We live in this 1830's farmhouse and travel with our Airstream Basecamp 20X. Often boondocking, and knowing the need for an easy-access place to park our RV, whether it be for a night or a week, we decided to open our driveway to help our fellow RV-travelers explore both the Burlington, VT area and enjoy the great outdoor adventures the Green Mountain State has to offer. We also have a tent platform with a camp kitchen and outhouse as an additional option for Hipcampers. BEST OF ALL, either way, you have easy access to visit with our four fainting goats.

The farm sits on 90 acres right up against the Hogbacks and is only 5 miles from quaint Bristol village and tons of outdoor recreation opportunities. Our cozy, private, rustic mountain yurt is a 30’ foot space located in an upper field tucked into a wooded hillside. Views facing east are great for watching the sunrise and a kitchen and outhouse mean you’ve got everything you need to get out of town for a few days.* The location provides a serene, intimate getaway for couples, artists or anyone looking for a bit of mindful downtime and introspection. The yurt is insulated and heated by a wood stove. It is equipped with a full-sized bed, couch, breakfast table with four chairs and night table. Linens included for queen bed, for more than 2 people please byo linens. Surrounding fields are available for tent camping should you want to host a larger event and use the yurt for its kitchen and gathering space (the furniture can be removed). The yurt and its verdant surroundings are great for day-long wellness retreats, sound baths, yoga workshops, art classes and more. This is a perfect relaxation spot for bikers and hikers - Just beyond the yurt you can enjoy, or even help to improve newly constructed mountain biking trails Addison County Bike Club’s members have been working on. Rivers and lakes with swimming holes are an easy drive away, as is the charming mountain village of Bristol, with a fully stocked supermarket, two breweries, restaurants of all price ranges, shops and more. We've been farming here for 22 years, growing 5 acres of vegetables and flowers, all marketed within 50 miles of the farm. We are 30 minutes from the Burlington International Airport, and the closest Amtrak train station in Rutland is an hour drive. It is best to arrive before sunset. Please do not arrive in the middle of the night.

The Rooney Farm is an 820 acre working organic dairy farm and maple sugarbush in Morristown, VT that has been stewarded by the Rooney family for four generations. We milk a herd of fifty holstein, jersey, guernsey, and ayrshire cows. We are right off the Long Trail, Catamount Trail, and VAST trail systems. We have mountain bike trails on the farm as well as a great swimming hole. We have miles of hiking trails that link up to the Beaver Meadow trail network in the Vermont State Forest as well as Morristown Forest trails. Our camp has two full size beds and sleeps four people. The camp is not winterized: will protect you from wind and snow but not the cold!

Located on 109 scenic acres, we offer beautiful campsites, as well as RV parking and canvas tents for rent. Our property borders Vermont's Long Trail, less than 1/2 mile from the gorgeous vista of Prospect Rock. The Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is nearby for bicycle or foot travel, and the Lamoille river is easily accessed for fishing, tubing, kayaking etc. We feature a full-size professionally built Disc Golf course, Elevation Chains, on property. Beautiful views of river and mountains and a secluded yet very accessible location make this an ideal property for camping.  Our campground features a fully functioning outdoor kitchen available to all campers.  Propane stove, running water and cutlery are provided to make food planning and prep easier.  It also features a large firepit and serves as a great center for community gatherings.  Outdoor shower (room temp only) and composting toilets also available.  Biodegradable soaps and hygiene products only please! The frogs will thank you.  Ask us about canoe and paddleboard rental! About us: At Peregrine Farm and Forest we strive to be positive stewards to our land.  We actively farm and forage, and appreciate it when our guests take interest as well.  We graze sheep, pigs and sometimes other ruminants, keep gardens and perennials, and manage our lands with the most ecological practices available to us.  We believe that a strong and thriving community is foundational to a healthy, happy life and welcome all to come visit! Ask about long term camping and internship programs as well. Arriving on site: Don't follow your GPS, as it may send you to an inaccurate location. Instead, put our address (contact us if you're unable to find it on this site) in, locate our road, and then look for the street number on our mailbox on the left as you drive uphill. Once onsite, follow the drive straight until you reach the camping area and follow signage to your site. If you have questions or need assistance we live in the cabin with the blue roof and can usually be found around there.
