This is not a KOA or a state park. This is a home hostel/campground. It's kind of rustic and we like it that way. You may see a roach, ant or cricket and you may also see a deer, fox or coyote. We are busy and not always able to visit for long. Lots of remodeling and flood related cleanup chaos here but also lots of pretty and secluded nature. Short walk to bus stop and historic Sagebrush HonkyTonk and Austin Bergstrom Airport is 9 easy highway miles away. Rustic outdoor shower/kitchen/privy. BYOTent. Sheri and Johnny were extremely kind and hospitable hosts. We enjoyed the privacy of the campsites that were available (couldn’t see any of the other guests unless you went looking)! Very convenient if you’re looking to visit Hamilton pools which is just five minutes away. Also our favorite point was that it’s in an area with little/less light pollution from the city and so we were able to get really nice stargazing views!

This site was great! A huge plus was that they brought us firewood both nights that we stayed and saved me a lot of chopping time. The fire pit supplied was also very nice. They were very friendly and the donkey they had also seemed to get along great when it met our dogs.

The hosts were friendly, responsive, and made everything easy. Plenty of space, great privacy, and gorgeous scenery. We loved the quiet mornings and starry nights. Would absolutely stay again - highly recommend!

The gorgeous, green/blue water of the Llano River is perfect for a quick dip to cool off, or in February, a refreshing way to start the day!

My husband and I both enjoyed our stay at site 2! The host was friendly and the campground was overall clean. There was a beautiful view of the river that provided a great place to see sunrise and sunset. The river was accessible, but by a hill so I would keep that in mind if you have difficulty with steep inclines. Clear, cool and clean waters! Little to no light pollution allowing for an incredible view of the stars at night. It is by a county road so there was some road noise but not frequent. We will definitely be back in the future!

Daniel's Bluebonnet campsite is nicely situated near the flush toilet/shower and water spicket. The cows and donkey visited us frequently - loved it. Hiking through the back property was peaceful and beautiful. There was occasional road noise mixed with the coyote yips but not enough to matter. Great fire pit/grill! Daniel responding immediately when we needed anything. If you think the well water has an odd aroma, ask Daniel about the water in that area. We enjoyed conversing with him.
