We have mountains in our backyard and the Au Sable River with world class fishing bordering our meadow for a half mile. Great swimming there, also! We are 45 minutes from Lake Placid and 30 minutes from Plattsburgh. Montreal and Burlington, VT are a 1.5 hour drive. Lake Champlain is 15 minutes away. Each has two small rooms where a counselor slept and one large room. There are screened windows with shutters on all sides and screen doors without locks on each end. There are electrical outlets and over head lights in the cabins. We have plans to improve the cabins. Past the cabins is the Green with 4 loose stone firepits. Across from the cabins is the shower house with four hot showers, sink, and toilets. Showers and toilets have closed stalls. Currently, the water system is above ground and will not work in freezing temps. We have installed an outhouse for year round use. All water is from our excellent well. On each side of the former(closed) dining are spots. There are electrical outlets on the outside of the dining hall. People with campers may like to park in the riding arena near the barnyard. There are outlets, but no toilets. Good water is available from the barns. Lovely views of sky and mountains! We also have a beautiful 50 acre field with a household type outlet, but no well. There is an outhouse there. Excellent sky viewing here. This is where we jump and train our horses. Horses may be turned out in this field.

Guests use a beautiful composting toilet just steps from the yurt, our outdoor shower, or indoor shower in colder months. A pellet stove and backup propane heater make the space cozy in any season. East Montpelier is home to nearly 15 miles of walking trails through rolling farmland and forest. Camel's Hump, Mount Hunger and Mt. Mansfield are all within a half 45 minute drive. The local parks department maintains lovely ski trails with panoramic views, and nearby ponds offer wonderful spots for swimming and boating. Lori and Ray are the BEST hosts! The site is very well maintained, clean and spacious! Their driveway is wide enough to accommodate even a large motorhome. When you get here Lori and Ray will be there to welcome you and are a wealth of information to the area and all the things to see and do. The site is set up to easily reach everything from your water, power, sewer and trash. The property is very private but yet a stone throw from town and just a 30 min drive to Lake Placid, Plattsburgh etc and some of the best apple orchards in the United States! The views are stunning and hiking trails galore. If you come here expect to see lots of wildlife grazing nearby and the night sky is amazing. We spent a month here and we can’t wait to come back, Ray and Lori were the perfect hosts, friendly, accommodating, and just the nicest people ever. Every year this will be our “go to place” and our hidden gem to escape every day life. We can’t recommend enough! They get five star rating from us!

Lori and Roy were fantastic hosts at Adirondack Magic. Upon arrival, they were very welcoming, and walked me through all the steps to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. They also provided me with information on what events were going on in the surrounding area which made me feel very connected to the surrounding community. After introductions, they were very respectful of privacy, and only reached out if there were important updates to be shared. They're proximity to the main hiking areas is so ideal, and its such a short drive into town to stock up on supplies if need be (hardware store, groceries, gas ect.). Lori and Roy even arranged an outing with myself and fellow campers, and drove us to a local brewery to enjoy some local beer, pizza and live music. such a fun experience! hope to be back soon!

2 nights at Camp Forever

We recently had a great time at the Tamarack Tent site. This was my 2nd time camping on the property, and our group thoroughly enjoyed it again. There was plenty of deadwood for us to collect and burn to keep our fire going, and the fire pit, screen house, and general campsite area were all clean and prepared for our arrival. We enjoyed many great campfire meals, hiking nearby, and relaxing on the property. At night, the sky was incredibly clear, which made for great star viewing! We also enjoyed seeing the fall foliage of the surrounding landscape. It's a beautiful area. We plan to visit again next year!

We stayed at the Maple Rock Hallow Cabin during fall leaf foliage. The host Kathy was great! The cabin was easy to find, cozy and had all of the amenities we were looking for. The cabin is about 45 minutes to Stowe, which is where we wanted to explore. We did not have great cell service in the area, but we expected that. The cabin had streaming services on the TV. It was a perfect stay and we 100% recommend!

Perfect spot to unplug and explore the area. Our dogs loved the large field to roam and explore. Couldn't ask for a nicer place to be off-grid. Be sure to follow Mark's directions, especially if pulling a trailer. There really isn't a driveway to turn into, just a grassy slope down to the site. We missed the turn and had to drive several miles up the road to turn around....our bad!!! ATT-2 bars if needed.
