I really loved the feel of everything. However, when I got to the tent I saw a lot of things I didn't see within the pictures. A lot of the things were changed out. It was beautiful, but it also just wasn't what we expected. The bed was comfortable, it came with blankets, had two lamps on each bed. There is an ac & heater to use, but the ac came in through the zipper windows. We had to stuff a bag into the hole so no bugs would get in. The rack to hang clothes n such on was short, so you couldn't even hang anything. Also, I wasn't expecting the furnace to be removed. I should've looked into it more, but I really was excited for that part of the tent. The toilets are eco friendly, so you can't flush the toilet with toilet paper and dispose into a toilet (bring a water bottle to flush!). There were also a lot of holes in the bathroom/shower area. This made it extremely cold trying to shower, + if someone came over to go to the bathroom, while you were showering they could see you, if they wanted to. This place is nice, but there's some kinks that need a little fix. Overall, decent experience. <3

Very interesting and comfortable treehouse! Very private and the tub and fire were perfect. You will hear the highway unfortunately, but it was still quite relaxing with a ton of wildlife. You can feel the love that went into building this special structure.

I would highly recommend staying at the Happy Horse Camp! The cabins have a lovely, quaint vibe and are clean with a solid set of amenities. Showers and bathrooms are available, and the on site nature walk with the scavenger hunt is very fun. Beaux and Hollis went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. I proposed to my fiance and they helped set up the proposal location on the nature walk. My fiance was very suprised and it made for a magical day:) Huge thanks to Beaux and Hollis for their help and responsiveness.

Weekend Trip to Ranch 3232

3232 is a good spot to land after a day at Pedernales State Park -- only ten minutes from this campground. My son and small dog stayed at the Comanche Glamping Tent and were comfortable and had a good time. I initially worried that we were too close to the road as it's one of the first sites in the campground, but it got very quiet at night so that wasn't an issue. This tent is right beside the bathrooms, kitchen and communal fire pit area. This was convenient, and there were some campers who stayed there past the designated quiet hour of 10pm, but it wasn't an issue for us.

Weekend Trip to Stunning Dome Retreat w/Hot Tub

This was our first time using HipCamp, and what an incredible experience! Zvi and Thunder (the resident longhorn on site) were extremely responsive hosts and made sure we had everything that we needed for the duration of our stay. The geodesic dome was beautifully decorated with a sophisticated touch, impeccably clean, and incredibly comfortable. The location was private and peaceful—a perfect getaway from the city. We loved how secluded it felt despite being a short 20 minute drive from Bastrop. One of our favorite parts was waking up to a beautiful sunrise, with the option to open the curtains and let the morning light pour in. At night, the views of the sky were absolutely stunning—perfect for stargazing and soaking in the beauty of the quiet countryside. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to unwind and recharge.

Weekend Trip to Secluded Treehouse/AC, Real Privacy

Me and my family loved this treehouse! It was tons of fun for the kids - there are games, puzzles, kayaks, a canoe, a cargo net, arts & crafts and a nice little "hike" on the property. The water was low but the host sent us another spot we could checkout closeby if we wanted more water- turns out there was plenty still to entertain the kids. There are pantry staples and basic seasonings, a small electric cook top thing, a few pans/pot, mini fridge, kettle, coffeemaker and a toaster oven. If you find you need something you are nearby a store (but don't worry, this is a nice isolated place. I never felt like there was anyone nearby! I did hear some loud music a couple of times at night, maybe from a neighbor? but it subsided around midnight and wasn't *too* loud.) There are 3 cute ducks that hang around and a bunch of cardinals and other small songbirds that pop up- one even greeted me in the shower, haha. The weather was perfect - especially for sleeping outside in the hanging bed. The host is super nice and will answer quickly! If you are thinking of booking, for a romantic getaway or a little fun with the kids (or both) - you can find it here.

What went well? EVERYTHING was better than described or expected. My wife and I were met by Bo (sorry if not the spelling). Smiling from ear to ear and just an overall wonderful person. He helped us take our things to our cabin and described different things that we could do. Everything from a scavenger hunt to harmonica lessons. Beautiful property nestled away from traffic or prying eyes. The cabins are spaced well far apart so you do not feel like others are in your business. I could not believe how well stocked the cabin was. Plenty of blankets, heaters, ceiling fans, air conditioning, cookware, microwave - this was literally the easiest camping experience I've ever had and I'm 55 lol. They also have a fire pit area for each individual cabin to make the experience even nicer. We spent 2 evenings and just had a blast. There are plenty of places to get wonderful food, beverages or any other thing you and your family might need. This is a must stop for camping on a wonderful level. Each cabin also had its own 5 star outhouse and 5 star is the truth! Absolutely cleaner than public restrooms with every necessity. I highly recommend this camping spot!

Private, peaceful and secluded. Thirty nine foot RV with slide out walls. Queen bed and a couch. No other RVs next to you. Just forest. Hot shower, full kitchen, window a/c unit. On very hot afternoons to A/C unit struggles to keep the place cool. If it is 100 outside the A/C unit might only bring it down to 75 in the main area and warmer in the bedroom. At night and in the morning the A/C is strong enough. Learn more about this land: Lost Pines Private RV is located on a gravel dead-end road. We are in a pine forest with some oaks and have a two-acre lake on the property that is good for swimming. Bastrop and Buescher State Parks are nearby and easy to access through back roads. ****Recent Update**** Due to new adjacent properties developments, and new neighbors moving in nearby, there are occasional neighboring barking, music and gunshots that can be heard from the distance, which is pretty common out in the countryside here. *************************************************************************************** There is currently a group of 10 people who spend the majority of our time living and striving to create community on these 85 beautiful acres of land. Our goals are to establish a thriving community, grow most of our own food, build tiny houses to rent or sell, create sustainability and be as self sufficient as possible, salvage material for builds, host events and retreats, teach classes, and more. Please feel free to ask questions and share any interest you may have in what we are doing here. Our property is a densely forested 85 acres with a walk-able 2 miles around the perimeter of the property and many trails and hidden nooks to explore throughout the heart of this beautiful escape back to our natural roots. We are in the process of mapping out the trails- which we plan to make available soon! For now those of you with a sense of adventure and desire to explore will certainly be satisfied. We have a full acre size pond and a kayak that you can feel free to use. There is a communal area around the pond that we will be adding to in the near future- you may run into some of our community members or other campers there from time to time, we invite you to socialize, bring a chair, perhaps a beverage or snack and get to know each other and us as well if we cross paths! You will observe and encounter wildlife in abundance including a variety of birds, wild hogs, opossums, armadillo, moles, spiders, scorpions, butterflies, praying mantis, walking sticks, snakes- keep an eye out for rattlesnakes and copperheads, deer, many insects, and more. Please be cautious and treat these creatures' home with respect for them as well as yourselves. Our property is also home to some lovely cows, chickens, a few dogs, and several cats- they (other than the cows who do what they please) generally remain in areas away from our camp sites though they may still decide to stop by to say hello! We have many spaces available for camping throughout the property. These are primitive campsites on raw land so you will need to provide your own tent, water, food, and operate with a leave no trace mentality when camping here. There are areas that can accommodate large groups of campers as well as very secluded nooks if you are looking for a private retreat into nature. There is plenty of fallen wood available for firewood and a fire pit will be prepared for you before arrival!
