wish to interact with our farm menagerie during your stay. We have supplied a self-service animal feed dispenser by the "barnyard" sign, just beside our tiny house. Feel free to come down between 9AM-8PM to give chickens, geese, ducks, and possibly the goats some treats. NO PETS ALLOWED TO BE WITH YOU WHEN YOU FEED THE ANIMALS, please! Feed is available by donation. Note: Only feed the provided treats, do not feed anything else! Please do not exceed two refills per person! Be aware that animals can bite, kick, scratch, bonk, and poo. You are your own responsibility when interacting with the animals! ----CHECK-IN INSTRUCTIONS---- -Drive up to our farm gate and TAKE THE GUEST FOLDER from the box, clearly marked. Don't mind the barking of our big white livestock guardian dogs from within the nearby pastures, they are just doing their job. Open the gate and CLOSE IT behind you, please :) -Follow driveway up to the top of the hill. Please do not allow any pets out of your vehicle down at our farmyard. Be careful as you pass through this area as we do have children and livestock possibly crossing the road. -Park wherever you feel your vehicle can best manage the sloped driveway. -Open the dome's zipper door and let it air out. Follow the guest folder's instructions for further climate control needs. There will be most of the information you need in the guest folder, as well as in pamphlets and notes around the site. You can also contact us at any time, but the WIFI is sometimes spotty, so it may be necessary to come knock on our door for additional inquiries. (Don't be shy! A few hiccups during our stay were troubleshot quickly – after all we were in nature, living off grid and Mother Nature sometimes surprises us. From the soothing sound of the creek, to the quiet of the glamping’s grounds, to the well appointed amenities (inside and outside), our stay at Falls Creek Retreat was a lovely way to bring in the new year! Paul checked in regularly via email/DM; he was a great host from the time we booked to the time we checked out. We felt safe in and around our cabin. We enjoyed strolls alongside the creek and saying hello during our brief interactions w other guests. His serv/grounds guy Ricky was a pleasure to talk with as well. We had a wonderful stay w our pups and cannot wait to return! Cheers to 2026!

The Artist Studio was the perfect spot to stay on a solo road trip from Eastern Virginia to Nashville. The property was stunning and the studio was clean & cozy. Outstanding location 10 min from downtown Johnson City. The host, Pat, left delicious baked goods in the fridge of the studio. My highlight of the stay was enjoying a fresh baked good & coffee in the sun room overlooking the pond. Highly recommend!

Loved it! There are 3 structures on the property and I’m so glad we got the A-frame. It’s the farthest away from parking and most secluded space. The sound of the creek drowns out all other sounds and you really feel like you’re there alone. The property is beautiful.

Cute cabin with amazing views! If you are lucky enough to catch a sunrise, it’s breathtaking. Make sure to follow the written directions if coming in at night, as turning around if you go too far is a bit tricky. Space heater kept the place toasty and cozy. Lots of trail access near by!

We had a wonderful stay at the Compass Rose! Temps were down in the 30s but we stayed toasty warm with the propane heater and were very comfortable. The doggies were very sweet and well behaved and Eva was a kind and gracious host. 10/10 would recommend!

It was a great time camping in the Geodome! I went with my mother and my dog and we all had a wonderful experience. The creek was so cool and my dog got to splash around a lot. I loved seeing the stars and the fake fireplace kept us very warm on a cold night. Will book again!

Weekend Trip to Longhope Mountain Glamping

My husband and I stayed for a long weekend getaway, and while we love to travel and airbnb all the time, we both agreed that this space was one of our most favorites! The cozy tent-cabin had every amenity we needed while being perfectly simple and romantic - even providing a handful of tea light candles and large glass holders that we graciously took advantage of. We appreciated all the blankets that had us snuggling up together in the cooler temps, as well as the gas heater on the colder night - and because it had doors like a tent on either side we were still able to enjoy breathe taking fall colors while relaxing inside (temperature allowing). The kitchen amenities were perfect for us - we love to cook and thoroughly appreciated the sink, dishware, and gas stovetop - as well as the smokeless fire pit. Everything was clean and exceeded expectations. We’ll definitely be back!

My Family of three stayed in a small cabin right by Elk Creek. We had breakfast on a little balcony overlooking the creek. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Got there during the dark, so not having to setup a tent was certainly a benefit. Dianne is a great host and so very friendly and helpful!
