The Texas Hill Brook site is a flat, wooded campsite on Texas Hill Brook in Huntington. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Electricity on site, primitive fire pit, but no other facilities, so ALL waste must be packed out. We have a bucket commode to loan if you don’t have your own.

As the name would suggest, Grand Isle State Park is located on an island. Of all the islands on Lake Champlain its home, South Hero, is the beefiest of the bunch, at 14 miles long and 3 miles wide. Not to worry, no paddling is necessary to get there. The park is easily accessible from Route 2, which runs right through South Hero and is only a 1/2-hour drive from Burlington. Access the Long Trail at multiple locations within a few miles.
BIKING
Bike the back roads of the area—wooded areas, windy or flat terrain, beautiful views, plenty of spots to rest beside a flowing stream. Or, access the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (93+ miles of non-motorized riding/walking on a converted and maintained railway bed).
FISHING/HUNTING
In the mountains we have streams, brooks, and rivers. There are many hotspots for fishing—lots of brook trout! No matter the rod you use, there are many places to try your skills. A fishing/hunting license is needed.
CANOE, KAYAK, TUBE
Got your own? Bring it! The Lamoille River is a few miles away and a favorite for water lovers. Don't have one, there is a great rental place down the road where you can take one out for the day. Looking for another option to the river? The Belvidere Pond is down the road and offers a peaceful place to paddle around surrounded by the mountains.
MAPLE SYRUP/SUGARBUSH
Want to learn about the maple sugaring process? We are always happy to give you a tour of our sugarhouse and the woods, and explain how we turn the tree sap into yummy Maple Syrup. (We only boil January-early April.) We do have this year's crop bottled and available for sale! Buy one for morning pancakes, to add to your morning coffee, or to take home!
WILDLIFE/BERRIES/MUSHROOMS/FIDDLEHEADS
Depending on the time of the year, you can find wild raspberries, blackberries, mushrooms, and fiddleheads. (Please do not pick or eat something if you don't know if it is poisonous!) And, wildlife are around. Look for tracks in the soil, signs they have been there, or if you are really quiet (usually in the early morning or at dusk) you might see deer, geese, or wild turkeys!

Please be prepared to provide your own camping toilet and pack out your trash. If you bring your dog(s), please clean up after them and have "control" as the dirt road is fully in view of the sites. (ATVs (on the trail) and a few vehicles do use the road.)

The Texas Hill Brook site is a flat, wooded campsite on Texas Hill Brook in Huntington. The campsite is roughly 10m x 30m (30' x 100'), large enough for several tents or a small camper/RV. It is accessed by a sloped 50m (about 150') gravel driveway. The narrowest part of the driveway is 2.6m (about 8.5 feet). There is a 3m x 3m (10' x 10') tent platform and a large picnic table. Firewood is provided. Near our home about 120m/400 feet away through the trees but relatively private. Within a short pedal or drive to some of the best mountain biking and hiking Vermont has to offer, 15 minutes to Richmond and Hinesburg, and just a half hour to Burlington. Bike the back roads of the area—wooded areas, windy or flat terrain, beautiful views, plenty of spots to rest beside a flowing stream. Or, access the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (93+ miles of non-motorized riding/walking on a converted and maintained railway bed).
FISHING/HUNTING
In the mountains we have streams, brooks, and rivers. There are many hotspots for fishing—lots of brook trout! No matter the rod you use, there are many places to try your skills. A fishing/hunting license is needed.
CANOE, KAYAK, TUBE
Got your own? Bring it! The Lamoille River is a few miles away and a favorite for water lovers. Don't have one, there is a great rental place down the road where you can take one out for the day. Looking for another option to the river? The Belvidere Pond is down the road and offers a peaceful place to paddle around surrounded by the mountains.
MAPLE SYRUP/SUGARBUSH
Want to learn about the maple sugaring process? We are always happy to give you a tour of our sugarhouse and the woods, and explain how we turn the tree sap into yummy Maple Syrup. (We only boil January-early April.) We do have this year's crop bottled and available for sale! Buy one for morning pancakes, to add to your morning coffee, or to take home!
WILDLIFE/BERRIES/MUSHROOMS/FIDDLEHEADS
Depending on the time of the year, you can find wild raspberries, blackberries, mushrooms, and fiddleheads. (Please do not pick or eat something if you don't know if it is poisonous!) And, wildlife are around. Look for tracks in the soil, signs they have been there, or if you are really quiet (usually in the early morning or at dusk) you might see deer, geese, or wild turkeys!

Was a charming hip camp with lovely decorations and a cosy feel! Only stayed one night. Was a little difficult to figure out where to pitch tent, but we arrived after dark so I can't blame the host!

Weekend Trip to HOWL Women & Gender Justice Retreat
HOWL is a lovely place to stay! The hosts were welcoming and warm, opened their home as if I was an old friend and made sure that I felt comfy and ready to enjoy the beautiful surrounds. I'd recommend staying there - either camping or in the farmhouse - anytime your path takes you to the Upper Valley in Vermont!

Alexia's property was very nice and clean. Surrounded by hills and plenty of trees. We had two picnic tables at our designated area along with a fire pit. Wood was readily available to purchase at the little round the clock store along with products from the farm and some camping items. Would definitely return!

My boyfriend and I found the perfect little place for our weekend getaway. The views were beautiful. We loved watching the sunset over the mountains. Dianne was easy to contact and was readily available when we arrived.

Awesome place to spend a couple of nights for the final weekends of fall! Alexia was great and showing us around the property and getting us settled. Nice fire pit, cute farm store with maple syrup and wood, and nicely spaced out from the other groups. Would definitely recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at Julie and Jim's land with our pups! The property was beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly private. There was so much to do, from exploring the trails through the woods to relaxing by the water. We especially loved taking out the little pedal boat for a spin. Julie and Jim truly thought of everything to make the stay comfortable, and the bathroom was the best one we have seen on hipcamp yet. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, and we will definitley be back!

We had a great experience staying at BonnieDoon Manor. The tent and site are very nice. Everything was clean, and the bathroom had no smell and was very comfortable to use.

I really liked the camp site which was next to a stream. The access to hot water for bathing and a flush toilet made the stay very comfortable. Lindsey & Morgan were also very helpful and nice to talk to.

20 ft travel trailer
This Hipcamp sight was by far the best sight we have ever stayed on. They go above and beyond and absolutely are inspirational with what they have done . It was completely peaceful easy to get to with well marked directions. The grounds were manicured and they had everything we needed to be comfortable. They were very friendly and walked out to meet us after we arrived as if we were old friends. On a scale of 1-5 I give it a six. Perhaps the first sight we have stayed on we could not find anything to improve upon.
