Weekend Trip to River Grove Campground

Our overnight camping trip to Billy’s was a last-minute decision — and we’re so glad we made it! Everything was exactly as pictured, and we had a wonderful time on his beautiful property. We spent the day fishing and taking advantage of the Jon boat and kayak right by the shore. We cooked over an open flame with wood we purchased directly from Billy, which made the experience even better. The weather was perfect, the company was even better, and the sweet sounds of nature were truly the cherry on top. Thank you, Billy, for sharing your little slice of heaven with us — we can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Ranch 3232

3232 is a good spot to land after a day at Pedernales State Park -- only ten minutes from this campground. My son and small dog stayed at the Comanche Glamping Tent and were comfortable and had a good time. I initially worried that we were too close to the road as it's one of the first sites in the campground, but it got very quiet at night so that wasn't an issue. This tent is right beside the bathrooms, kitchen and communal fire pit area. This was convenient, and there were some campers who stayed there past the designated quiet hour of 10pm, but it wasn't an issue for us.

Great hospitality! They are very accommodating, and welcoming. Will definitely be returning for future stays in Hill country. Just such a cute little place. Beds are VERY comfortable, slept like a queen. Bathrooms were all very clean.

The weather was fantastic, very good spaces from other campers and walking distance restroom just across this campsite. 🤗 Very quiet at night see the stars. Nice area for campers.

Weekend Trip to Longhorn Getaway Campgrounds

This is our second time booking with Jana! We had a smaller group this time and a different site. Again we were so happy with our stay. Campsite was lovely with tons of shade, loved the view of the big oak tree/pond. We love playing disc golf so it's such a treat to be able to play where we camp. The course has become one of my favorites in central Texas. We look forward to our next stay here!

Billy's place is beautiful. He has the sites spread out so there is lots of privacy. Great view of the rive, big shady trees, and enjoyed the sheep grazing through. Easy walk to access to the Guadalupe River. Looking forward to next time.

This was my second stay at this location and I choose a different campsite this time. The Juniper Site was convenient to get to, parking was super close, and it was just secluded enough to make me file right at home in nature and allow me to relax and recharge after a brutal work week. Directions and descriptions are spot-on and the host is always very responsive if you have any questions or concern. I'll definitely be staying here again in the future!

1 night at Hill Country Micro-Farm Glamping

Michaela’s site is so cozy and thoughtfully laid out - all the comforts of home (air conditioning, toilets) while out in nature. She gave us bottle to feed the baby goats which was our highlight. It’s a perfect spot for getting away from the city and catching up on reading. Definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed the cleanliness of the bathrooms and it was convenient to walk there ranging from around 5-8 minutes. I would definitely recommend!

Gonzales, Tx is where the first shot during the Mexican war was fire that today has branded there own flag of a cannon with the saying "Come and Take It". The property has grasslands on a slight hill just enough to give an amazing view of the surrounding landscape. We are currently building our property up living off of the grid in our 5th wheel. We will be building a 5 acre fruit and vegetable farm with plenty of activities to do. If you like bees, or would like to learn a little about them, we have our own hives here where we are currently raising about 40,000 of them. Questions about growing, we can see if we can answer them. The property is easy access right off the hwy and only a few miles to town where activities range from hiking, swimming, golfing, history exploring, kayaking and many more activities. Eight acres of semi-kept hillcountry just outside Boerne, TX. Our land offers a good mix of native and non-native trees with plenty of open spaces for the night sky. Many level areas for dry tent camping with good views, especially sunsets. Optional tent spots offer semi seclusion. This is "dry" camping, there aren't bathrooms on site. We do have an outdoor shower that is well water temperature. One RV spot is available with water/electrical hook up. No black water dump available. Boerne is about a mile and a half away. The closest gas station is less than a mile. Boerne has a 24 hour Planet Fitness with hot water showers. Many restaurant options nearby. Three miles from Boerne Lake. Historic Luckenbach and Fredericksburg Wineries are about a half hour away. Our land is inhabited by two sweet and lively dogs. They will say hi and periodically check in but will otherwise leave you alone. We also have active bee hives on the property, but the bees are usually too busy to bother anyone.

. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers. The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so. Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds. Campfires are permitted. There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one. Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently I am almost always on the property and try to have my phone with me while campers are on site, just let me know what you need and I will do what I can to accommodate you. Our goals are to establish a thriving community, grow most of our own food, build tiny houses to rent or sell, create sustainability and be as self sufficient as possible, salvage material for builds, host events and retreats, teach classes, and more. Please feel free to ask questions and share any interest you may have in what we are doing here. Our property is a densely forested 85 acres with a walk-able 2 miles around the perimeter of the property and many trails and hidden nooks to explore throughout the heart of this beautiful escape back to our natural roots. We are in the process of mapping out the trails- which we plan to make available soon! For now those of you with a sense of adventure and desire to explore will certainly be satisfied. We have a full acre size pond and a kayak that you can feel free to use. There is a communal area around the pond that we will be adding to in the near future- you may run into some of our community members or other campers there from time to time, we invite you to socialize, bring a chair, perhaps a beverage or snack and get to know each other and us as well if we cross paths! You will observe and encounter wildlife in abundance including a variety of birds, wild hogs, opossums, armadillo, moles, spiders, scorpions, butterflies, praying mantis, walking sticks, snakes- keep an eye out for rattlesnakes and copperheads, deer, many insects, and more. Please be cautious and treat these creatures' home with respect for them as well as yourselves. Our property is also home to some lovely cows, chickens, a few dogs, and several cats- they (other than the cows who do what they please) generally remain in areas away from our camp sites though they may still decide to stop by to say hello! We have many spaces available for camping throughout the property. These are primitive campsites on raw land so you will need to provide your own tent, water, food, and operate with a leave no trace mentality when camping here. There are areas that can accommodate large groups of campers as well as very secluded nooks if you are looking for a private retreat into nature. There is plenty of fallen wood available for firewood and a fire pit will be prepared for you before arrival!
