Located just 2 miles off I-10, 8 miles to the West of Sierra Blanca, and 80 miles South/South-East of El Paso. This property is truly a part of the "OLD WEST". Sierra Blanca was named after Sierra Blanca Mountain, just North-West of town. The town came into existence when competing railroads for a second (Southern) transcontinental railroad line came within 10 miles of one another in 1881. Jay Gould, famous railroad magnate and robber baron, drove a silver spike commemorating the event on Dec. 15th 1881. The town sprang up around that spot, although the population didn't reach 350 people until 1914. It is best described as grazing land that is flat to slightly sloping terrain covered with desert sagebrush and grasses.

Primitive campsites offer nice views, solitude, and a small flat space to set up camp next to your vehicle. No shade, toilets (bring your own), or other amenities are provided at this time but are in the works. Sierra Blanca has mild winters and very hot summers but the desert can get cold at night. The weather is generally sunny but come prepared for changing conditions.
This is not a commercial campground. Site is great for large groups. Larger RVs have trouble turning or parking so please no rvs over 26 ft. Bring your own toilet.
Wildlife include rabbits and hares, javelina, woodcock, teal, sandhill crane, quail, pronghorn, mule deer, duck, dove, rattlesnake, rails, gallinules, and moorehens, toads and a variety of lizards.

This was the perfect desert stay! We were really cozy and protected from all the high winds, and had super easy access to the National Park. It was also nice because it would get cold at night and then warm up for the evening when we got back. Once this container has power I think it will be even more ideal even through the summer too!

This was a nice campground, connections worked well and even had a good Mountain View from our site. There is nothing in this area so if you are staying out here this might be the best rv location for several miles. We will stay here again when we go back to Guadalupe.

This is my second stay here! Jay is a fabulous host and he has gone above and beyond with the campsites to name them unique and cool wirh the bronze animals and lantern lights and super clean nice bath house. Not only is the hospitality great , the views of the Guadalupe mountains are stunning with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Perfect place to stay if you are visiting Carlsbad , Guadalupe Mountains, and White Sands National Parks.

The park is new and currently has 12 full hook-up sites, with more being constructed.
There are animal sculptures and elegant lighting, a laundry house with two top-load washers, two dryers, a detergent machine and change machine. The owner, Jay, is as nice as his park.
And the best part is, it is waaay out there.
About 9 miles from Dell City (Pop 220, with a small "grocery" and a couple small restaurants.
I think I saw one or two places for gas/diesel.
At $30/night, $175/week, it is a bargain.

I loved camping here, it was a wonderful experience. The camp site felt very safe and Jay took extra time and care to make the site clean and taken care of. Best campsite I've been too for sure!

This place was quiet and peaceful at night. The view of the Guadalupe Mountains at dusk was breathtaking. There's plenty of stargazing at night as there's no light pollution. The facilities were great. Very clean and organized space overall. We enjoyed chatting with the host as well.

We enjoyed our stay at Jay's campsite. Location was easy to find and provided easy access to Guadalupe Mountains NP about 30 minutes away. The bathroom was super clean, and there is a laundry room as well. Would definitely stay again!

Mountain View RV Park is a great RV park. Jay was a great owner and host.
The site was a nice size. The bathroom and shower was very nice and clean. The laundry room was very nice and clean. The view from the RV park was nice as well.
I will stay at Mountain View RV park again when I am in the area.

This is a special place. The amount of work and care put into this property is mind-boggling. Also, I was able to ask the host questions and he answered immediately, even answered my phone call at night when I was having trouble finding the spot. GREAT deal. Remember though, you’re in the west Texas desert! Respect the land, if you want it to respect you.

This campground was very clean and super cute. I love the decorations. We stayed in a tent site. The ground was level and the thick layer of gravel made staking the tent easy. The bathroom was close by and very clean. The park was easy to find and quiet. I’ll definitely stay here again!

Take plenty of water. Road gets very slippery when wet. Deep cracks on the road. Loved the hiking and the starry nights. Quiet lovely nature.
