Weekend Trip to Great Escapes Bryan/College Station

This is without a doubt one epic and chill place! Love the cabin and the atmosphere! People are super friendly, accommodations are clean, cool, and very comfortable. This is our new go to for staying when visiting!

This was such a nice spot and we’d love to come back sometime! Todd was really responsive, reliable, and nice. You can tell that everything is really well taken care of and we felt really comfortable and safe there.

We camped for a week in our Argosy Airstream. The road is paved right up to the campground. It was peaceful, quiet and nestled among the trees. We camped during Christmastime and visited with family and friends during the holidays. There is a train close by but it wasn’t too loud or often. We would camp there again!

We had a great stay here. Jeanna and her husband were wonderful hosts. We had a lovely time staying here and exploring the area. We enjoyed seeing the chickens and cats everyday. Jeanna had some fresh eggs for us and they were incredibly delicious.

Our property is meant to be calming, fun and relaxing. Camping with class is what we like to say. We are constantly upgrading our areas and property to be safe and entertaining. Our pond is charming and the focal point of the camping adventure. We have a paddle boat and an electric john boat to toodle around in. Want to go fishing? The pond is stocked with bass, catfish, crappie, bluegill and perch. There is also a small island we call “Angel Island” that you can fish from or just sit on the deck with your favorite beverage and enjoy the view. There is a riding/walking trail that is approximately 0.7 miles in distance and basically encompasses the perimeter of the back area. Walking is common, bikes are welcome and small 4 wheelers are also welcome. No side by sides please. You won’t be over crowded here as we currently only have 7 total camping sites. However, we do have enough property to accommodate large parties, reunions or any other type of get-togethers. Come see us and enjoy time away from the fast paced city! You might hear the sounds of the coyotes yipping in the night or perhaps one of the great horned owls calling out from a big oak tree. You may also see some deer, rabbits, squirrels and even armadillos. We are rustic but classy. Time to get away and relax! I can be reached at 850-503-1290 for questions. ** Special note - We have a very nice fireworks show on the property above the pond on the 4th of July weekend that all campers are invited to enjoy.

Hazel Park is primarily a 30 acre stand of pine. It has several trails and Crystal Creek Runs through it. In addition there is a cleared 15 acre area once used for farming and grazing. It includes our homestead. The camping area is 3 acres of an abandoned homestead which includes a water well, electricity and septic system. One septic hookup is available No toilet is available there yet. There is a septic dump. Adjacent to this area is a private pond for fishing. Off road vehicles are welcome. Lake Conroe is located about 6 miles west. The Sam Houston National Forest entrance is about 18 miles north. Beyond the national forest is Huntsville and Sam Houston State University 24 miles. To the East is Lake Livingston 35 miles and a continuation of the national forest. To the south are the cities of Conroe, The Woodlands, Spring, and Houston. Downtown Houston is about 49 miles away.

Laurel Springs RV Resort is a new RV resort consisting of 226 RV pads in a gated, access-controlled community. The RV pads are diverse in size to serve even the longest buses. Every pad has full water and sewer connections along with hard-wired fiber internet and electric hookups. The drive lanes are 34 feet wide allowing for easy maneuvering. The resort consists of a Clubhouse located just south of the entrance and a smaller satellite building on the northern portion of the property. The two buildings combined total approximately 4,164 SF with an additional outdoor patio, kitchen, and fire pit wrapped around the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse features four individual restrooms with showers, an athletic club, an arcade, a business center, a lounge, a hospitality kitchen, and a laundry room. The campground's name pays homage to the Coushatte Indians, and visitors can explore an Indian Mound on the property, where numerous arrowheads have been discovered. After many years of dedicated management, Trenckmann and Margie passed the torch to their son Howard and his wife Pamela, who operated the ranch until November 2019. The campground is now under the ownership of George Jarkesy, who aims to enhance the experience for guests.
