Hipcamp had a unique feel of being in the 70s again. We stayed the weekend and loved seeing the bluebonnets in full bloom. Very welcoming and relaxing. Glamping at its best.

Weekend Trip to Arison's Farm Stay

What a lovely space to escape from the world! Great hosts, great kids and great space. Very clean. Had everything we needed and more. Jim was entertaining, the dogs are sweeties, and all the goats! Terrific stay

We stayed the weekend for a getaway from life and work. Such a calm and relaxing location. It was nice to lay in the hammock and watch the animals walk around. We enjoyed walks around the property with small trails to walk through. One of our best moments was sitting by the lake at night to star gaze, it was such a beautiful view of all the visible stars. Our 4 legged furry daughter really enjoyed laying on the top floor balcony of the dollhouse to enjoy the entire view. We had such an amazing weekend. Thank you Amy for being such an accommodating host. We will definitely 1000% be back!

The experience was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. Amy was very accommodating and great with our children in our group. This camp has a wonderful pavilion with lots of seating and activities for the children also. We loved the animals, the quiet, and the area to walk and enjoy. We will definitely recommend this place to others. We look forward to our next visit!!

We loved staying at Barry’s! We spent two nights at the Barry’s essentials campsite that included a nice tent, air mattress, picnic table, fire pit, water and electricity. We had access to a shared indoor restroom and outdoor shower. The grounds are beautiful, and there was all of the firewood we could ever want! We spent our last night at the Doris “Glamper” and it was awesome! It was cute, had a private bathroom with sink, shower and toilet, a homey kitchen with cooking essentials, fridge, stove and microwave, and a nice sized living room. The air conditioners also worked great - and we didn’t need it, but there was also an electric fireplace that would be great on a cold night. The outside spaces all over the property are so welcoming and inviting, we loved the fun chairs and hammocks around the property, the beautiful plants and trees and artistic touches all over. The game room and crow’s nest were fun bonuses! Barry is so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed! He sang us a few songs by the fire on our last night and we enjoyed talking and sharing stories. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing time, whether in the primitive camping areas, glampers to the private rooms - there’s something for everyone!

An Unforgettable Stay at the Campsite!! Our stay at the campsite was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the serene beauty of nature, crisp fresh air, and the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. The campsite was well-maintained, with clean facilities and spacious pitches that provided a great balance of privacy and community. The host Barry was so welcoming and we really had a good time near the main campfire with Barry playing the guitar….❤️❤️❤️❤️ The highlight of our stay was the breathtaking scenery—towering trees, a peaceful lake nearby, and stunning sunsets that painted the sky in vibrant colors. Evenings by the campfires are magical. ⛺️ 🔥 Overall, it was an incredible experience, and we left feeling refreshed and connected to nature. We can’t wait to return for another adventure!

Stayed at one of the lovely lodging locations by the Brazos river! Good water pressure and hot water. Fridge, AC/heat, hotplate, TV, indoor flush toilet, indoor shower, comfortable bed. Coffee maker present but did not use. Location is managed but owner is nearby. Both people were very accommodating and communication was very good. Price was comparable to motels, but privacy surpassed all!! We were returning from an east-west coast car-camping/nomad road trip. We planned to stay with a friend but they got sick and we needed to find last minute alternative lodging before leaving Texas. We were ahead of the storms coming from the west and south (March 11-16 2025). This site was not only available last minute for us but allowed a one night stay. We booked a few hours away and drove to this lovely location. I only wish I could have booked longer but definitely will save this as a favorite location to return. <3 Word to the wise for all: ALWAYS contact HipCamp hosts prior to booking even if it is an Instant Book. Just like with the other types of “hosted stays” AirBnB, Vrbo, HarvestHosts —Technology is cool but can be flawed. I have stayed at two HipCamps and plan to host my own. Both times the app fell short on some info, but not enough to spoil the experience. Just communicate with the hosts and all will work out!

This place was so great! Amy was amazing and gave us a tour of all her animals. It was a wonderful time. We will definitely be back!

It was the perfect get-a-way! We drove from Dallas Tx so the drive was only 1 hour 30 mins. We camped for two nights to simply get an out doors experience for the weekend. We loved exploring the property and common areas. The place is super eclectic and will be on my list to go again.

Beautiful place & Barry is an excellent host. Can be utilized as a romantic or family getaway.

Gypsy Moon Hideaway

Located at the end of the road. There is over 20 acres. Some cleared and some still in original woods. Trees, grass and deer everywhere. There is over a quarter mile of Brazos riverfront property although you cannot get to the river on all of it due to it being in its natural state. There is a beach at the main camp that provides easy in and out of the water. the water depth varies with the rainfall but is usually between 2-4 feet deep.
