There are forest trails galore and multiple mountain streams with private dipping holes all around. Recharge by a cozy campfire under the stars. You should be looking forward to experiencing a digital detox during your stay. Experiences such as hiking, birding, snowshoeing and biking at various levels surrounds your campsite – pick quiet country roads or challenging mountain trails. Telmark or cross country skiing, sledding and snowmobiling opportunities makes Nature In-tents a year round getaway. A mountain creek is a few steps away providing a tranquil, private spot for “rewilding” your soul. The clear cut boosts plenty of blackberry bushes for picking during late August/September. You’ll have to share with the wildlife, that hopefully you spy, but we can’t make any promises! You will feel like you are miles from civilization, yet only a few miles away you have access to Killington and Woodstock communities for romping, shopping and adventuring. We outline our favorite local spots in our camp manual. It cools off quickly in the evening in the mountains, especially during the fall so please bring warm gear.

The dome is a very short walk into the woods. Code for the lockbox will be provided day of. Heat: The woodstove is the primary heat source with wood provided. If you are unfamiliar with woodstove operation or aren’t comfortable with them we also provide a Mr. Buddy propane heater. The Mr. Buddy takes two 1lb. propane canisters and offers a quick and easy way to keep warm. You will need to purchase your own propane cylinders for use. They are sold at Aubuchon, Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Lowes, Tractor Supply, Walmart and Target in a two pack. Two cylinders will burn on low for up to 11 hours and approx. 6 hours on high. Do not throw out used/empty propane cylinders. They are to be taken with you and recycled appropriately. Water: We provide 1 gallon of drinking water per stay. If you think you will require more, please plan to bring your own. Cooking: Indoors there is a Coleman 2-burner camping propane stove. Outside is a grate for cooking over a fire. You'll leave with new skills and knowledge that you can use to become more self-sufficient in your own life. Winter Camping: If you're a particularly adventurous camper, you could stay during the winter months snowshoeing your way in and out to the Geodome and keeping warm by the fire. Other things to note: Stay within the boundaries of our property and do not go pass the tap lines or to other side of the road. Being in the country you may occasionally hear gun shots, especially during hunting season. What's Nearby: Locally there is our favorite bar, Arrowhead Lodge and also Maquam Winery (seasonal).
