Weekend Trip to Liberty Hill Hideaway Lake Retreat
I had such a wonderful time visiting this campsite! Barry the host was just wonderful, extremely accommodating and great company. I would recommend a stay here to anyone! My boyfriend and I did a little fishing, some swimming, enjoyed music by campfire but still got to catch the clippers game ;) perfect glamping/getaway destination!

I loved coming here, Barry made it a whole vibe and so much better! Great company. The people property is beautiful and peaceful. It’s quirky and fun! I really enjoyed my time and the place was comfortable.

I cannot put into words how magical this place is! Barry was really nice, greeted us upon arrival and then gave us space to venture out and explore the land. He even came out with his guitar and joined us around the campfire with some good tunes (I told him I wanted to hear him play!). Just all around good vibes and will definitely be going back! Thank you Barry for sharing this gem of a place with us.

Barry’s land was so beautiful! He was such a nice and amazing host! Super chill great vibes. Beautiful scenery, got to kayak on the lake, start a campfire etc. took our 16 year old and his friends there for his birthday! 10/10 recommend

We enjoyed our getaway.
Barry came out and greeted us, very nice guy and not pushy.
There is a common area for anyone/everyone to hang out in.
He has a crows nest on the top of his house, which he allows people to go up, beautiful view. Definitely go up there.
Lots of cardinals. There might have been other birds also but those are the only ones I saw.
Lots of bluebonnets a few other wild flowers. His landscape looks nice.
It rained part of the time and the few parts that were dirt did Not get muddy. The lake was very close and was nice to look out at. We were very happy about that because it meant we could still go wonder around.
I brought my dog, she enjoyed smelling everything. There were 2 other dogs that were possibly free roam from a neighbor, they were very nice. The male dog loved pets and tried to politely try and get treats.
The RV is tiny. Lots of extra comforters and towels. It did fit us just fine, I did need a min to get used to it. 😆 Everything was in working order.
Barry was very accommodating and brought us over some firewood.

Hipcamp had a unique feel of being in the 70s again. We stayed the weekend and loved seeing the bluebonnets in full bloom. Very welcoming and relaxing. Glamping at its best.

2 nights at Liberty Hill Hideaway Lake Retreat
We loved staying at Barry’s! We spent two nights at the Barry’s essentials campsite that included a nice tent, air mattress, picnic table, fire pit, water and electricity. We had access to a shared indoor restroom and outdoor shower. The grounds are beautiful, and there was all of the firewood we could ever want!
We spent our last night at the Doris “Glamper” and it was awesome! It was cute, had a private bathroom with sink, shower and toilet, a homey kitchen with cooking essentials, fridge, stove and microwave, and a nice sized living room. The air conditioners also worked great - and we didn’t need it, but there was also an electric fireplace that would be great on a cold night.
The outside spaces all over the property are so welcoming and inviting, we loved the fun chairs and hammocks around the property, the beautiful plants and trees and artistic touches all over. The game room and crow’s nest were fun bonuses!
Barry is so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed! He sang us a few songs by the fire on our last night and we enjoyed talking and sharing stories.
We would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing time, whether in the primitive camping areas, glampers to the private rooms - there’s something for everyone!

An Unforgettable Stay at the Campsite!!
Our stay at the campsite was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the serene beauty of nature, crisp fresh air, and the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. The campsite was well-maintained, with clean facilities and spacious pitches that provided a great balance of privacy and community. The host Barry was so welcoming and we really had a good time near the main campfire with Barry playing the guitar….❤️❤️❤️❤️
The highlight of our stay was the breathtaking scenery—towering trees, a peaceful lake nearby, and stunning sunsets that painted the sky in vibrant colors. Evenings by the campfires are magical. ⛺️ 🔥
Overall, it was an incredible experience, and we left feeling refreshed and connected to nature. We can’t wait to return for another adventure!

It was the perfect get-a-way! We drove from Dallas Tx so the drive was only 1 hour 30 mins. We camped for two nights to simply get an out doors experience for the weekend. We loved exploring the property and common areas. The place is super eclectic and will be on my list to go again.

This little slice of heaven was fantastic!
The tub and the shower were an out-of-body experience. The kitchen was well stocked and everything worked!
We enjoyed daily walks around the acreage, including the pier over the pond with the glass bottom and the sweet ponies who loved pets.
The floor in the cabin was astounding. Many various materials and colors are beautifully patchworked around the entire cabin. It does make it inaccessible for people with mobility issues (but there aren’t any accessible entrances to the cabin either).
Gilberto responded quickly and worked hard to make the space very welcoming.
We will definitely be back and have already suggested it to several friends.
