Located on a scenic dirt road between two covered bridges, our campsite is on the edge of a beautiful, peaceful horse farm. This is a great place to come get away and relax. There are quiet woods to walk through, miles of dirt roads to walk or ride on. We are close to a short hike on Mount Philo or Raven's Ridge. We are 15 minutes away from Lake Champlain and 30 minutes from Burlington and Middlebury.

Wise Pines is a holistic and sustainable Inn/Hiker Hostel with a unique farm stay experience. It sits on 40 acres of land with wooded trails and a pond to sit by. The owners of the property, Chelsey and Jon live with with their two young kids and dogs on the premises. The property is in the woods rustic woods of Vermont, amongst all of its seasons. Please come prepared with a vehicle and shoes that are suited for the season of your arrival (mud, snow and ice) for both our property and the town road we live on. Checking in during daylight hours is advised. Nearby, the town of Woodstock in only minutes away with cute shops and restaurants. There are many local hikes, national and state parks, the Quechee Gorge, white water rapids, The VAST (snowmobile trails), ski resorts and array of local events to attend.

Learn more about this land: Texas Hill Brook camp site The Texas Hill Brook site is a flat, wooded campsite on Texas Hill Brook in Huntington. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Electricity on site, primitive fire pit, but no other facilities, so ALL waste must be packed out. We have a bucket commode to loan if you don’t have your own.

In 15–25 minutes, you can access three different ski resorts and two cross-country ski centers. There is state land across the street and excellent mountain biking on both sides of the gap—in the Mad River Valley and Northfield. You can find river swimming all around, and Blueberry Lake is less than 15 minutes away. In less than 20 minutes, you can be on the Long Trail.

This property overlooking the beautiful Connecticut river (no access to) has two cabins to choose from, one sleeps two people and the other can accommodate three. The property is such a peaceful spot! We have a rustic outhouse, and showers can be taken in the main farmhouse on the property if you would like, available Monday thru Saturday from 8am to 9am. So that means Sundays are not available or evenings. The cabin is outfitted with a comfy bed, fridge, and microwave and coffee maker. We sell firewood to sit around a cozy campfire at night and stargaze! You can even purchase a S'mores package as well! Enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings and listen to the birds. Bottled water is included as well and placed in your fridge upon arrival. Potable water also easily accessible. We will do our best to make you feel at home away from home. In a way that is never intrusive, we respect your privacy. Come and unwind with nature all around you. We are very pet friendly! And ask that all dogs are on a leash while outside. Also, pets are not to be left in the cabins unattended at any time. So, with all that said get yourself and your pets here and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning on your deck looking out to the river. Don't set an alarm, the loons or geese may wake you first!  Listen to the birds and relax!  And if luck is with you, you might spot a bald eagle!   Want to play with goats? We have them! Come say hi to Sam and Frodo! Fresh eggs are available for sale and you can even say hi to the chickens on site! $5.00 a dozen!! Hiking trails are nearby including Groton State Forest, hiking near Willoughby Lake is only about 45 minutes away and is worth the trip! I had a great stay at Ryegate. The cabin was warm and homey, a nice break from camping when the rain and cold arrived. Jessica was welcoming, communicative and responsive. She provided good information about the stay and was kind enough to let me use the shower in the farmhouse, which was much appreciated. The cabin really has all you need... shelter, a cozy bed, a microwave, fridge, and coffee station. Sitting on the front porch with coffee overlooking the river and the mountain tree line is a wonderful way to spend a peaceful morning! The cabin is decorated very cute, which is a nice bonus. Note: You need to be up for a bit of outdoor life ... like using an outhouse and washing dishes in a sink outside. It isn't primitive but it is glamping.

I had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was adorably decorated with a cozy rustic aesthetic and felt very welcoming. The bed was super comfortable, and although there was a space heater provided, I didn’t end up needing it. The host was extremely communicative and helpful, even making sure I had a warm shower in the morning, which I really appreciated. The views of the river were beautiful—especially in the morning with the fog rolling across the water. One of my favorite parts of the stay was the animals on the property—it made the experience feel even more special. I also loved that I was able to bring my dog along with me.

Jess was an amazing host and this was by far the most comfy cozy and CLEAN place on our fall New England trip!! The pictures honestly didn’t do it justice. She really took care of all the details you might need and it was very well presented. We got showed in the morning and the hospitality was amazing. The property is very beautiful and peaceful. Wise Pines was a lovely off-the-beaten-track place to stay near Woodstock. Incredibly comfortable bed and clean amenities. My dog and I enjoyed walking the beautiful gravel road and hanging out in the common space by the fireplace. Definitely recommend!

The cabin had a great view of the river and I enjoyed my stay. My dog was allowed which I always appreciate. Jessica brought a heater for me which was perfect for the chilly nights. I arrived at night and did not see the sink/hose for water. You do have to turn the water on and off from the house. Jessica was very responsive and I was able to meet and chat with her. There are chickens, ducks, and 2 goats but I did not hear any of them at all from the cabin.

Jessica is fantastic and you couldn’t ask for a more well kept place to spend the night. We sprung for the s’mores and firewood packages and I’d highly recommend. Lots of great, dry wood, and you couldn’t pick up the s’mores supplies cheaper yourself— made it all that much easier to have an enjoyable evening.

Jessica is a great host and the cabin was really clean and cute! The set up is really cool and the view is amazing but we can’t have access because the road is private as mentioned by Jessica. The rustic toilet was really tidy! Real dish would be highly appreciated like wine glasses, real plates, glasses instead of paper cup, etc. Also, an additional time to shower after the day (example from 4:00 to 5:00) would be nice after a long hike. Overall the place is great for 1 or 2 nights! Thanks!

The cabin was a perfect getaway for me and my small dog. Facing the river made it feel secluded, but the size of the property also didn’t make us feel too far out there (which is what we wanted). It’s situated perfectly so that you can explore both VT and NH, and Jessica included a variety of great recommendations for local things to do, some of which we did and loved.
